Situations, emotions and hormones often combine in our teens to make them feel like a burden on those around them. We’ll explore why this happens, some of the things that can cause this and finally we’ll look at ways to help our teens combat this.
This week’s episode is all about the holidays. First we’ll talk about holiday traditions that we do as a family and ones that we’ve done over the years. Then we’ll have some fun with a little holiday trivia and learn some things about the holidays we didn’t know before. And finally we’ll finish up with another fun segment of “Would you rather…Holiday Edition”. We figured we’d wrap up another great year of podcasting with some fun as we take a few weeks off for the holidays. We’ll be back broadcasting live again after the first of the year.
Have a safe and happy holiday to all our viewers, listeners and fans.
This week is a cute kitten episode. We showcase the newest addition to our family, our little kitten Pumpkin. We’ll discuss the circumstances of why we decided to expand our family after feeling the loss of one of our beloved elder cats. We’ll talk about where we found pumpkin, who we were lucky enough to get her from and the details of the adoption process.
The second half of the show is dedicated to Pumpkin herself. The diva of a kitten makes an early and unexpected appearance early on in the show but is kind enough to come back to close out the show with us. We’ll talk about some of the fun little things we’ve discovered about her so far, explore her interesting personality, detail how she’s gotten along with the rest of the family and share some fun stories we’ve got from her in just the last couple of weeks.
Stick around until the end of the show with a special bonus montage of some of our favorite photo’s that we’ve snapped of the cute little kitten, including her holiday outfit!
After a week off we’re back with a discussion on Personal Freedom for Teens. We discuss how the proper balance of freedom and boundaries is important for allowing our teens to grow, mature and take on new responsibilities. We’ll look at some of the issues that parents face when granting personal freedoms to teens. We’ll also look at some of the temptations and consequences of too much personal freedom in teens. We take a look at how to best balance the need for freedom for teens to explore who they are and who they want to be while still maintaining that layer of protection that all parents feel for their children.
In this special interview episode we talk about grandparents, how important they are to our children and the knowledge and experience they pass on to the younger generation. Sadly Madison’s biological grandparents are no longer with us. However, she was fortunate enough to acquire an adoptive set of fantastic grandparents thanks to our extended family.
Joining us for this special episode is Madison’s adopted grandmother “G-Ma” to share some of her memories and experiences with us. She’s been a part of Madison’s life since she was born and has shared numerous fantastic memories with us already. This is Madison’s chance to get to know a little bit more about her adopted grandmother in this touching and humorous episode.
This week we take time out of a regular podcast schedule to pay tribute to a family member we lost. Last week our beloved cat Dorian encountered some medical issues. After a dire prognosis from the vet we made the difficult decision to put her down rather than to have her suffer. It was a difficult decision but one that was in her best interest.
This week we celebrate the life of Dorian by reminiscing about some of our fondest memories of her. How she adopted us shortly after we moved into the neighborhood. We’ll reflect on all the love and joy that she brought into our lives and some of the more colorful memories we have of her. It’s a podcast of remembrance and healing to help us get through our time of grief. We invite you all to share in our experiences and enjoy some of the wonderful stories we had about our wonderful member of the family.
