We mostly address issues teens deal with on this podcast. But there are challenges to parenting that are worth taking a look at as well. Our Perspectives On Parenting topics are aimed at looking at these issues to help teens understand some of the difficulties parents face to hopefully put things on a more even playing field. Today’s Perspective on Parenting will look at some of the top challenges of parenting today.
This week we’re talking about teens and accountability. We’ll define what accountability is and how to hold teens accountable. Then we’ll talk about setting goals and how to help our teens realize those goals. Finally we’ll look at ways to help instill accountability in teens and help them make themselves successful.
This week we are talking about the importance of teen individuality and identity development. We’ll talk about what teen identity development is, why it’s important and some of the consequences of underdeveloped teen identities. Then we’ll explore some of the ways that teens display their self identity issues before we finish up with some tips on how parents can help their teens for a positive self-identity.
This week we conclude our current Question and Answer Series with questions about friends and family. We learn what it is that Madison looks for in her friends. How she gets along with her friends and what benefits there are to have loyal friends who are interested in taking care of each other.
We’ll also delve into some family related questions. We’ll talk about Madison’s brother and some of the trials and tribulations over the years. We’ll also discus how Madison gets along with her parents. Does she respect them? Does she argue with them? Has she ever gotten angry at them. We’ll look at the traits she admires most about her parents, which traits she’d like to develop in herself and what traits she’s change about her parents.
We finish up our two part question and answer session with four new topics. This week we discuss relationships, the future, family and personal values. We gain new insights into the complicated personality that is our co-host and we get what I consider to be the single best answer to the age old question “What is the meaning of life” that I’ve ever heard. It’s a heart warming, educational and entertaining look into the mind of today’s youth.
This week the tables are turned and Madison is hosting the show. In her debut as show writer, producer and host she grills dad with a series of pointed and revealing questions that lets her get to know dad a little bit better and mark Father’s Day with a special episode to all the fathers out there in the audience. Not only do we get to learn a little more about Joe, but also the relationship that Joe and Madison share. It’s a touching and heartfelt episode for the holiday.
