This week’s Disney Detective explores the cautious reopening of Downtown Disney in California. We’ll also take a look at a rather comedic take on a malfunctioning audio-animatronic in Carousel of Progress. We’ll then take a look at an extremely talented 20 year old Tik Tok artist who seems to have captured the attention of a number of notable Disney people.
Star Wars Insights explores the rumored future of the franchise. Will Kathleen Kennedy be stepping away from Lucasfilm to pursue her own female-centric production company. This comes from the same source who suggested a radical move by Disney to explain away the sequel trilogy where many fans thing they took the franchise off course. It’s an interested set of rumors, innuendo and convenient timing that are combined into some fascinating if not a bit far fetched theories.
Entertainment News explores how San Diego Comic-Con will be coming to you at home this year. We’ll talk about the recently announced 6th season of the Crown. We’ll also take a look at the schedule of Great Performances that PBS will be releasing for us to enjoy a little bit of Broadway at home.
We’ll finish up with our Insightful Picks of the week were we both give our take on the recently released Hamilton on Disney Plus. Another great show!

- Downtown Disney reopens to public, while theme park’s reopening date still undetermined

- Downtown Disney reopened on Thursday – but fans will have to wait longer before they can enjoy the full Disneyland theme park.
- After months of closure, some people lined up as early as 5 a.m. for the outdoor shopping district’s 10 a.m. opening.
- For some, it was about being able to buy Disney merchandise.
- For others, it was simply a way to get out of the house.
- Joselyn McCutcheon drove 90 minutes from Lake Elsinore so her young daughter could be at the Downtown Disney reopening
- “She’s bored at home. She can’t wait to get out and about. That’s why she’s excited to be here.”
- The business district filled with shops and restaurants outside Disneyland reopened with new protocols meant to promote social distancing and sanitation. Parking was intentionally kept limited and workers were frequently sanitizing heavily used areas.
- Guests were required to wear masks and submit to temperature checks at the entrance.
- The district’s new operating hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, though hours for individual businesses may vary.
- More details about the reopening of Downtown Disney are available here at Disney’s website.
- The reopening of the theme park remains up in the air. Disneyland is waiting for the state to issue protocols and allow theme parks to reopen.
- Pending state and local government approval, Disneyland Resort parks had planned to reopen on July 17 with similar protocols in place, but officials later delayed the reopening of the theme parks and hotel. There was no new date given.
- As California is experiencing a surge in cases and as officials consider closing down businesses such as bars, theme parks will likely to have to wait longer.
- “Once they open the park back up, we’re back,” said Airik Aguirre.
- Meanwhile, Walt Disney World in Orlando is set to reopen Saturday for the first time since coronavirus-related closures in March.

- Walt Disney World hasn’t reopened to the general public quite yet, that happens in a couple of days. However, yesterday, the resort saw its first guests as part of a cast member preview day. The purpose of the special day was, in part, a test run for Magic Kingdom reopening after months of being closed, and apparently, that was needed, as some of the attractions had some kinks to work out.
- Video surfaced yesterday of the Carousel of Progress having some minor issues as the animatronic main character of John had a minor seizure on stage. It was entertaining to see, and not all that uncommon an event all things considered, but it took a life of its own when Disney Parks fans started adding music to it. Now John Progress (as he is known) is having a solo dance party inside the Carousel of Progress, and it’s best attraction retheme I’ve ever seen.
- My personal favorite is still this one, that takes Walt Disney World and combines it with that other major Disney pop culture event of recent days, the Disney+ release of Hamilton. Check it out.
- Honestly, you’ve got to figure somewhere inside Disney parks there is a conversation of how to use Hamilton, and there are worse ideas than an animatronic show recreating the best musical moments. Now I’m imagining a modern animatronic Daveed Diggs busting this out and I want to see it happen.
- The original post of the clip came from the Magic Blitz Podcast Twitter feed, and then the rest of DisTwitter jumped on it to have a bit of fun. If John Progress’ best Daveed Diggs impression isn’t your speed, then maybe you’ll enjoy the Carousel of Progress does Queen.
- The Carousel of Progress was first created by WED Enterprises, the precursor to Walt Disney Imagineering, for the 1964 World’s Fair. After the fair, it moved to Disneyland where it spent about a decade before moving to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World where the show has run continuously ever since. The animatronic show takes viewers through a century of human progress through technology. The show has gone through a few changes over the decades to keep it current, and honestly, it’s probably about due for an update. I suppose it wouldn’t be the first time a Disney park just tried to save money by adding a dance party in an unused space.

- Rght before the long holiday weekend, 20-year-old Georgia State University student Julian Bass shared a TikTok video on his Twitter account and asked people to retweet it “enough times that Disney calls.”
- His gamble paid off. A few days after sending the video out on social media, Disney—and plenty of others—came calling.
- In the seamlessly edited video, set to Harry Styles’ impossibly catchy “Watermelon Sugar,” Bass transforms from a Jedi armed with a light saber to Ben 10 to your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, bearing an uncanny resemblance to a real life version of Miles Morales, from the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The short video is not only incredibly fun to watch, but an incredible showcase of Bass’ self-taught editing and visual graphics skills.
- “I learned VFX and filmmaking on my own for the most part,” Bass says in an interview with TIME. “[There was] a lot of trial and error and learning from experience! I haven’t ever taken a film class or anything like that.”
- The video started out as just another exercise for Bass. “The idea was born out of me wanting to try something new,” he says. “I always like to try new things and I’d never done a Ben 10 alien, CGI character, a good lightsaber, or Spider-Man effect. The song ‘Watermelon Sugar’ gave me the idea to just throw them all together and I got up and did it. The video, the tweet, all of it was really just me messing around. I’ve been doing this since I was 11 so for me it was truly just another day, just another video.”
- While it may have been “just another video” for Bass, the video lit a fire on social media, quickly spreading from fans to stars to directors and even studios. They all took notice of the video and the incredible untapped talent it showed. Among those to comment on the clip were Oscar-winner Matthew Cherry, actor Josh Gad, movie studio, Sony, and Ben 10 voice actor Tara Strong, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and actor Zach Braff urging Gunn to “hire this man.” Luke Skywalker himself, a.k.a. actor Mark Hamill, liked the tweet, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey took notice of both the video and the fan campaign to turn Bass into the live-action version of Miles Morales.
- That wasn’t all, though. In a dream interaction for any up-and-coming visual effects star, the official Lonely Island Twitter account wrote that it had forwarded the video to Industrial Light & Magic, the famed animation and special effects firm. Eventually, Bass’ video managed to do what he dreamed of— it caught the attention of Disney executive chairman Bob Iger himself, who replied to Bass online saying, “The world’s gonna know your name!”

- Star Wars Insights – Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge?
- STAR WARS RESET INCLUDES KATHLEEN KENNEDY STEPPING DOWN??
- https://bit.ly/2CmUKn8
- It is claimed that Kathleen Kennedy will be stepping down from Lucasfilm to start her own female-centric production company, which follows the rumor that Disney is resetting Star Wars.
- Details once again come from the “future ruler of Earth,” Lord Doomcock, from the Overlord DVD YouTube channel.
- Recall it was Doomcock who revealed all those Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker spoilers and Doomcock even revealed trouble at Disney with Brie Larson prior to the directing and writing team being let go from the Captain Marvel sequel.
- Doomcock has gone on record stating sources have filled him in that a secret plan is in the works to save Star Wars that involves some sort of Star Wars “civil war” taking place at Lucasfilm between Kathleen Kennedy, and those loyal to George Lucas, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
- In Doomcock’s previous report, it was stated the Star Wars reset will involve the erasure of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker through a concept introduced in the Star Wars Rebels animated series, the “Veil of The Force.”
- “Kathleen Kennedy’s reign of terror is almost at an end,” claims the YouTuber. “I’ve been sitting on this information for weeks now seeking further confirmation, but at this point, I’ve heard enough from various viewpoints to credit this rumor may have some validity to it.”
- It’s explained that Kennedy is dead set against the plan as it will undo everything she has done with Disney Star Wars.
- “It attacks her legacy in a fundamental way,” says Doomcock. “It’s a stinging rebuke to her authority and vision and repudiation of her brand of identity politics and a signal to a grateful world that The Force isn’t female at all but belongs to everyone.”
- Obviously the plan to save Star Wars couldn’t happen with Kennedy in charge of Lucasfilm, which means when her contract expires in 2021, she is out.
- “Nearly a month ago my source notified me that a big meeting had taken place regarding the future of Lucasfilm. Bob Iger and Bob Chapek both participated in the meeting, which is significant, but even more significant was who did not participate in the meeting, Kathleen Kennedy, the head of Lucasfilm,” says Doomcock. “I am informed that Kennedy never misses meetings like these and so her absence was notable. One would think a meeting about the future of Lucasfilm would include the head of Lucasfilm, but according to my source, Kennedy did not participate in this meeting.”
- It’s claimed that a few days prior to the big meeting, Kathleen Kennedy had a meeting of her own that lasted an hour and after she left, Kennedy withdrew from contact with underlings.
- “A couple of weeks ago, Kennedy’s right hand contacted the staff, which is predominantly female, if not exclusively, and reportedly conveyed the following message on behalf of Kathleen Kennedy: ‘Miss Kathy has decided she will not be pursuing an extension of her contract, so if any of you wish to stay with her, you best be making your minds up. You have time, there is no need for any rash decisions but Ms. Kathy has plans to open a female-centric production company,'” explains the YouTuber.
- According to Doomcock, there are rumors going around Lucasfilm that the meeting Kennedy attended saw Kennedy provided with data regarding how Star Wars has been failing under her leadership since the take over by Disney, as the movies, merchandise, and parks have been down-trending (something I have been covering for years).
- “At this point, I have been informed that Kennedy’s contract will not be renewed,” says Doomcock. “She will be going on to create her own production company. Her leadership will be missed but Disney looks forward to what Kathleen will do with her new company… If this is true, it appears that Kathleen Kennedy’s reign of terror may finally be nearing its end and a reign of terror is exactly what it’s rumored to have been. After the financial success of The Force Awakens, Kennedy was foolishly given free rein to do whatever she wanted with The Last Jedi. The result was as sham. A crass and tasteless propaganda film. A shameless checklist of woke talking points overflowing with virtual signaling and contempt for what Kennedy perceives as the patriarchy, utterly devoid of narrative coherence, creative integrity, or anything resembling Star Wars. Kennedy had her way with Star Wars in an almost biblical sense and then set about changing the culture and mission of Lucasfilm stacking the staff with feminist ideologues and weeding out any employees that failed to live up to her political litmus tests. Case in point, Dave Filoni.”
- Doomcock goes on to explain that several years ago Dave Filoni mocked fans at a women’s conference, and when Doomcock brought up concerns about Filoni, he says his source filled him in that those comments were basically coerced because at the time four years ago, Kennedy was in charge and “you didn’t step out of line if you wanted to keep working there.”
- “She had her agenda. She told the monkey to dance, and he did,” says Doomcock’s source at Lucasfilm.
- Another Doomcock source also says that while things have been bad at Lucasfilm, there is hope.
- “The acrimony is genuine. Lucasfilm is a house at times bitterly divided and there is indeed a new hope for Star Wars as a number of positive changes are rumored to be coming,” says the source.
- Again, as previously explained, the plan is to use The Veil of The Force to cancel out Kennedy’s sequel trilogy and to de-canonize things.
- Doomcock also points out that Kathleen Kennedy leaving Disney and Lucasfilm looks to be true because of the recent announcement regarding Star Wars Celebration getting pushed back by two years, which is the year after Kennedy’s contract expires.
- “Why pre-cancel the event for 2021? After all, no one has an idea what the situation with the contagion will be like from a year from now. Why not just wait and see? Why postpone the event to 2022? Well, my friends, ask yourself what will of ended by 2022? The answer is simple: Kathleen Kennedy’s contract,” he explains.
- Doomcock goes on to say that starting in 2022, Disney wants to start fresh with the franchise and bring the old fans back. He says that Star Wars Celebration 2022 will see the announcement of a new head of Lucasfilm, if not prior, and that Kennedy will be moving on.
- “It would indeed be a significant reset for Lucasfilm and it would generate genuine heat for a revamped Star Wars moving back to the basics Lucas originally intended and away from the divisive identity politics that has crippled the franchise and divided the fan base,” he says.
- It’s said that one source is stating Jon Favreau will be named as the new head of Lucasfilm; however, another source of Doomcock’s says that a completely neutral party will be brought in as the new head of Lucasfilm moving forward to calm down all the internal problems and start fresh.
- An additional rumor is also stating the Star Wars parks including Galaxy’s Edge will get remodeled to include actual Star Wars for the fans.

- Though it’s been a regular fixture of the event in the past, it appears Marvel Studios will not be attending the virtual version of the San Diego Comic-Con this year.
- According to Deadline, Marvel Studios will be sitting out the 2020 Comic-Con@Home event. Fellow comic book movie studio DC Films will also reportedly be a no-show, opting instead to save its titles for the August 2020 fan event DC Fandome.
- Despite its positive track record with SDCC, this isn’t the first time Marvel Studios has opted out of the event. Previously, the studio skipped the 2015 and 2018 editions of SDCC.
- In response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Comic-Con chose to cancel its 2020 event. This marks the first time in 51 years that the event will not be held. However, the Comic-Con@Home event was announced in May, promising “personalized snacks, free parking and no lines,” as well as access to anyone with an internet connection.
- ‘The Crown’ Will Get a Sixth Season After All, Taking the Show Into Early 2000s
- https://variety.com/2020/tv/global/netflix-the-crown-season-six-returning-imelda-staunton-1234702228/?fbclid=IwAR2VT4rqTM6D7IEruhCkAA4vQa5JYcON-iZwPPZ76eHNzhg_kZJQxEuaTDo

- More than five months after revealing “The Crown” will end after season five, Netflix has said its hit show about Britain’s Royal Family will, in fact, extend to a sixth season that will take the series into the early 2000s.
- The streaming giant announced the change of plans on Twitter on Thursday, highlighting that creator Peter Morgan wants to do justice to the “richness and complexity” of the story.
- Writer-creator Morgan said, “As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons. To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day — it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail.”
- Produced by Sony-backed Left Bank Pictures, the show wrapped shooting on season four — in which Olivia Colman plays Queen Elizabeth II — in mid-March, just ahead of the U.K. being placed in lockdown. It’s expected that season four will launch later this year, and will be Oscar winner Colman’s final turn as Queen.
- Imelda Staunton will take on those honors for season five, and the “Vera Drake” star will now have two seasons playing the monarch as opposed to just one. Last week, Netflix confirmed that Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret.
- Cindy Holland, VP of original content at Netflix said: “‘The Crown’ keeps raising the bar with each new season. We can’t wait for audiences to see the upcoming fourth season, and we’re proud to support Peter’s vision and the phenomenal cast and crew for a sixth and final season.”
- The show’s about-face is not altogether unexpected. Netflix bosses have always been enthusiastic about “The Crown” — chief content officer Ted Sarandos boasted in January that 73 million households around the world have made the show part of the “global zeitgeist” — but its future has always rested with Morgan, who has, at times, appeared fatigued by the prospect of continuing the series. It’s unclear whether his multi-year overall deal at the streaming giant for film and TV projects, struck just ahead of “The Crown’s” season three premiere last year, may have had any sway.
- On Jan. 31, when Netflix announced Staunton’s casting for a fifth and final season, Morgan said, “Now that we have begun work on the stories for season five, it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop.” At the time, the show’s fifth season was set to see the Royal Family entering the 21st century, but it appears producers will now simply add another season’s worth of stories into the timeline, perhaps allowing for more episodes focused on Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Princess Diana (Emma Corrin).

- Hamilton
- Disney Plus

- Hamilton is a 2020 American musical film comprising a live recording of the 2015 Broadway musical, in turn inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. It was directed and produced by Thomas Kail and produced, written, and composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda also stars as first Treasury Secretary and Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, along with the musical’s original principal Broadway cast.
- Hamilton was originally planned for theatrical release on October 15, 2021. However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved up and released digitally worldwide by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on Disney+ on July 3, 2020. The film was acclaimed by critics for its visuals, performances and direction.
- Divided in two acts, the musical depicts the life and career of Alexander Hamilton, an orphaned immigrant from the Caribbean island of Nevis. The first act covers Hamilton’s arrival in New York City in 1776, his work as an aide-de-camp to General George Washington during the American Revolution, and how he met and married Eliza Schuyler. The second act covers Hamilton’s postwar work as the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, his affair with Maria Reynolds, the death of his son Philip and finally his own death in a duel with Aaron Burr.

0:01:57.840,0:02:02.640
really matter absolutely
0:01:59.200,0:02:06.079
it’s not like we’re going anyplace so
0:02:02.640,0:02:09.520
no it’s sadly or not someday
0:02:06.079,0:02:11.120
uh so today on disney detective uh we’ll
0:02:09.520,0:02:14.319
be talking about
0:02:11.120,0:02:17.120
uh downtown disney reopening
0:02:14.319,0:02:18.720
uh in california correct uh even though
0:02:17.120,0:02:21.970
the park has been delayed
0:02:18.720,0:02:23.520
in their opening uh we had some
0:02:21.970,0:02:27.280
[Music]
0:02:23.520,0:02:29.200
funky stuff going on with uh
0:02:27.280,0:02:31.040
oh this is historical we can’t wait to
0:02:29.200,0:02:32.720
share it with you guys that one that one
0:02:31.040,0:02:35.360
is kind of funny
0:02:32.720,0:02:36.239
uh then we’re gonna meet the creator of
0:02:35.360,0:02:38.319
a viral
0:02:36.239,0:02:39.680
tick-tock who caught the attention of
0:02:38.319,0:02:43.120
disney’s boss
0:02:39.680,0:02:46.720
yeah interesting in our star wars
0:02:43.120,0:02:49.760
insights we’re going to talk the
0:02:46.720,0:02:52.640
rumored star wars reset which
0:02:49.760,0:02:53.840
might include the departure of a very
0:02:52.640,0:02:57.680
high level
0:02:53.840,0:02:59.200
member of lucas film yep and in our
0:02:57.680,0:03:03.040
entertainment news
0:02:59.200,0:03:05.840
we will talk some comic-con at-home
0:03:03.040,0:03:07.920
details that we have right uh some dates
0:03:05.840,0:03:10.239
and times and what’s going on
0:03:07.920,0:03:11.040
uh then we just found out that the crown
0:03:10.239,0:03:12.800
will be getting
0:03:11.040,0:03:14.239
a sixth season a show that you and i
0:03:12.800,0:03:17.200
both enjoy
0:03:14.239,0:03:18.239
we’ll talk about that and uh we will
0:03:17.200,0:03:21.680
talk about
0:03:18.239,0:03:24.159
um pbs releasing their broadway at home
0:03:21.680,0:03:28.080
schedule of great performances
0:03:24.159,0:03:29.920
uh in the wake of uh hamilton which
0:03:28.080,0:03:32.319
uh we’ll talk more about later in our
0:03:29.920,0:03:34.560
insightful picks yes we will
0:03:32.319,0:03:36.319
uh so good show uh you ready to get
0:03:34.560,0:03:39.440
going sure let’s do it
0:03:36.319,0:03:39.440
all right let’s start
0:03:41.270,0:03:46.239
[Applause]
0:03:43.360,0:03:46.959
go for disney detective so downtown
0:03:46.239,0:03:49.760
disney
0:03:46.959,0:03:51.840
in anaheim that would be disneyland
0:03:49.760,0:03:54.239
reopened on thursday
0:03:51.840,0:03:54.959
but fans still have to wait longer for
0:03:54.239,0:03:58.239
the actual
0:03:54.959,0:04:00.799
parks to open um there’s still not been
0:03:58.239,0:04:01.519
any dates yet as to when the openings
0:04:00.799,0:04:03.599
will be
0:04:01.519,0:04:04.799
they were supposed to be opening around
0:04:03.599,0:04:08.080
the 17th
0:04:04.799,0:04:09.599
but again nothing has been
0:04:08.080,0:04:11.200
agreed upon yet with the state of
0:04:09.599,0:04:13.840
california
0:04:11.200,0:04:16.639
there were you know some guests who had
0:04:13.840,0:04:19.519
actually lined up as early as 5 00 a.m
0:04:16.639,0:04:21.199
for the outdoor shopping area to open uh
0:04:19.519,0:04:23.600
at 10 a.m
0:04:21.199,0:04:24.320
some people you know they were just
0:04:23.600,0:04:26.880
itching to
0:04:24.320,0:04:28.560
to buy merchandise others it was just
0:04:26.880,0:04:30.960
something to do finally
0:04:28.560,0:04:31.840
after so long there was one person who
0:04:30.960,0:04:34.320
actually drove
0:04:31.840,0:04:35.840
90 minutes so her and her daughter could
0:04:34.320,0:04:37.520
be there for the opening
0:04:35.840,0:04:39.840
she said you know we’ve been bored at
0:04:37.520,0:04:40.479
home we can’t wait to get out and about
0:04:39.840,0:04:43.520
that’s why
0:04:40.479,0:04:45.680
you know we’re excited to to be here
0:04:43.520,0:04:48.080
guests are told that they have to wear
0:04:45.680,0:04:49.199
masks and have the temperature checks
0:04:48.080,0:04:51.600
just like
0:04:49.199,0:04:52.560
downtown disney in florida has been
0:04:51.600,0:04:55.600
doing
0:04:52.560,0:04:56.800
the district shopping hours will be from
0:04:55.600,0:05:00.000
10 to 8
0:04:56.800,0:05:01.919
and some individual areas might have
0:05:00.000,0:05:04.720
different times
0:05:01.919,0:05:06.080
so again the the dates for the theme
0:05:04.720,0:05:08.639
park actually opening
0:05:06.080,0:05:09.440
are still up in the air nothing’s been
0:05:08.639,0:05:12.400
planned yet
0:05:09.440,0:05:14.880
but obviously everybody is you know
0:05:12.400,0:05:17.360
itching for it to open but unfortunately
0:05:14.880,0:05:18.639
california’s had a spike you know in
0:05:17.360,0:05:21.120
their numbers
0:05:18.639,0:05:22.960
um so that’s why you know a lot of
0:05:21.120,0:05:26.000
things are on hold
0:05:22.960,0:05:28.000
and to mention
0:05:26.000,0:05:29.120
as we’ve been talking about walt disney
0:05:28.000,0:05:33.039
world in
0:05:29.120,0:05:34.479
orlando opened today for the public they
0:05:33.039,0:05:37.199
were doing
0:05:34.479,0:05:38.240
cast member previews for two days then
0:05:37.199,0:05:41.280
they had
0:05:38.240,0:05:43.680
a annual pass holder day
0:05:41.280,0:05:44.479
for a couple of days and then today was
0:05:43.680,0:05:48.560
the first
0:05:44.479,0:05:52.080
official day for animal kingdom
0:05:48.560,0:05:54.080
and for magic kingdom where the other
0:05:52.080,0:05:56.639
two parks will be opening in a couple of
0:05:54.080,0:05:58.319
days and
0:05:56.639,0:06:00.240
there were a couple of stories that came
0:05:58.319,0:06:02.960
out with that
0:06:00.240,0:06:04.880
where you know for the most part
0:06:02.960,0:06:05.759
everybody’s behaving everybody’s
0:06:04.880,0:06:08.160
following
0:06:05.759,0:06:11.039
their guidelines they’ve you know made
0:06:08.160,0:06:12.240
some changes to like the cue areas for
0:06:11.039,0:06:14.240
certain rides
0:06:12.240,0:06:15.360
where you know you kind of go up and
0:06:14.240,0:06:18.319
down up and down
0:06:15.360,0:06:19.680
well they’ve actually put plexiglass
0:06:18.319,0:06:21.680
dividers
0:06:19.680,0:06:22.800
so when you’re passing by the other
0:06:21.680,0:06:26.240
people
0:06:22.800,0:06:26.720
you can contaminate those people and
0:06:26.240,0:06:30.319
they have
0:06:26.720,0:06:33.360
markings um they actually even put up
0:06:30.319,0:06:36.479
barriers on the monorail as well so
0:06:33.360,0:06:37.440
each compartment of the monorail has a
0:06:36.479,0:06:39.120
barrier
0:06:37.440,0:06:40.960
now as well and obviously they’re not
0:06:39.120,0:06:44.639
putting as many people
0:06:40.960,0:06:46.080
in certain rides so wait times are kind
0:06:44.639,0:06:48.400
of up right now
0:06:46.080,0:06:49.599
because you know they’re taking the time
0:06:48.400,0:06:52.240
to clean
0:06:49.599,0:06:54.720
um but so far all the reports that i’ve
0:06:52.240,0:06:57.520
seen from you know from today
0:06:54.720,0:06:58.479
seem to be you know positive and
0:06:57.520,0:07:00.000
everybody’s
0:06:58.479,0:07:02.319
you know following the rules and they
0:07:00.000,0:07:04.160
have signs posted all over and it’s
0:07:02.319,0:07:06.319
basically it’s not a suggestion
0:07:04.160,0:07:07.680
this is the rule if you want to be here
0:07:06.319,0:07:12.400
you have to follow
0:07:07.680,0:07:15.120
the rule so so downtown disney in
0:07:12.400,0:07:16.240
anaheim that’s a much smaller footprint
0:07:15.120,0:07:19.199
than disney springs
0:07:16.240,0:07:20.319
yes because we’ve only been there once
0:07:19.199,0:07:23.120
and if you recall
0:07:20.319,0:07:25.280
you know when we were staying at uh the
0:07:23.120,0:07:27.039
grand californian resort basically we
0:07:25.280,0:07:29.919
walked outside and it was like oh
0:07:27.039,0:07:32.160
right disney downtown disney that kind
0:07:29.919,0:07:34.560
of brings me to my next question
0:07:32.160,0:07:35.199
when they went and redid uh disney
0:07:34.560,0:07:38.479
springs
0:07:35.199,0:07:41.919
in florida there’s a much
0:07:38.479,0:07:44.080
more controllable flow of traffic
0:07:41.919,0:07:44.960
from it right how does that work at
0:07:44.080,0:07:46.720
downtown disney
0:07:44.960,0:07:49.280
yeah regulating at the same time i’m
0:07:46.720,0:07:52.319
guessing they’re probably doing
0:07:49.280,0:07:54.240
the same thing i’m sure from you know
0:07:52.319,0:07:55.759
because if you kind of remember there
0:07:54.240,0:07:57.759
was really like
0:07:55.759,0:08:00.160
two ways to get in unless you came from
0:07:57.759,0:08:01.120
the hotel like i’d have to look at a map
0:08:00.160,0:08:03.919
to see
0:08:01.120,0:08:05.520
but i was pretty sure that if you were
0:08:03.919,0:08:07.440
at the parking
0:08:05.520,0:08:09.680
area on one side and parking area on the
0:08:07.440,0:08:10.879
other i don’t think you could really get
0:08:09.680,0:08:12.639
in and out
0:08:10.879,0:08:15.039
any other way and what they’ve probably
0:08:12.639,0:08:18.639
done is blocked off
0:08:15.039,0:08:21.120
you know areas where if you could
0:08:18.639,0:08:22.960
say park over here and walk to here they
0:08:21.120,0:08:24.800
probably have that blocked off so that
0:08:22.960,0:08:26.319
you have to go through
0:08:24.800,0:08:28.160
a certain area which like you were
0:08:26.319,0:08:31.680
saying when they redid
0:08:28.160,0:08:32.880
downtown disney in orlando there isn’t a
0:08:31.680,0:08:35.839
big giant
0:08:32.880,0:08:38.159
parking lot you’ve got you kind of
0:08:35.839,0:08:41.120
garages
0:08:38.159,0:08:42.479
right that have specific entrances and
0:08:41.120,0:08:44.399
i’m guessing that’s
0:08:42.479,0:08:45.519
probably they’ve done something like
0:08:44.399,0:08:48.080
that to
0:08:45.519,0:08:48.800
you know hoard off people from being
0:08:48.080,0:08:51.760
able to
0:08:48.800,0:08:53.680
get in without being being checked now a
0:08:51.760,0:08:54.560
couple of weeks ago we talked about the
0:08:53.680,0:08:56.720
new
0:08:54.560,0:08:57.760
scanners that they were using right they
0:08:56.720,0:08:59.920
were testing in
0:08:57.760,0:09:01.680
uh disney springs are they using these
0:08:59.920,0:09:02.720
in california too or i didn’t see
0:09:01.680,0:09:05.519
anything about
0:09:02.720,0:09:06.080
them using them in california i did
0:09:05.519,0:09:09.200
there was
0:09:06.080,0:09:11.360
one little mention about um
0:09:09.200,0:09:13.440
temperature checks this morning for the
0:09:11.360,0:09:14.800
park and it seemed like it was going
0:09:13.440,0:09:17.760
very smoothly
0:09:14.800,0:09:18.880
so i don’t know if they’ve you know if
0:09:17.760,0:09:22.000
it was actual
0:09:18.880,0:09:24.880
you know people doing because they were
0:09:22.000,0:09:25.360
obviously doing uh touchless touchless
0:09:24.880,0:09:28.720
um
0:09:25.360,0:09:29.200
so i don’t know how you know if they
0:09:28.720,0:09:31.360
were
0:09:29.200,0:09:32.800
incorporating nobody’s really mentioned
0:09:31.360,0:09:35.360
anything about those
0:09:32.800,0:09:37.040
machines since they had them obviously
0:09:35.360,0:09:39.120
down at downtown disney so
0:09:37.040,0:09:41.760
okay well hopefully if this works out
0:09:39.120,0:09:44.640
well and and everyone stays safe and
0:09:41.760,0:09:46.160
you know this is uh our first step to
0:09:44.640,0:09:48.080
some semblance of
0:09:46.160,0:09:50.800
and that’s the thing is in florida their
0:09:48.080,0:09:53.200
numbers have been spiking too so
0:09:50.800,0:09:54.399
it’ll be interesting to see with this
0:09:53.200,0:09:57.680
opening up
0:09:54.399,0:09:59.360
how do the numbers yeah look so well
0:09:57.680,0:10:02.839
hopefully people will stay safe
0:09:59.360,0:10:04.560
hopefully yeah tell us about carousel of
0:10:02.839,0:10:07.440
progress so
0:10:04.560,0:10:07.920
walt disney world obviously just opened
0:10:07.440,0:10:10.000
today
0:10:07.920,0:10:13.040
but they were having the previews as we
0:10:10.000,0:10:13.600
mentioned um so a video had surfaced the
0:10:13.040,0:10:16.320
other day
0:10:13.600,0:10:16.880
of the carousel of progress having some
0:10:16.320,0:10:19.040
minor
0:10:16.880,0:10:20.079
issues with one of the audio animatronic
0:10:19.040,0:10:23.360
characters
0:10:20.079,0:10:26.160
uh of john who’s the patriarch of the
0:10:23.360,0:10:27.519
the ride uh and he was kind of having a
0:10:26.160,0:10:30.160
little
0:10:27.519,0:10:32.079
seizure i guess that’s probably the best
0:10:30.160,0:10:34.560
way to describe
0:10:32.079,0:10:35.680
so you know so what was funny was there
0:10:34.560,0:10:38.959
was um
0:10:35.680,0:10:42.480
one of the one of the disney twitter
0:10:38.959,0:10:46.240
pages magic blitz podcast
0:10:42.480,0:10:49.279
actually had put the original uh
0:10:46.240,0:10:49.760
video of it well of course people had to
0:10:49.279,0:10:52.959
go
0:10:49.760,0:10:56.560
and over dub uh with some
0:10:52.959,0:10:58.560
some music to kind of uh make it uh
0:10:56.560,0:11:01.600
a little bit better so we’ll uh we’ll
0:10:58.560,0:11:04.079
play one of those uh
0:11:01.600,0:11:05.279
i don’t know if the video’s on this uh
0:11:04.079,0:11:07.360
it should be
0:11:05.279,0:11:08.480
yeah go all the way down all the way
0:11:07.360,0:11:13.839
down
0:11:08.480,0:11:13.839
it was okay it was on the page
0:11:16.160,0:11:20.800
technical difficulties i guess we should
0:11:17.839,0:11:20.800
check that beforehand
0:11:21.600,0:11:24.880
oh you know what they’re where the
0:11:23.120,0:11:29.839
little things are
0:11:24.880,0:11:29.839
the uh
0:11:32.160,0:11:38.959
okay well oh maybe if you click on the
0:11:35.920,0:11:39.920
the one link where it said go down go
0:11:38.959,0:11:43.600
down
0:11:39.920,0:11:45.760
click on that one this one this one
0:11:43.600,0:11:48.320
this one no this one yeah see if that
0:11:45.760,0:11:48.320
will do it
0:11:48.560,0:11:57.040
yeah oh you need the volume
0:11:52.240,0:11:57.040
well i have it muted well anyway
0:12:02.550,0:12:07.920
[Music]
0:12:05.920,0:12:09.600
it gets better and better each time so
0:12:07.920,0:12:12.800
yeah so that’s the actual
0:12:09.600,0:12:16.800
video he was shaking you know
0:12:12.800,0:12:20.240
so the so this is obviously uh
0:12:16.800,0:12:23.040
um from hamilton so it was kind of funny
0:12:20.240,0:12:24.079
because hamilton obviously uh released
0:12:23.040,0:12:27.519
and then there was also
0:12:24.079,0:12:29.839
one uh to queen bohemian rhapsody
0:12:27.519,0:12:31.760
and it was basically like here was his
0:12:29.839,0:12:34.880
audition tape to become part of
0:12:31.760,0:12:39.360
uh queen so it was nice that people uh
0:12:34.880,0:12:40.160
had fun with technical difficulty well
0:12:39.360,0:12:43.279
and you know
0:12:40.160,0:12:45.279
audio animatronics themselves are
0:12:43.279,0:12:46.959
problematic because of right you know
0:12:45.279,0:12:48.320
how they work you know you remember the
0:12:46.959,0:12:50.320
stories of
0:12:48.320,0:12:52.720
when they were doing lincoln right and
0:12:50.320,0:12:55.760
the first time
0:12:52.720,0:12:58.240
delegation in to actually see
0:12:55.760,0:12:59.920
you know right right what what was the
0:12:58.240,0:13:02.160
uh attraction
0:12:59.920,0:13:03.680
oh it was moments with lincoln moments
0:13:02.160,0:13:06.399
with lincoln right and
0:13:03.680,0:13:07.279
they were using uh red hydraulic fluid
0:13:06.399,0:13:10.320
right right
0:13:07.279,0:13:11.519
and they had a leak and all of a sudden
0:13:10.320,0:13:14.560
lincoln starts
0:13:11.519,0:13:16.240
bleeding on stage so they were they
0:13:14.560,0:13:16.800
successfully recreated the lincoln
0:13:16.240,0:13:19.920
assassin
0:13:16.800,0:13:20.639
right right yeah so you know so the big
0:13:19.920,0:13:23.600
joke was
0:13:20.639,0:13:25.200
obviously you know the the audio
0:13:23.600,0:13:25.680
animatronics haven’t been used in a
0:13:25.200,0:13:28.320
while
0:13:25.680,0:13:28.720
they were trying to loosen themselves up
0:13:28.320,0:13:31.600
for
0:13:28.720,0:13:33.120
for everybody and you know putting on a
0:13:31.600,0:13:36.160
live show like we do
0:13:33.120,0:13:37.600
uh you know several times a week oh yeah
0:13:36.160,0:13:39.040
i can totally sympathize with the
0:13:37.600,0:13:40.079
technical difficulties in the
0:13:39.040,0:13:42.480
embarrassing
0:13:40.079,0:13:43.120
yeah yeah so at least like his head
0:13:42.480,0:13:46.320
didn’t pop
0:13:43.120,0:13:48.880
off or anything so yeah
0:13:46.320,0:13:51.120
so so some fun little humor with that
0:13:48.880,0:13:53.279
all right so tell us about our viral
0:13:51.120,0:13:54.639
tick tock so right before the long
0:13:53.279,0:13:57.360
holiday weekend
0:13:54.639,0:13:58.160
a 20 year old georgia state university
0:13:57.360,0:14:01.279
student
0:13:58.160,0:14:03.279
uh julian bass shared a tick tock video
0:14:01.279,0:14:04.560
on his twitter account and asked people
0:14:03.279,0:14:06.399
to retweet it
0:14:04.560,0:14:08.160
basically saying enough times that
0:14:06.399,0:14:10.639
disney calls
0:14:08.160,0:14:12.320
and his gamble actually paid off a few
0:14:10.639,0:14:14.720
days after sending out
0:14:12.320,0:14:17.040
the video on social media disney and
0:14:14.720,0:14:20.160
plenty of others came calling
0:14:17.040,0:14:23.600
um so it’s amazing
0:14:20.160,0:14:24.000
what technology you know is out there
0:14:23.600,0:14:27.199
and the
0:14:24.000,0:14:30.240
the video editing and everything um so
0:14:27.199,0:14:32.720
he did this little video transformation
0:14:30.240,0:14:34.320
and and we can play it um i’m okay to
0:14:32.720,0:14:45.839
play this one sure you can play it
0:14:34.320,0:14:45.839
go ahead
0:14:46.070,0:14:54.369
[Music]
0:14:56.839,0:15:01.279
hmm all right
0:14:58.480,0:15:02.399
so that’s pretty cool 20 second video
0:15:01.279,0:15:04.880
pretty darn cool
0:15:02.399,0:15:05.839
for you know this 20 year old kid you
0:15:04.880,0:15:07.920
know that did it
0:15:05.839,0:15:09.360
and he basically said that he uh learned
0:15:07.920,0:15:11.760
fx and filmmaking
0:15:09.360,0:15:13.279
on his own for the most part and that
0:15:11.760,0:15:13.839
you know it was trial and error and
0:15:13.279,0:15:15.920
learning
0:15:13.839,0:15:17.760
you know from experience he said he
0:15:15.920,0:15:18.639
hadn’t taken any film classes or
0:15:17.760,0:15:20.880
anything
0:15:18.639,0:15:22.560
and it basically just started out as an
0:15:20.880,0:15:24.560
exercise for him to do
0:15:22.560,0:15:26.560
uh he said you know i wanted to try
0:15:24.560,0:15:30.399
something new i always liked
0:15:26.560,0:15:31.279
you know ben 10 aliens and and doing cgi
0:15:30.399,0:15:33.839
stuff and
0:15:31.279,0:15:35.199
and the lightsaber and it just kind of
0:15:33.839,0:15:36.800
went along with the song and he just
0:15:35.199,0:15:39.360
kind of made it well
0:15:36.800,0:15:41.120
other people noticed so he ended up
0:15:39.360,0:15:42.399
getting comments from oscar winner
0:15:41.120,0:15:46.240
matthew cherry
0:15:42.399,0:15:49.680
um actor josh gad um muvio’s
0:15:46.240,0:15:53.040
movie studio sony even made a comment um
0:15:49.680,0:15:54.800
ben 10 voice actor tara strong as well
0:15:53.040,0:15:55.920
as guardians of the galaxy director
0:15:54.800,0:15:59.279
james gunn
0:15:55.920,0:16:02.399
and actor zach braff who actually urged
0:15:59.279,0:16:04.800
gunn hey you need to hire this guy um
0:16:02.399,0:16:05.680
luke skywalker himself mark hamill even
0:16:04.800,0:16:09.440
liked it
0:16:05.680,0:16:11.759
um and into uh the spider
0:16:09.440,0:16:12.560
into the spider verse director took
0:16:11.759,0:16:15.920
notice of
0:16:12.560,0:16:17.839
the video and the fan campaign to you
0:16:15.920,0:16:21.120
know get disney to
0:16:17.839,0:16:23.600
you know like hey and even to bring the
0:16:21.120,0:16:24.560
live-action version of miles morales
0:16:23.600,0:16:27.120
they were like hey
0:16:24.560,0:16:28.160
he would make a good one um and
0:16:27.120,0:16:30.959
obviously
0:16:28.160,0:16:32.560
it didn’t stop there he actually did end
0:16:30.959,0:16:35.120
up hearing from
0:16:32.560,0:16:36.000
bob iger himself basically saying the
0:16:35.120,0:16:39.839
world’s going to know
0:16:36.000,0:16:42.320
your name so that’s pretty cool
0:16:39.839,0:16:43.279
that’s pretty cool a nice little you
0:16:42.320,0:16:46.560
know again
0:16:43.279,0:16:49.440
little video he made 20 second long
0:16:46.560,0:16:50.880
and which you know that 20 seconds
0:16:49.440,0:16:54.240
probably took him
0:16:50.880,0:16:56.160
40 or 50 hours to go i’m sure i’m sure
0:16:54.240,0:16:57.519
but you know pretty cool that you know
0:16:56.160,0:17:01.440
he said hey
0:16:57.519,0:17:03.519
if disney calls and disney called
0:17:01.440,0:17:04.640
that is very cool that’s a great story
0:17:03.519,0:17:07.039
yeah
0:17:04.640,0:17:07.919
so that was all we had for uh daisy
0:17:07.039,0:17:10.640
detective
0:17:07.919,0:17:11.600
we’ll be back uh in a minute with our
0:17:10.640,0:17:13.520
star wars
0:17:11.600,0:17:18.730
insights okay did i get it right that
0:17:13.520,0:17:22.249
time i think so yeah
0:17:18.730,0:17:22.249

0:18:26.000,0:18:32.400
go for star wars insider insights
0:18:29.360,0:18:32.400
damn it again
0:18:34.080,0:18:38.320
oh that was awesome
0:18:38.400,0:18:41.360
should we try that again
0:18:42.640,0:18:46.799
so this was a story i just want to start
0:18:46.000,0:18:50.400
off in saying
0:18:46.799,0:18:53.440
this is total speculation
0:18:50.400,0:18:55.760
not sure what’s real what’s not
0:18:53.440,0:18:56.960
but we figured we would we it’s a good
0:18:55.760,0:18:58.960
topic to talk about
0:18:56.960,0:19:00.640
yes fortunately we’re not actual news so
0:18:58.960,0:19:02.160
we can put figures right we can put fake
0:19:00.640,0:19:05.919
news and totally make it real
0:19:02.160,0:19:09.200
uh so star wars reset includes
0:19:05.919,0:19:12.160
kathleen kennedy stepping down
0:19:09.200,0:19:12.799
maybe so it’s claimed that kathleen
0:19:12.160,0:19:15.120
kennedy
0:19:12.799,0:19:16.559
may be stepping down from lucasfilms to
0:19:15.120,0:19:19.280
start her own
0:19:16.559,0:19:21.200
female-centric production company which
0:19:19.280,0:19:23.200
follows the rumor that disney is
0:19:21.200,0:19:26.559
resetting star wars
0:19:23.200,0:19:27.440
details about all of this are coming
0:19:26.559,0:19:30.640
from
0:19:27.440,0:19:34.000
a certain youtuber um
0:19:30.640,0:19:38.400
lord doomcock from the dark lord
0:19:34.000,0:19:39.039
dvd um so he’s the one that when we were
0:19:38.400,0:19:42.799
talking
0:19:39.039,0:19:46.160
uh the other week about the whole um
0:19:42.799,0:19:49.360
veil of um fail of the force and
0:19:46.160,0:19:51.039
and that was all him so it seems he he’s
0:19:49.360,0:19:54.480
kind of
0:19:51.039,0:19:58.559
known for a lot of the rumor mill
0:19:54.480,0:20:02.000
of of star wars and he seems to have
0:19:58.559,0:20:05.039
different contacts with lucas films
0:20:02.000,0:20:08.720
he was the one that basically revealed
0:20:05.039,0:20:12.480
all of the spoilers of rise of skywalker
0:20:08.720,0:20:15.760
that were actually correct he even
0:20:12.480,0:20:18.480
had information i guess
0:20:15.760,0:20:20.000
that was going on with brie larson and
0:20:18.480,0:20:23.280
the captain marvel sequel
0:20:20.000,0:20:25.600
which i guess again came out to be true
0:20:23.280,0:20:26.799
so it’s one of those do you believe
0:20:25.600,0:20:29.280
everything he says
0:20:26.799,0:20:31.200
or you know it’s kind of take it with a
0:20:29.280,0:20:33.760
grain of salt type thing
0:20:31.200,0:20:34.320
but basically he’s gone on record saying
0:20:33.760,0:20:36.400
that
0:20:34.320,0:20:38.559
sources have filled him in on a secret
0:20:36.400,0:20:41.440
plan that’s in the works to stay
0:20:38.559,0:20:42.720
to save star wars that involves some
0:20:41.440,0:20:45.919
sort of star wars
0:20:42.720,0:20:46.480
civil war taking place at lucas films
0:20:45.919,0:20:48.559
between
0:20:46.480,0:20:50.480
kathleen kennedy and those that are
0:20:48.559,0:20:53.840
loyal to george lucas
0:20:50.480,0:20:57.520
and john favreau and dave filoni
0:20:53.840,0:20:58.320
so you know basically he he was talking
0:20:57.520,0:20:59.600
about
0:20:58.320,0:21:01.280
what we were even talking about the
0:20:59.600,0:21:02.880
other week about the whole veil of the
0:21:01.280,0:21:06.080
force which would basically
0:21:02.880,0:21:09.280
kind of wipe out everything
0:21:06.080,0:21:12.559
from the most recent trilogy
0:21:09.280,0:21:13.760
and make it non-canon and basically wipe
0:21:12.559,0:21:16.320
out
0:21:13.760,0:21:17.280
you know all all that she’s done
0:21:16.320,0:21:19.440
basically
0:21:17.280,0:21:21.840
um you know he said that kathleen
0:21:19.440,0:21:22.240
kennedy’s reign of terror is almost at
0:21:21.840,0:21:24.320
an
0:21:22.240,0:21:25.840
end i’ve been sitting on this
0:21:24.320,0:21:28.400
information for weeks now
0:21:25.840,0:21:28.880
seeking further confirmation but at this
0:21:28.400,0:21:30.960
point
0:21:28.880,0:21:32.960
i’ve had enough from various i’ve heard
0:21:30.960,0:21:33.919
enough from various viewpoints to credit
0:21:32.960,0:21:38.240
this rumor
0:21:33.919,0:21:41.760
may have some validity to it um
0:21:38.240,0:21:45.360
you know so again you know like we were
0:21:41.760,0:21:48.640
were saying is that is this true
0:21:45.360,0:21:50.320
is it not has star wars really been all
0:21:48.640,0:21:53.679
that bad since she’s
0:21:50.320,0:21:54.240
been at the helm probably not you know
0:21:53.679,0:21:57.760
while
0:21:54.240,0:22:01.360
the movies weren’t as successful as they
0:21:57.760,0:22:04.799
wanted to be or as fans
0:22:01.360,0:22:06.480
wanted them to be there’s plenty of
0:22:04.799,0:22:08.799
other things that have come out that
0:22:06.480,0:22:11.520
have been very successful
0:22:08.799,0:22:12.320
under her realm and like you had
0:22:11.520,0:22:14.159
mentioned
0:22:12.320,0:22:15.440
it’s not like she wrote the movies it
0:22:14.159,0:22:18.799
wasn’t
0:22:15.440,0:22:20.240
her you know hand in it that’s that’s
0:22:18.799,0:22:22.799
kind of my take on it like kathleen
0:22:20.240,0:22:25.679
kennedy has been involved with lucasfilm
0:22:22.799,0:22:26.000
for a very long time for people to think
0:22:25.679,0:22:29.600
that
0:22:26.000,0:22:30.559
she just came in to run it under the
0:22:29.600,0:22:33.120
disney
0:22:30.559,0:22:33.919
umbrella is that’s totally fictitious
0:22:33.120,0:22:36.960
right
0:22:33.919,0:22:37.919
she’s been working with lucas for
0:22:36.960,0:22:41.440
decades now
0:22:37.919,0:22:43.679
so she’s well ingrained in
0:22:41.440,0:22:45.600
star wars and the philosophies
0:22:43.679,0:22:48.240
associated with it
0:22:45.600,0:22:49.840
the heritage associated with it so she’s
0:22:48.240,0:22:51.840
not like some fresh-faced
0:22:49.840,0:22:54.799
disney executive who came in and ruined
0:22:51.840,0:22:56.799
it for everybody right so let’s dispel
0:22:54.799,0:22:59.919
that rumor right there
0:22:56.799,0:23:02.559
second she didn’t ruin it i mean the
0:22:59.919,0:23:03.280
as much as i rail against a couple of
0:23:02.559,0:23:06.799
the
0:23:03.280,0:23:10.080
you know the sequel trilogies
0:23:06.799,0:23:13.840
they were financially massive successes
0:23:10.080,0:23:16.480
so it’s not a failure okay first of all
0:23:13.840,0:23:18.720
there’s mixed feelings for sure but
0:23:16.480,0:23:21.280
stepping outside of the realm of the
0:23:18.720,0:23:22.159
sequel trilogies you have other things
0:23:21.280,0:23:26.559
that were
0:23:22.159,0:23:26.559
incredibly well done like solo
0:23:26.960,0:23:32.880
all right so not maybe not solo um
0:23:30.240,0:23:35.039
how about rogue one rogue one uh rogue
0:23:32.880,0:23:37.919
one was fantastic
0:23:35.039,0:23:39.120
the mandalorian uh she resurrected the
0:23:37.919,0:23:42.159
clone wars
0:23:39.120,0:23:44.000
which disney had shut down uh
0:23:42.159,0:23:45.919
when they acquired lucas without
0:23:44.000,0:23:47.600
consulting with anyone from lucas the
0:23:45.919,0:23:50.799
original lucasfilm so
0:23:47.600,0:23:53.279
she saved that you know we got
0:23:50.799,0:23:55.120
rebels we got you know a number of
0:23:53.279,0:23:58.480
things under her watch
0:23:55.120,0:24:00.640
have been very well handled the one
0:23:58.480,0:24:02.880
thing i think that concerned me
0:24:00.640,0:24:04.320
more than anything about the article
0:24:02.880,0:24:07.440
itself
0:24:04.320,0:24:09.360
was the author
0:24:07.440,0:24:10.880
the rumor monger that we have we’ll call
0:24:09.360,0:24:13.200
him was
0:24:10.880,0:24:13.200
very
0:24:13.919,0:24:22.960
spoke very derogatory about her
0:24:19.360,0:24:26.480
insistence on having um more
0:24:22.960,0:24:30.840
defined female presence in the
0:24:26.480,0:24:33.919
company and on film right
0:24:30.840,0:24:34.640
and that to me was more disturbing than
0:24:33.919,0:24:36.880
anything
0:24:34.640,0:24:39.440
that the the author of this article was
0:24:36.880,0:24:42.480
really that
0:24:39.440,0:24:45.520
it’s almost like he took the
0:24:42.480,0:24:47.600
feminism that she brought to star wars
0:24:45.520,0:24:51.039
and is trying to use that against
0:24:47.600,0:24:52.640
yeah when in reality you and like you
0:24:51.039,0:24:56.240
and i spoke
0:24:52.640,0:24:58.880
lucas was always one who
0:24:56.240,0:25:00.000
cast very powerful female character
0:24:58.880,0:25:02.640
roles
0:25:00.000,0:25:03.520
uh you look not many like you pointed
0:25:02.640,0:25:05.840
out right there
0:25:03.520,0:25:07.279
the thing is there was basically one per
0:25:05.840,0:25:10.880
movie but
0:25:07.279,0:25:13.760
the one that you had was the ultimate
0:25:10.880,0:25:14.080
power in leia you know leia was the boss
0:25:13.760,0:25:17.919
of
0:25:14.080,0:25:20.400
all of you know the original trilogy
0:25:17.919,0:25:22.080
and and she maintained that moving
0:25:20.400,0:25:25.360
forward
0:25:22.080,0:25:26.159
so for kathleen kennedy to continue to
0:25:25.360,0:25:28.679
want to have
0:25:26.159,0:25:30.720
powerful female roles is not
0:25:28.679,0:25:34.000
uncharacteristic maybe we had more than
0:25:30.720,0:25:34.000
we would have had normally
0:25:34.480,0:25:38.880
but it wasn’t like a complete
0:25:38.960,0:25:42.480
shift in philosophy and to latch onto
0:25:42.080,0:25:45.840
that
0:25:42.480,0:25:48.480
and to to you know label this as a reign
0:25:45.840,0:25:48.480
of terror
0:25:48.720,0:25:53.520
that’s just being child could the movies
0:25:52.320,0:25:56.720
have been done better
0:25:53.520,0:25:59.360
absolutely would i cry
0:25:56.720,0:26:00.720
if they decided to phase out last jedi
0:25:59.360,0:26:03.600
and pretend that it never happened
0:26:00.720,0:26:05.600
absolutely not last jedi and rise of
0:26:03.600,0:26:07.760
skywalker were just terrible terrible
0:26:05.600,0:26:10.159
movies
0:26:07.760,0:26:12.080
force awakens was a good start and they
0:26:10.159,0:26:14.080
never really went down that path they
0:26:12.080,0:26:16.159
kind of handcuffed
0:26:14.080,0:26:17.840
j.j abrams by the time he got to rise of
0:26:16.159,0:26:19.840
skywalker
0:26:17.840,0:26:22.000
but the blame for that lies entirely on
0:26:19.840,0:26:24.320
the shoulders of ryan johnson
0:26:22.000,0:26:26.559
that disaster of a movie that he put out
0:26:24.320,0:26:29.840
with last jedi should have never
0:26:26.559,0:26:30.960
never left the cutting room floor i mean
0:26:29.840,0:26:32.960
it really shouldn’t
0:26:30.960,0:26:34.000
and to attribute that failure to
0:26:32.960,0:26:35.600
kathleen kennedy
0:26:34.000,0:26:37.039
i think kennedy’s not the only person
0:26:35.600,0:26:38.080
that signed off on that movie i’ll tell
0:26:37.039,0:26:41.279
you that right now right
0:26:38.080,0:26:42.799
exactly so every disney executive needs
0:26:41.279,0:26:43.360
to take the heat for that movie if
0:26:42.799,0:26:44.720
you’re gonna
0:26:43.360,0:26:46.480
if you’re gonna bring it down kathleen
0:26:44.720,0:26:48.799
kennedy yeah now
0:26:46.480,0:26:50.159
whether or not she is going to leave you
0:26:48.799,0:26:50.799
know a lot of the stuff to talk about in
0:26:50.159,0:26:52.640
the article
0:26:50.799,0:26:54.720
kind of makes sense with the timing and
0:26:52.640,0:26:55.120
her contract right her contract is
0:26:54.720,0:26:58.480
moving
0:26:55.120,0:26:59.840
up in 2021 so moving celebration
0:26:58.480,0:27:01.600
and you know the way that they’re
0:26:59.840,0:27:03.279
planning the next phase of the star wars
0:27:01.600,0:27:05.440
and the timing with that
0:27:03.279,0:27:07.919
a lot of it makes sense you know this
0:27:05.440,0:27:09.600
could be just a matter of
0:27:07.919,0:27:10.960
picking up a lot of different clues and
0:27:09.600,0:27:11.520
trying to put the pieces of the puzzle
0:27:10.960,0:27:15.679
together
0:27:11.520,0:27:18.960
right and it’s almost like nostradamus
0:27:15.679,0:27:21.760
okay right so you’re making these vague
0:27:18.960,0:27:22.640
you know predictions and something
0:27:21.760,0:27:24.799
similar that
0:27:22.640,0:27:26.720
is probably going to happen right
0:27:24.799,0:27:27.360
kathleen kennedy’s not going to stay
0:27:26.720,0:27:29.840
there all the
0:27:27.360,0:27:30.559
you know for right for entire life right
0:27:29.840,0:27:32.880
right
0:27:30.559,0:27:34.159
so when she leaves is this guy going to
0:27:32.880,0:27:37.760
tout his horn and say hey
0:27:34.159,0:27:41.520
oh i told you so right right you know so
0:27:37.760,0:27:43.520
we’ll see what happens um i think the
0:27:41.520,0:27:45.919
future that he portrays in this article
0:27:43.520,0:27:47.440
is interesting
0:27:45.919,0:27:49.200
and i’d be curious to see where star
0:27:47.440,0:27:52.880
wars goes
0:27:49.200,0:27:53.679
from here out but to label star wars as
0:27:52.880,0:27:56.000
dead
0:27:53.679,0:27:57.279
and a dying franchise and that was the
0:27:56.000,0:28:00.399
thing failure
0:27:57.279,0:28:03.440
even in his other article it was oh it’s
0:28:00.399,0:28:06.080
dying and we’re like uh mandalorian like
0:28:03.440,0:28:07.840
have you have you watched disney places
0:28:06.080,0:28:09.440
like and all the other projects that are
0:28:07.840,0:28:11.279
in the works with obi-wan
0:28:09.440,0:28:12.480
and cassie and andor and all the other
0:28:11.279,0:28:16.240
stuff right
0:28:12.480,0:28:18.799
this is a passionate fan of
0:28:16.240,0:28:20.720
the original trilogy right and nothing
0:28:18.799,0:28:22.480
doesn’t like the fact that somebody came
0:28:20.720,0:28:23.279
in and played in his sandbox and broke
0:28:22.480,0:28:26.320
his toy
0:28:23.279,0:28:27.840
yeah that doesn’t necessarily mean that
0:28:26.320,0:28:30.880
what he’s saying is
0:28:27.840,0:28:34.399
wrong or completely far-fetched right
0:28:30.880,0:28:36.399
but clearly he’s biased in some of his
0:28:34.399,0:28:37.760
views on this right and one of the other
0:28:36.399,0:28:40.000
ones which
0:28:37.760,0:28:42.320
again was just kind of funny was that an
0:28:40.000,0:28:45.440
additional rumor was that star wars
0:28:42.320,0:28:46.799
parks that have galaxy’s edge or disney
0:28:45.440,0:28:50.080
parks obviously
0:28:46.799,0:28:52.559
um would be remodeled to include actual
0:28:50.080,0:28:53.679
star wars for the fans and i’m thinking
0:28:52.559,0:28:56.640
but it
0:28:53.679,0:28:58.720
does have star wars it just doesn’t have
0:28:56.640,0:29:01.760
the original
0:28:58.720,0:29:02.880
characters honestly that’s a problem
0:29:01.760,0:29:05.840
that i have is that i
0:29:02.880,0:29:06.880
can’t go to galaxy’s edge and see darth
0:29:05.840,0:29:10.159
vader walk
0:29:06.880,0:29:12.559
right and that bothers me right because
0:29:10.159,0:29:13.279
you’re not giving me star wars you’re
0:29:12.559,0:29:15.760
giving me
0:29:13.279,0:29:16.640
disney’s version of star wars right so
0:29:15.760,0:29:20.320
that i could
0:29:16.640,0:29:23.840
see you know in a year or so
0:29:20.320,0:29:26.640
then maybe you know revamping it
0:29:23.840,0:29:28.159
to add well and the thing that you know
0:29:26.640,0:29:29.919
speaking of the parks
0:29:28.159,0:29:32.640
specifically the thing that’s really
0:29:29.919,0:29:36.159
funny is that before
0:29:32.640,0:29:37.200
galaxy’s edge opened you had all those
0:29:36.159,0:29:38.640
characters right
0:29:37.200,0:29:40.640
they’d walk around the park they would
0:29:38.640,0:29:41.200
do shows they would do parades they were
0:29:40.640,0:29:43.440
there
0:29:41.200,0:29:44.480
right and then when galaxy’s edge opened
0:29:43.440,0:29:47.760
that all went away
0:29:44.480,0:29:49.840
well no you still see darth vader
0:29:47.760,0:29:51.440
you just don’t see him in galaxy’s edge
0:29:49.840,0:29:53.679
you see him by star tour
0:29:51.440,0:29:55.200
but they did away with all of right
0:29:53.679,0:29:56.799
parades and the show
0:29:55.200,0:29:59.120
the street shows and all that stuff as
0:29:56.799,0:30:00.720
well right right
0:29:59.120,0:30:02.559
where you had the one street show where
0:30:00.720,0:30:04.080
you literally saw all the characters
0:30:02.559,0:30:06.559
from all the genres
0:30:04.080,0:30:07.360
right on stage at one time and it was
0:30:06.559,0:30:09.039
fantastic
0:30:07.360,0:30:12.559
yeah yeah why would you do away with
0:30:09.039,0:30:15.760
that well i guess we’ll see
0:30:12.559,0:30:18.640
anyway so we might we might be crowning
0:30:15.760,0:30:18.640
a uh new
0:30:19.039,0:30:22.720
a new president of lucasfilm yeah so
0:30:21.679,0:30:25.919
we’ll say we’ll see
0:30:22.720,0:30:27.440
you know if in two years it happens and
0:30:25.919,0:30:27.919
we’re still doing this podcast we can
0:30:27.440,0:30:30.559
say
0:30:27.919,0:30:32.240
okay he was right yeah i probably won’t
0:30:30.559,0:30:35.760
even give him that much credit but
0:30:32.240,0:30:36.159
okay anyway that was all we had for star
0:30:35.760,0:30:39.279
wars
0:30:36.159,0:30:40.880
insights or insider or tells from the
0:30:39.279,0:30:42.000
galaxy’s edge whatever we’re calling the
0:30:40.880,0:30:46.159
segment
0:30:42.000,0:30:47.760
today whatever whatever comes to mind
0:30:46.159,0:30:51.840
uh we’re gonna take a quick break and
0:30:47.760,0:30:51.840
come back with uh entertainment news
0:30:53.890,0:30:57.419
[Applause]
0:30:57.919,0:31:02.159
insights into teens a podcast series

0:31:10.720,0:31:16.840
explore issues from braces to puberty
0:31:13.679,0:31:18.720
social anxiety to financial
0:31:16.840,0:31:20.640
responsibility
0:31:18.720,0:31:22.720
each week we talk about the topics
0:31:20.640,0:31:25.679
concerning today’s youth
0:31:22.720,0:31:27.679
we look at how the issues affect teens
0:31:25.679,0:31:30.159
how to cope with these issues
0:31:27.679,0:31:34.399
and how parents friends and loved ones
0:31:30.159,0:31:34.399
can help teens handle these challenges

0:31:59.679,0:32:04.240
so let’s talk about comic con at home
0:32:02.559,0:32:06.960
2020 and what we got
0:32:04.240,0:32:09.039
to look forward to so obviously we had
0:32:06.960,0:32:12.080
reported not that long ago
0:32:09.039,0:32:13.200
that uh san diego comic-con had been
0:32:12.080,0:32:16.880
canceled
0:32:13.200,0:32:19.039
and then back in may they decided
0:32:16.880,0:32:20.399
uh they were going to do an at-home
0:32:19.039,0:32:23.840
addition
0:32:20.399,0:32:28.320
so we’ve only heard just one day
0:32:23.840,0:32:30.000
of the schedule as of right now
0:32:28.320,0:32:32.559
so the idea is it’s going to go
0:32:30.000,0:32:35.200
wednesday through
0:32:32.559,0:32:36.320
sunday so it’s going to start on july
0:32:35.200,0:32:38.480
22nd
0:32:36.320,0:32:39.840
and as of right now they just have the
0:32:38.480,0:32:42.720
the one day
0:32:39.840,0:32:44.720
um and it’s you know it basically starts
0:32:42.720,0:32:46.960
at three o’clock in the afternoon
0:32:44.720,0:32:48.480
most panels are from three to four then
0:32:46.960,0:32:51.679
they have some four to five
0:32:48.480,0:32:54.960
five to six uh six to seven
0:32:51.679,0:32:56.880
um and it’s it looks like from
0:32:54.960,0:32:58.960
you know wednesday’s schedule it’s a lot
0:32:56.880,0:33:01.120
of educational
0:32:58.960,0:33:02.480
um things so a lot of things geared
0:33:01.120,0:33:04.399
towards kids
0:33:02.480,0:33:07.039
um you know teaching and learning with
0:33:04.399,0:33:11.039
comics the power of teamwork
0:33:07.039,0:33:13.279
uh comics as a conduit
0:33:11.039,0:33:15.440
licensed to thrill graphic novel
0:33:13.279,0:33:18.480
adaptations for kids so
0:33:15.440,0:33:22.080
you know this day like i said looks
0:33:18.480,0:33:22.720
very much kid-centric uh and everything
0:33:22.080,0:33:26.080
so they have
0:33:22.720,0:33:28.000
different uh authors um different
0:33:26.080,0:33:30.640
professors because there’s some
0:33:28.000,0:33:31.200
about like you know college and the nerd
0:33:30.640,0:33:34.159
mind
0:33:31.200,0:33:35.440
you know was another one uh so you know
0:33:34.159,0:33:38.399
this will definitely be
0:33:35.440,0:33:39.679
interesting to to see how it works out
0:33:38.399,0:33:44.240
everything is free
0:33:39.679,0:33:49.519
there’s youtube links uh that are posted
0:33:44.240,0:33:51.519
if you go to uh comic con international
0:33:49.519,0:33:53.200
they have a youtube page so all their
0:33:51.519,0:33:53.679
links you know will be there i’m
0:33:53.200,0:33:56.960
guessing
0:33:53.679,0:33:58.640
probably as you know it gets closer more
0:33:56.960,0:34:00.159
things will pop up
0:33:58.640,0:34:02.240
uh the one thing that i thought was
0:34:00.159,0:34:05.200
interesting is there was a
0:34:02.240,0:34:06.480
separate story that talked about um how
0:34:05.200,0:34:08.639
for you know
0:34:06.480,0:34:09.760
marvel studios will actually not be
0:34:08.639,0:34:11.679
attending
0:34:09.760,0:34:14.480
the virtual version of san diego
0:34:11.679,0:34:15.679
comic-con um and according to deadline
0:34:14.480,0:34:18.399
marvel studios
0:34:15.679,0:34:19.200
will be sitting this one out um as well
0:34:18.399,0:34:22.480
as dc
0:34:19.200,0:34:26.079
films uh but dc is actually doing
0:34:22.480,0:34:28.159
a fan event in august
0:34:26.079,0:34:29.359
and that’s where they’ll talk about all
0:34:28.159,0:34:33.280
of their stuff
0:34:29.359,0:34:35.359
um so not really sure why marvel
0:34:33.280,0:34:37.119
stepped in there was no reason giving
0:34:35.359,0:34:38.919
but this wasn’t the first time that
0:34:37.119,0:34:40.079
they’ve skipped out they skipped out in
0:34:38.919,0:34:43.200
2015
0:34:40.079,0:34:45.839
and 2018 um and
0:34:43.200,0:34:48.000
basically you know when they decided and
0:34:45.839,0:34:50.079
this is the first time in 51 years
0:34:48.000,0:34:51.200
that san diego comic-con hasn’t been
0:34:50.079,0:34:54.879
going on
0:34:51.200,0:34:57.520
um again there was no word why marvel
0:34:54.879,0:34:58.560
you know decided to to back out maybe
0:34:57.520,0:35:01.760
they just you know
0:34:58.560,0:35:04.160
felt it wasn’t their thing um
0:35:01.760,0:35:05.520
you know but comic-con basically you
0:35:04.160,0:35:06.480
know when they announced that they were
0:35:05.520,0:35:08.560
doing
0:35:06.480,0:35:10.800
this at home edition you know they were
0:35:08.560,0:35:13.839
like hey personalized snacks
0:35:10.800,0:35:14.480
free parking and no lines you know as
0:35:13.839,0:35:17.839
well as
0:35:14.480,0:35:19.440
access to anyone with internet so
0:35:17.839,0:35:20.880
kind of sad that we’re not going to see
0:35:19.440,0:35:23.520
anything for marvel
0:35:20.880,0:35:23.920
it’ll be interesting to see who else i
0:35:23.520,0:35:25.680
think
0:35:23.920,0:35:27.520
you know brilliant move on the part of
0:35:25.680,0:35:30.640
comic con oh absolutely what this
0:35:27.520,0:35:32.720
does is it gives
0:35:30.640,0:35:34.560
people who would never have an
0:35:32.720,0:35:37.280
opportunity to attend one
0:35:34.560,0:35:39.040
or even consider attending one the
0:35:37.280,0:35:40.480
chance to actually get their feet wet
0:35:39.040,0:35:43.119
see what goes on
0:35:40.480,0:35:44.000
see what some of the benefit is uh get
0:35:43.119,0:35:46.160
some idea
0:35:44.000,0:35:47.680
of what the reason is that people go to
0:35:46.160,0:35:50.079
this right right so that
0:35:47.680,0:35:51.359
in subsequent years when we are back on
0:35:50.079,0:35:53.680
schedule and having these
0:35:51.359,0:35:55.359
people people are more inclined to want
0:35:53.680,0:35:57.359
to go to this again because they see
0:35:55.359,0:35:58.000
what the benefit is and that’s why i i
0:35:57.359,0:36:00.640
think it’s
0:35:58.000,0:36:01.760
great it’s almost a shame that they’re
0:36:00.640,0:36:04.880
only doing it over
0:36:01.760,0:36:08.400
one weekend because literally almost
0:36:04.880,0:36:09.359
every day wizard world which is another
0:36:08.400,0:36:12.079
big convention
0:36:09.359,0:36:13.280
and that’s one that we normally go to
0:36:12.079,0:36:14.560
every couple of years that’s in
0:36:13.280,0:36:18.560
philadelphia
0:36:14.560,0:36:21.760
they’re doing almost daily different
0:36:18.560,0:36:25.440
one-hour things and every topic
0:36:21.760,0:36:28.880
manager manageable not just imaginable
0:36:25.440,0:36:30.079
um you know not just television not just
0:36:28.880,0:36:33.359
movies they even did
0:36:30.079,0:36:36.480
sports you know and and
0:36:33.359,0:36:38.640
they’ve had either you know a full cast
0:36:36.480,0:36:41.359
from a television show or a movie
0:36:38.640,0:36:43.040
or they’ve done one-on-ones and they’re
0:36:41.359,0:36:45.839
all free
0:36:43.040,0:36:46.240
you can again go to their youtube page
0:36:45.839,0:36:47.839
and
0:36:46.240,0:36:49.280
find everything so if you weren’t able
0:36:47.839,0:36:52.960
to watch it live
0:36:49.280,0:36:53.520
you can go back and watch the recording
0:36:52.960,0:36:56.800
of it
0:36:53.520,0:36:59.200
and if it happens to be a celebrity that
0:36:56.800,0:37:00.079
you want you know a little one-on-one
0:36:59.200,0:37:02.240
time with or
0:37:00.079,0:37:03.440
an autographed picture of them you could
0:37:02.240,0:37:04.880
purchase
0:37:03.440,0:37:07.040
you know you could pay through the nose
0:37:04.880,0:37:09.920
and get that experience you could
0:37:07.040,0:37:11.280
you know where you know if you’re the
0:37:09.920,0:37:12.720
the type of person they’re like yeah i
0:37:11.280,0:37:15.760
like that show i wouldn’t mind
0:37:12.720,0:37:16.640
you know watching it you know it’s great
0:37:15.760,0:37:18.720
advertising
0:37:16.640,0:37:20.640
absolutely and keeping the spirit of it
0:37:18.720,0:37:22.720
going and i could definitely
0:37:20.640,0:37:25.280
see like you were saying once
0:37:22.720,0:37:28.000
conventions start back up again
0:37:25.280,0:37:29.440
people who may never have gone to one be
0:37:28.000,0:37:32.000
like oh you know let me
0:37:29.440,0:37:33.839
check it out you know you and i you know
0:37:32.000,0:37:36.400
i hadn’t gone to conventions
0:37:33.839,0:37:37.520
right until you and i got together yep i
0:37:36.400,0:37:39.839
brought you to the dark side
0:37:37.520,0:37:41.520
and since i went to the first one i
0:37:39.839,0:37:44.000
can’t get enough of it right
0:37:41.520,0:37:45.520
and it’s like we don’t go and we sit
0:37:44.000,0:37:45.920
through all these panels and all this
0:37:45.520,0:37:47.599
stuff
0:37:45.920,0:37:50.160
we don’t pay for autographs or any of
0:37:47.599,0:37:52.640
that stuff it’s just the ambiance
0:37:50.160,0:37:53.760
it’s the it’s that energy that you get
0:37:52.640,0:37:55.839
from
0:37:53.760,0:37:57.440
being with like-minded people exactly
0:37:55.839,0:38:00.720
that’s what it is it’s being
0:37:57.440,0:38:03.760
with those other geeks
0:38:00.720,0:38:05.119
yeah you know i i don’t hide the fact
0:38:03.760,0:38:07.839
that i’m a sci-fi
0:38:05.119,0:38:10.560
fan and a star wars fan right i decorate
0:38:07.839,0:38:12.400
my office at work with it
0:38:10.560,0:38:14.160
there’s a couple of people who
0:38:12.400,0:38:15.920
sympathize with me but most people think
0:38:14.160,0:38:17.599
i’m an idiot
0:38:15.920,0:38:19.280
and that’s fine i don’t i don’t know
0:38:17.599,0:38:22.720
what they think right but
0:38:19.280,0:38:23.280
it’s nice being with thousands of other
0:38:22.720,0:38:26.480
people
0:38:23.280,0:38:28.480
right who who like the same stuff you do
0:38:26.480,0:38:30.320
and feel the same way and have the same
0:38:28.480,0:38:32.800
passion there’s just
0:38:30.320,0:38:34.320
there’s a you know i don’t want to get
0:38:32.800,0:38:36.079
crazy here but it’s almost like a
0:38:34.320,0:38:38.720
religious experience where that
0:38:36.079,0:38:39.440
energy is there it’s the religion of
0:38:38.720,0:38:42.000
comic con
0:38:39.440,0:38:43.920
it is the church of comic con kill you
0:38:42.000,0:38:45.680
experience i can’t experience it with
0:38:43.920,0:38:46.160
the online versions right there but this
0:38:45.680,0:38:48.079
kind of
0:38:46.160,0:38:49.520
dips your toe in the water you get that
0:38:48.079,0:38:52.640
feeling right
0:38:49.520,0:38:53.599
but if if they can get you interested
0:38:52.640,0:38:56.160
enough through this
0:38:53.599,0:38:57.200
to show up once you’re you’re you’re
0:38:56.160,0:38:59.599
hooked at that point
0:38:57.200,0:39:00.400
right right because that’s that’s what
0:38:59.599,0:39:03.200
people like
0:39:00.400,0:39:04.320
us do unless you go to new york comic
0:39:03.200,0:39:07.359
con on a
0:39:04.320,0:39:10.000
sunday well i still want to go
0:39:07.359,0:39:10.720
back right we just need to do it better
0:39:10.000,0:39:12.640
i mean
0:39:10.720,0:39:15.119
a lot of that was the experience we had
0:39:12.640,0:39:18.560
some hotel issues it was overcrowded
0:39:15.119,0:39:21.440
it was hot no air conditioning
0:39:18.560,0:39:23.200
so i i still want to go back and i
0:39:21.440,0:39:25.760
wouldn’t go back on a sunday
0:39:23.200,0:39:27.119
right maybe do a friday or you know
0:39:25.760,0:39:30.000
earlier in the week or something
0:39:27.119,0:39:31.200
but yeah no i get it it’s you know i
0:39:30.000,0:39:33.359
miss going to the convention
0:39:31.200,0:39:35.359
yeah so this kind of you know for people
0:39:33.359,0:39:38.560
that haven’t been able to
0:39:35.359,0:39:42.160
to go it gives you something to to do
0:39:38.560,0:39:44.800
that’s cool tell us about the crown
0:39:42.160,0:39:46.400
so one of as you mentioned one of our
0:39:44.800,0:39:49.359
favorite shows the crown
0:39:46.400,0:39:50.480
is actually going to be getting a second
0:39:49.359,0:39:53.760
uh
0:39:50.480,0:39:57.760
a second a sixth
0:39:53.760,0:39:59.920
season um originally they had reported
0:39:57.760,0:40:02.079
it was funny because when they first did
0:39:59.920,0:40:03.920
it it was going to be six seasons
0:40:02.079,0:40:05.440
then when they started writing
0:40:03.920,0:40:07.599
everything it was like nope
0:40:05.440,0:40:08.800
we’re gonna stop at five and now they
0:40:07.599,0:40:12.480
said no
0:40:08.800,0:40:15.280
we are going to do sixth um so basically
0:40:12.480,0:40:17.440
what you know the the creator said was
0:40:15.280,0:40:18.640
as we started discussing the story lines
0:40:17.440,0:40:21.440
for season five
0:40:18.640,0:40:23.200
it soon became clear that in order to do
0:40:21.440,0:40:26.000
justice to the richness
0:40:23.200,0:40:27.680
and complexity of the story we should go
0:40:26.000,0:40:31.280
back to the original plan
0:40:27.680,0:40:33.760
and do six seasons to be clear series
0:40:31.280,0:40:34.880
six will not bring us any closer to
0:40:33.760,0:40:37.920
present day
0:40:34.880,0:40:39.280
but it will simply enable us to cover
0:40:37.920,0:40:42.720
the same period
0:40:39.280,0:40:46.240
in greater detail so
0:40:42.720,0:40:49.920
i thought that was was great news
0:40:46.240,0:40:53.440
the show did wrap up season four
0:40:49.920,0:40:55.520
which stars uh olivia coleman who plays
0:40:53.440,0:40:57.280
queen elizabeth in mid-march so they
0:40:55.520,0:41:01.280
actually had finished
0:40:57.280,0:41:03.520
season four filming right before
0:41:01.280,0:41:05.520
everything shut down so fortunately
0:41:03.520,0:41:08.560
there’s going to be no delay
0:41:05.520,0:41:09.280
with uh season four coming out it’s just
0:41:08.560,0:41:12.160
obviously
0:41:09.280,0:41:13.599
season five they’re not sure when
0:41:12.160,0:41:17.200
they’re gonna start
0:41:13.599,0:41:19.839
uh filming you know filming that one so
0:41:17.200,0:41:20.240
at least we we get two more seasons yeah
0:41:19.839,0:41:24.240
you know
0:41:20.240,0:41:27.520
so and like i like the show because it’s
0:41:24.240,0:41:28.880
historically accurate the acting’s well
0:41:27.520,0:41:31.280
done the set
0:41:28.880,0:41:32.720
set piece creation’s incredible yeah
0:41:31.280,0:41:34.880
it’s beautiful
0:41:32.720,0:41:36.880
it’s just a very well done show and
0:41:34.880,0:41:40.240
they’ve done a very good job of staying
0:41:36.880,0:41:42.800
faithful to the actual stories yeah and
0:41:40.240,0:41:43.599
the talent that they brought in to play
0:41:42.800,0:41:46.720
these roles
0:41:43.599,0:41:49.040
are just spot-on yeah so it’ll be you
0:41:46.720,0:41:51.839
know interesting to see the new cast
0:41:49.040,0:41:52.640
the new you know the new queen and and
0:41:51.839,0:41:54.720
you know because
0:41:52.640,0:41:56.000
usually they they only changed you know
0:41:54.720,0:41:58.800
some of the characters and
0:41:56.000,0:41:59.599
and to see you know charles grow up and
0:41:58.800,0:42:03.200
you know because you
0:41:59.599,0:42:05.040
you saw him in camilla at the end of
0:42:03.200,0:42:07.359
this season so it’ll be interesting to
0:42:05.040,0:42:09.520
see the dynamics of everything and
0:42:07.359,0:42:10.960
and how queen elizabeth you know dealt
0:42:09.520,0:42:14.400
with all of it so
0:42:10.960,0:42:17.760
cool good news so tell us about
0:42:14.400,0:42:21.040
the great performance so pbs released
0:42:17.760,0:42:22.160
a broadway at home schedule on great
0:42:21.040,0:42:25.040
performances
0:42:22.160,0:42:25.760
so obviously there’s a lot of buzz going
0:42:25.040,0:42:29.200
around
0:42:25.760,0:42:32.640
with hamilton which no shocker there
0:42:29.200,0:42:32.960
um so now they’re kind of saying hey
0:42:32.640,0:42:35.760
well
0:42:32.960,0:42:37.119
we have some more broadway things uh for
0:42:35.760,0:42:40.000
you to watch and and
0:42:37.119,0:42:41.359
again this goes back to you know comic
0:42:40.000,0:42:43.520
con at home
0:42:41.359,0:42:44.800
and you know watching movies at home and
0:42:43.520,0:42:48.079
here’s you know
0:42:44.800,0:42:51.359
performances um stage shows
0:42:48.079,0:42:54.560
um that they’re doing um so starting uh
0:42:51.359,0:42:58.800
the friday it’s gonna be every friday uh
0:42:54.560,0:43:02.400
starting on july 24th usually at 9 pm
0:42:58.800,0:43:05.280
there’s a full listing of she loves me
0:43:02.400,0:43:06.800
present laughter in the heights chasing
0:43:05.280,0:43:09.839
rainbow dreams which
0:43:06.800,0:43:13.359
was lin-manuel miranda’s first broadway
0:43:09.839,0:43:14.800
show then much ado about nothing
0:43:13.359,0:43:16.880
and then finally rogers and
0:43:14.800,0:43:20.079
hammerstein’s the king and i
0:43:16.880,0:43:23.280
so interesting list of of different
0:43:20.079,0:43:26.240
plays so again free
0:43:23.280,0:43:27.440
available on their website on pbs
0:43:26.240,0:43:31.760
channels
0:43:27.440,0:43:34.800
um you know so if you enjoyed hamilton
0:43:31.760,0:43:38.000
and you’re itching for more broadway
0:43:34.800,0:43:39.359
pbs has you covered very cool very cool
0:43:38.000,0:43:40.480
it’s nice to see them bring that because
0:43:39.359,0:43:42.960
you know we watched
0:43:40.480,0:43:44.480
hamilton for me i’ve never seen a
0:43:42.960,0:43:46.720
broadway play
0:43:44.480,0:43:48.400
um and watching hamilton how well it was
0:43:46.720,0:43:51.200
produced i’m not sure i want to go see
0:43:48.400,0:43:52.480
it on broadway and sit in the audience
0:43:51.200,0:43:54.240
i’d much rather see from all the
0:43:52.480,0:43:55.599
different camera angles yeah yeah but
0:43:54.240,0:43:57.200
this brings it in again
0:43:55.599,0:43:58.640
like with with the comic book
0:43:57.200,0:43:59.520
conventions if you’ve never seen a
0:43:58.640,0:44:02.160
broadway play
0:43:59.520,0:44:02.560
right this is your first step into it to
0:44:02.160,0:44:04.720
get you
0:44:02.560,0:44:06.480
absolutely absolutely so brilliant
0:44:04.720,0:44:08.400
marketing those guys
0:44:06.480,0:44:10.400
so that was all we had for entertainment
0:44:08.400,0:44:14.000
news we’ll be right back with our
0:44:10.400,0:44:14.000
insightful picks of the week
0:44:15.870,0:44:21.040
[Applause]
0:44:18.160,0:44:22.000
go for your insightful pick so my
0:44:21.040,0:44:26.160
insightful pick which
0:44:22.000,0:44:26.160
i had to make sure i got before you did
0:44:27.040,0:44:30.240
because you tend to do that from time to
0:44:28.800,0:44:33.760
time was
0:44:30.240,0:44:37.200
hamilton um hamilton uh
0:44:33.760,0:44:37.520
is the american musical film comprised
0:44:37.200,0:44:40.960
of
0:44:37.520,0:44:41.920
live recordings of the 2015 broadway
0:44:40.960,0:44:45.119
musical
0:44:41.920,0:44:48.079
which was inspired by a 2004 biography
0:44:45.119,0:44:48.839
about alexander hamilton um it was
0:44:48.079,0:44:52.480
written in
0:44:48.839,0:44:55.920
um written and composed by linwin mill
0:44:52.480,0:44:59.359
lind manuel miranda
0:44:55.920,0:44:59.839
he obviously stars as the founding
0:44:59.359,0:45:01.839
father
0:44:59.839,0:45:03.119
alexander hamilton along with the
0:45:01.839,0:45:06.319
original broadway
0:45:03.119,0:45:09.359
cast this was actually
0:45:06.319,0:45:13.119
planned to come out in the theaters
0:45:09.359,0:45:15.040
in october of 2021 but with the response
0:45:13.119,0:45:17.359
to the covid pandemic
0:45:15.040,0:45:18.480
it was moved up and released digitally
0:45:17.359,0:45:21.520
worldwide
0:45:18.480,0:45:25.839
um on disney plus starting on july
0:45:21.520,0:45:28.160
3rd um and
0:45:25.839,0:45:31.119
it was something where i knew we were
0:45:28.160,0:45:34.000
never going to see it on broadway
0:45:31.119,0:45:34.880
because one it’s just you know hard to
0:45:34.000,0:45:38.160
get tickets
0:45:34.880,0:45:39.920
and they were very expensive i knew some
0:45:38.160,0:45:43.200
of the music i didn’t know
0:45:39.920,0:45:46.640
a lot of the music i wasn’t a huge
0:45:43.200,0:45:48.800
you know hamilton you know fan
0:45:46.640,0:45:50.480
when it first you know came out i had
0:45:48.800,0:45:52.640
many friends who
0:45:50.480,0:45:54.400
you know had gotten the soundtrack and
0:45:52.640,0:45:57.200
you know listened to it and
0:45:54.400,0:45:59.359
loved it and you know again i heard a
0:45:57.200,0:46:02.079
couple of songs here and there
0:45:59.359,0:46:04.400
enjoyed it and so i was looking forward
0:46:02.079,0:46:06.400
to going and seeing it in the movies
0:46:04.400,0:46:07.520
and obviously when we found out it was
0:46:06.400,0:46:10.640
coming out
0:46:07.520,0:46:14.560
on disney plus even more excited
0:46:10.640,0:46:16.560
to to watch it and i basically
0:46:14.560,0:46:18.000
you know said we’re all watching it
0:46:16.560,0:46:21.040
together
0:46:18.000,0:46:24.000
it was it was mandated um because i knew
0:46:21.040,0:46:25.119
you guys were probably going to to like
0:46:24.000,0:46:26.400
it so of course
0:46:25.119,0:46:28.480
you know i’m sitting there and i’m like
0:46:26.400,0:46:30.640
i hope he really likes it
0:46:28.480,0:46:31.520
and when you started laughing and
0:46:30.640,0:46:34.640
cheering
0:46:31.520,0:46:36.240
and and our daughter you know was
0:46:34.640,0:46:38.560
getting into it
0:46:36.240,0:46:40.000
that’s when i knew okay this was this
0:46:38.560,0:46:43.040
was this was done
0:46:40.000,0:46:45.520
um so it’s divided into two acts um
0:46:43.040,0:46:47.520
the musical deplex the life and career
0:46:45.520,0:46:49.440
of alexander hamilton who is an
0:46:47.520,0:46:51.040
orphaned immigrant from the caribbean
0:46:49.440,0:46:54.400
isle um
0:46:51.040,0:46:58.480
and the first act basically covers his
0:46:54.400,0:47:00.880
his arrival to new york city in 1776
0:46:58.480,0:47:02.560
his work alongside geor george
0:47:00.880,0:47:03.599
washington during the american
0:47:02.560,0:47:06.640
revolution
0:47:03.599,0:47:08.720
and how he met his wife eliza
0:47:06.640,0:47:10.880
um and then the second act basically
0:47:08.720,0:47:13.760
covers his post-war work
0:47:10.880,0:47:16.319
as the first secretary of the treasury
0:47:13.760,0:47:18.400
and his affair with maria reynolds
0:47:16.319,0:47:20.079
the death of his son phillip and then
0:47:18.400,0:47:25.839
finally his own death
0:47:20.079,0:47:25.839
in a duel with aaron burr
0:47:26.240,0:47:32.559
so it’s very well done as
0:47:29.680,0:47:33.920
you know you had mentioned you know
0:47:32.559,0:47:37.520
there
0:47:33.920,0:47:39.680
there’s a lot of historically correct
0:47:37.520,0:47:40.880
parts to it and it was interesting
0:47:39.680,0:47:42.960
because this morning
0:47:40.880,0:47:44.880
you know and and that’s the thing
0:47:42.960,0:47:45.440
because i actually was watching another
0:47:44.880,0:47:48.400
little
0:47:45.440,0:47:50.240
mini documentary you know that pops up
0:47:48.400,0:47:51.920
on on disney plus
0:47:50.240,0:47:53.599
you know an interview and he basically
0:47:51.920,0:47:54.800
says listen i know i didn’t put
0:47:53.599,0:47:59.280
everything in
0:47:54.800,0:48:00.880
you know um you know eliza’s sister
0:47:59.280,0:48:02.319
she was already married when they first
0:48:00.880,0:48:05.440
met so he took
0:48:02.319,0:48:07.839
the liberty of making her not married so
0:48:05.440,0:48:08.720
that little love triangle could kind of
0:48:07.839,0:48:10.480
be in there
0:48:08.720,0:48:12.400
you know they had more children than
0:48:10.480,0:48:14.480
what they talk about you know so there’s
0:48:12.400,0:48:15.280
so much more that he just couldn’t put
0:48:14.480,0:48:18.240
into it
0:48:15.280,0:48:20.160
but his hope was that he could get you
0:48:18.240,0:48:21.839
interested and that’s exactly it it was
0:48:20.160,0:48:22.160
enough to get it it was enough to get
0:48:21.839,0:48:24.480
you
0:48:22.160,0:48:26.640
in so that you can now go online and
0:48:24.480,0:48:28.720
that’s what happened because i did go on
0:48:26.640,0:48:31.520
and and look up different things and
0:48:28.720,0:48:32.880
and it’s interesting to hear you know so
0:48:31.520,0:48:34.640
if you watch the show
0:48:32.880,0:48:36.079
and you’re like oh my god this is
0:48:34.640,0:48:39.119
amazing and now there’s
0:48:36.079,0:48:41.440
all this stuff that’s that you can
0:48:39.119,0:48:43.280
find and see the cast talking about it
0:48:41.440,0:48:46.160
and and saying how like
0:48:43.280,0:48:47.040
you know oh i didn’t you know and and
0:48:46.160,0:48:49.200
for them
0:48:47.040,0:48:51.200
they never really watched it either so
0:48:49.200,0:48:52.960
for them to go back and watch and go wow
0:48:51.200,0:48:55.440
i didn’t know that i did that
0:48:52.960,0:48:57.599
on stage like that and i didn’t know
0:48:55.440,0:49:00.559
hammering all makes my butt look big
0:48:57.599,0:49:02.319
well no it was like oh i i thought i did
0:49:00.559,0:49:04.720
this but i didn’t know
0:49:02.319,0:49:05.839
i did this and and all these just little
0:49:04.720,0:49:08.079
interesting stories
0:49:05.839,0:49:08.880
you know from the cast and and and
0:49:08.079,0:49:11.280
everything
0:49:08.880,0:49:12.400
and it makes me want to go back in and
0:49:11.280,0:49:16.240
watch it again
0:49:12.400,0:49:19.359
and one of the other things too is you
0:49:16.240,0:49:21.359
kind of realize it when you watch it but
0:49:19.359,0:49:23.760
they talk about one of the the main
0:49:21.359,0:49:26.240
characters the bullet
0:49:23.760,0:49:27.520
and they do this whole thing where
0:49:26.240,0:49:30.480
there’s this one
0:49:27.520,0:49:32.400
character where when a gun goes off
0:49:30.480,0:49:33.280
she’s kind of there and she goes like
0:49:32.400,0:49:36.640
this
0:49:33.280,0:49:40.240
she’s like the physical bullet and
0:49:36.640,0:49:42.160
there are anytime she is out there
0:49:40.240,0:49:43.440
she’s almost like the angel of death
0:49:42.160,0:49:45.040
like she meets up with this one
0:49:43.440,0:49:45.440
character and she kind of flirts with
0:49:45.040,0:49:47.359
him
0:49:45.440,0:49:48.880
and the idea is that that character was
0:49:47.359,0:49:51.200
flirting with death
0:49:48.880,0:49:52.880
and you know every time that there’s
0:49:51.200,0:49:54.559
somebody that loses their life
0:49:52.880,0:49:56.800
she’s there and it’s one of those things
0:49:54.559,0:49:58.960
where realizing you don’t realize it and
0:49:56.800,0:50:01.760
then you read this article you’re like
0:49:58.960,0:50:03.839
damn that’s awesome and we even talked
0:50:01.760,0:50:06.960
about you know the one scene with their
0:50:03.839,0:50:08.720
their wedding nobody changes costume
0:50:06.960,0:50:10.240
everybody’s in the same costume they
0:50:08.720,0:50:12.720
change the lighting
0:50:10.240,0:50:14.880
to make it look like her dress is is
0:50:12.720,0:50:18.160
white you know they basically add a veil
0:50:14.880,0:50:18.559
so it’s just amazing how how well done
0:50:18.160,0:50:21.440
it
0:50:18.559,0:50:22.160
it was done it was filmed over um three
0:50:21.440,0:50:24.559
days two
0:50:22.160,0:50:26.800
two to three days some were in front of
0:50:24.559,0:50:30.400
a live audience some of the
0:50:26.800,0:50:31.760
closer angled shots were done without
0:50:30.400,0:50:32.960
the audience because obviously the
0:50:31.760,0:50:36.079
camera would have been
0:50:32.960,0:50:38.160
you know in front of them but just
0:50:36.079,0:50:40.720
you know the production value was just
0:50:38.160,0:50:44.160
it was amazing and what was funny was
0:50:40.720,0:50:47.920
jonathan groff who plays king george
0:50:44.160,0:50:49.680
so good he actually he was the original
0:50:47.920,0:50:51.920
king george he had left
0:50:49.680,0:50:54.240
while the rest of the cast was still
0:50:51.920,0:50:56.640
going on because when it was filmed
0:50:54.240,0:50:57.440
all of the lead principals were still
0:50:56.640,0:50:59.520
playing
0:50:57.440,0:51:00.960
they were getting ready to start backing
0:50:59.520,0:51:02.079
out with you know they had like two
0:51:00.960,0:51:04.720
weeks left
0:51:02.079,0:51:06.720
jonathan had already left but the person
0:51:04.720,0:51:08.800
that was playing him said you know what
0:51:06.720,0:51:09.760
you’re the original king george you need
0:51:08.800,0:51:13.359
to come back so
0:51:09.760,0:51:14.960
he actually came back just to film
0:51:13.359,0:51:16.400
you know it’s funny i was listening to
0:51:14.960,0:51:17.760
another podcast
0:51:16.400,0:51:19.839
that i listened to frequently and they
0:51:17.760,0:51:20.880
were talking about uh the host of the
0:51:19.839,0:51:23.520
podcast took
0:51:20.880,0:51:24.559
his wife and son to say it and they were
0:51:23.520,0:51:28.079
sitting
0:51:24.559,0:51:30.960
very close to the stage and apparently
0:51:28.079,0:51:32.240
when you see jonathan groff spitting as
0:51:30.960,0:51:34.480
the irate king
0:51:32.240,0:51:36.160
right he does that every night right to
0:51:34.480,0:51:39.040
the point that people were getting spit
0:51:36.160,0:51:40.800
on in the audience
0:51:39.040,0:51:43.119
yeah that that’s definitely one of the
0:51:40.800,0:51:44.720
different stories is you know
0:51:43.119,0:51:46.559
you have to watch it just for the nine
0:51:44.720,0:51:48.000
minutes that he’s on stage total and how
0:51:46.559,0:51:50.319
much he spits yeah
0:51:48.000,0:51:51.920
because he you know he goes on in an
0:51:50.319,0:51:52.240
interview to explain that he’s playing
0:51:51.920,0:51:56.960
the
0:51:52.240,0:51:59.440
king as this semi-insane
0:51:56.960,0:52:00.160
character right and he he pulls it off
0:51:59.440,0:52:02.240
so oh
0:52:00.160,0:52:04.160
and and the other thing too is you know
0:52:02.240,0:52:04.800
again we could probably talk just an
0:52:04.160,0:52:07.680
hour
0:52:04.800,0:52:08.880
on on hamilton but that like each
0:52:07.680,0:52:12.400
character
0:52:08.880,0:52:15.440
has their own specific style
0:52:12.400,0:52:18.240
of music that they they sing to
0:52:15.440,0:52:18.559
you know so it’s not all rap it’s not
0:52:18.240,0:52:22.000
all
0:52:18.559,0:52:24.240
hip-hop you know it’s blend of
0:52:22.000,0:52:25.520
everything hands down my favorite number
0:52:24.240,0:52:28.800
from the whole thing
0:52:25.520,0:52:30.880
was the covid9 approved uh
0:52:28.800,0:52:33.520
the zoom where it happened i mean the
0:52:30.880,0:52:35.839
room where it happened sorry
0:52:33.520,0:52:37.359
i love that tuning you can’t get it out
0:52:35.839,0:52:39.680
of your head and that’s the thing is a
0:52:37.359,0:52:42.160
lot of the songs you just start like
0:52:39.680,0:52:43.119
you know with it and and you know again
0:52:42.160,0:52:46.160
going back to
0:52:43.119,0:52:46.720
the the king of england that his was
0:52:46.160,0:52:50.480
kind of
0:52:46.720,0:52:53.520
like a british pop sound
0:52:50.480,0:52:55.119
and it was a love letter you know like
0:52:53.520,0:52:57.280
you’ll miss me when you’re gone type
0:52:55.119,0:52:59.920
that and it’s just
0:52:57.280,0:53:01.920
good pick good pick definitely watch it
0:52:59.920,0:53:04.000
if you’re not sure about it if you know
0:53:01.920,0:53:05.839
broadway isn’t your thing
0:53:04.000,0:53:07.599
at least you can do it from the comfort
0:53:05.839,0:53:09.359
of your home you can pause it
0:53:07.599,0:53:10.880
can i do my pick now or should i just
0:53:09.359,0:53:12.800
skip it at this point in time you just
0:53:10.880,0:53:15.920
keep talking about hamilton okay are you
0:53:12.800,0:53:17.200
okay i can stop now i’m done go watch
0:53:15.920,0:53:20.480
hamilton good pick
0:53:17.200,0:53:20.480
thank you very much thank you
0:53:21.730,0:53:26.319
[Applause]
0:53:23.680,0:53:29.359
so my pick that will be completely
0:53:26.319,0:53:32.960
overshadowed by hamilton obviously
0:53:29.359,0:53:36.559
hey you liked it too it is a
0:53:32.960,0:53:40.480
documentary on the science channel snore
0:53:36.559,0:53:43.040
i know called sea monsters
0:53:40.480,0:53:43.040
everybody
0:53:44.319,0:53:49.760
sea monsters on science channel
0:53:47.440,0:53:51.200
every mystery and danger of the sea is a
0:53:49.760,0:53:54.319
technological challenge
0:53:51.200,0:53:56.640
waiting to be overcome from mega holiday
0:53:54.319,0:53:59.119
cruises to harvesting power
0:53:56.640,0:54:00.800
this exploration of the sea unlocks the
0:53:59.119,0:54:03.839
ultimate challenges
0:54:00.800,0:54:05.520
of extreme maritime environments sea
0:54:03.839,0:54:08.640
monsters dives deep
0:54:05.520,0:54:10.079
to unlock the the ultimate challenges of
0:54:08.640,0:54:12.720
extreme maritime
0:54:10.079,0:54:15.119
environments it has nothing to do with
0:54:12.720,0:54:17.680
monsters
0:54:15.119,0:54:18.559
the kraken does not show up at any point
0:54:17.680,0:54:20.800
in time well then
0:54:18.559,0:54:22.240
i don’t want to watch it uh it is a show
0:54:20.800,0:54:25.599
about how
0:54:22.240,0:54:28.000
mankind has developed technological ways
0:54:25.599,0:54:31.040
of overcoming a lot of
0:54:28.000,0:54:32.720
challenges from the sea uh there are
0:54:31.040,0:54:35.040
currently two seasons
0:54:32.720,0:54:36.640
uh season two is underway being aired on
0:54:35.040,0:54:39.119
the science channel
0:54:36.640,0:54:40.559
and season one is available on amazon
0:54:39.119,0:54:43.119
prime video
0:54:40.559,0:54:45.599
a couple of the episodes include u.s
0:54:43.119,0:54:48.000
coast guard super ships
0:54:45.599,0:54:48.640
the world’s greatest submarines and the
0:54:48.000,0:54:52.240
ocean’s
0:54:48.640,0:54:54.000
most powerful cargo ships so it’s very
0:54:52.240,0:54:57.280
interesting if you’re if you’re into
0:54:54.000,0:54:59.680
uh the sea and
0:54:57.280,0:55:01.520
ships and stuff like that they have it’s
0:54:59.680,0:55:04.720
all kinds of walks of life of different
0:55:01.520,0:55:06.960
types of ships that they have but
0:55:04.720,0:55:08.960
happened to be a show that i uh just
0:55:06.960,0:55:10.480
picked up a couple of weeks ago
0:55:08.960,0:55:13.040
and i’ve been watching it so i’ve kind
0:55:10.480,0:55:14.079
of liked it it’s not hamilton but it is
0:55:13.040,0:55:16.480
worth watching
0:55:14.079,0:55:17.760
that’s why everybody has their own thing
0:55:16.480,0:55:19.920
sea monsters
0:55:17.760,0:55:22.400
on the science channel and we’ll be
0:55:19.920,0:55:22.400
right back
0:55:24.250,0:55:26.799
[Applause]
0:55:25.490,0:55:29.200
[Music]
0:55:26.799,0:55:29.839
so i think that was all we had today
0:55:29.200,0:55:33.839
correct
0:55:29.839,0:55:34.480
i think so um i would invite everyone to
