- Disney Fans Explore Hidden Rooms From the Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction
- https://insidethemagic.net/2021/06/pirates-of-the-caribbean-game-ad1/?fbclid=IwAR11fmH9j_8YJqQkiVK1RVHX7oOxjDz7nSypfs-mPRlLjLwMTtNk-WjN7Hg

- One of the worst things about visiting Disney World, Disneyland, or any Disney Park is that at some point, you will have to leave!
- Dealing with the Disney blues is something almost all Disney fans have to face, but there are ways to kick that sadness out and turn it into magical reminders of happiness.
- From adding Disney decor to your home to watching Disney attraction videos on YouTube, there are many options available for fans to be reminded of the magic.
- Now, there is a new video game that may not only help with the Disney blues but will allow fans to dive deeper into an attraction that Walt Disney himself created.
- Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life was just released as a collaboration with Disney, and the video game follows Jack Sparrow’s adventures that we have seen in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
- Although the video game takes inspiration from the films, it seems that the aesthetic and setting are very much based on the Disneyland version of the attraction.
- Players will not only feel like they are in the ride while playing, but they will be able to explore rooms and show scenes that, typically, a Guest would only get to watch from their boat!
- Disney Parks Blog noted:
- If you think that riding the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction immerses you into Jack Sparrow’s treacherous world plagued by scoundrels, this game will take that immersion to a whole new level.
- It showcases several iconic scenes from the original 1967 Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland park, like the Treasure Room, the Ship Battle, and— my personal favorite— the Jail Scene featuring the dog holding the keys to freedom.
- Pirates fans can adventure and explore through these well-known scenes brought to life in the game in beautiful detail and truly authentic to the classic attraction.
- The exciting new gameplay experience casts YOU, the players, as the main characters within this adventurous world!
- Many Disney fans would love to explore all of the different details on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and it seems that this video game is a pretty close second to actually being able to do it in real life!
- Disney Parks (@disneyparks) TikTok made a video that shows a side-by-side comparison of the video game and the attraction, and some scenes look identical to the ride.
- As someone who played VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom) in its heyday, I can say that Disney fans definitely need more theme park-based video games, as it allows us to explore the parks even if we can’t be there in person.
- Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life is available on mobile, Windows PC, Steam, and Xbox.
- One of the worst things about visiting Disney World, Disneyland, or any Disney Park is that at some point, you will have to leave!
- Scarlett Johansson and Disney Team for ‘Tower of Terror’

- Scarlett Johansson is staying on the Disney ride.
- The actor, who has Disney and Marvel’s Black Widow due out in two weeks, is attached to produce Tower of Terror, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
- Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley is penning the script for the project based on the classic Disney theme park ride.
- Plot details are being kept under wraps, and it is unclear if the Oscar nominee would act in the project as well.
- Johansson is producing via her These Pictures banner with Jonathan Lia.
- Collider first reported the news.
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened in 1994 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, with other Tower of Terror rides opening at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, France’s Walt Disney Studios Park and Tokyo DisneySea.
- The ride is known for ending with a terrifying drop.
- Tower of Terror was previously made into a 1997 TV movie starring Steve Guttenberg as a reporter investigating the case of a 1930s hotel where people mysteriously disappeared, with Kirsten Dunst playing his niece.
- Disney has found past success with films based on its rides, with Pirates of the Caribbean spawning five films earning $4.5 billion combined.
- The Tower of Terror development comes as Disney prepares to unleash another ride feature.
- Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, opens July 30.
- Scarlett Johansson is staying on the Disney ride.

- Disney Asks for Slave I Rename to Boba Fett’s Starship
- https://www.jedinews.com/collecting/articles/disney-asks-for-slave-i-rename-to-boba-fetts-starship/
- https://bit.ly/2TfiPFi
- The name Slave I is no more, long live Boba Fett’s Starship!
- With the release of Boba Fett’s iconic ship in its latest LEGO incarnation, you will notice that the name Slave I has been dropped in favor of Boba Fett’s Starship, as directed by Disney.
- During LEGO Fan Media Days last month, the LEGO Star Wars team’s Jens Kronvold Frederiksen and Michael Lee Stockwell were asked about the name change as they showed off the set for the first time, and this is what they said
- Jens: Then, the next one, also from The Mandalorian, is Boba Fett’s Starship.
- Michael: Yes, I built another. We’re not calling it Slave I any more. This is Boba Fett’s Starship.
- Question: Why are we dropping the Slave I name?
- Jens: Everybody is. It’s probably not something which has been announced publicly but it is just something that Disney doesn’t want to use any more.
- What do you think of this name change?
- The new 478 piece LEGO Star Wars Boba Fett’s Starship (#75312) is available from August 1st, with minifigures of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian.
- The name Slave I is no more, long live Boba Fett’s Starship!
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars Lands Three Daytime Emmy Nominations
- https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2021/06/star-wars-the-clone-wars-lands-three-daytime-emmy-nominations.html

- The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards Children’s & Animation and Lifestyle categories which will be celebrated in two live-streamed events on July 17 and July 18th, 2021.
- The Daytime Emmy Awards Children’s Programming and Animation ceremony will be presented in a stand-alone show streaming on our Emmy® OTT platform on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 8p.m ET.
- These awards focus on programming aimed at children and families, and are separate from the main Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, which is currently set for September 20.
- The Clone Wars hit three targets: “Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Animated Program,” “Outstanding Music, Direction, and Composition for a Preschool, Children’s, or Animated Program,” and “Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Daytime Animated Program.”
- I think we can all agree that the show’s final season brought the work done by Lucasfilm Animation to new heights, and quality has barely decreased in The Bad Batch, which has just crossed its mid-season point.
- The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards Children’s & Animation and Lifestyle categories which will be celebrated in two live-streamed events on July 17 and July 18th, 2021.
- The official Star Wars social media accounts also celebrated the news with a tweaked version of the main Season 6 poster:
- Competition might be fierce in some of the categories, but I’m sure the Clone Wars team will bring some awards home.
- This could serve as a warmup of sorts for Star Wars too, as the nominations for the main event of the Emmys will be announced on July 13, and Season 2 of The Mandalorian is expected to receive lots of love following both critical and public acclaim.
- Last year, Season 1 hunted down five Emmy awards after taking the TV world by storm.

- “I’m not the one who makes Britney’s life miserable”
- https://bit.ly/3hnmqZD
- Jamie Spears has fired back at his daughter’s allegations he has taken away her freedom and even her right to marry … he says that all falls on his successor.
- Jamie filed legal docs claiming he has not had ANY involvement in Britney’s personal conservatorship — meaning making personal decisions on behalf of Britney — for nearly 2 years.
- Furthermore, he says he hasn’t even spoken to his daughter in a long time because “he has been cut off from communicating with her.”
- Jamie lays any blame for the restrictive rules on the current personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery.
- He says when Britney’s lawyer filed docs to appoint Montgomery, he claimed at the time Britney did not have the mental capacity to make decisions about her medical treatment and therefore it was left to the conservator of her person — now Jodi Montgomery.
- Jamie says bluntly, the court never found she was unable to consent to medical treatment and the court never made such an order.
- The upshot — Jamie claims it was Britney’s own lawyer, Sam Ingham, who has been seeking to take away his client’s right to make medical decisions on her behalf and vest those decisions solely in Montgomery’s hands.
- According to the legal docs, “Ms. Montgomery has been fully in charge of Ms. Spears’ day-to-day personal care and medical treatment, and Ms. Montgomery has made all decisions related to those matters.”
- Furthermore, Jamie says if Britney has been restricted from marrying or having a baby, it’s on Jodi Montgomery, not him.
- In fact, Jamie says he consented to Britney’s marriage when she got engaged to Jason Trawick in 2011 … but, as you know, they broke up in 2013 before tying the knot.
- In another document, Jamie’s lawyer says, “Mr. Spears believes it is important for the integrity of the conservatorship proceedings and in the best interests of Ms. Spears for the Court to order an investigation into the issues and claims raised by [Britney] at the June 23, 2021 status hearing.”
- Jamie’s lawyer goes on … “Either the allegations will be shown to be true, in which case corrective action must be taken, or they will be shown to be false, in which case the conservatorship can continue its course.”
- The lawyer says, “It is not acceptable for Conservators or the Court to do nothing in response to Ms. Spears’ testimony.”
- Jamie Spears has fired back at his daughter’s allegations he has taken away her freedom and even her right to marry … he says that all falls on his successor.
- The ‘Black Panther’ Sequel Has Officially Begun Filming

- Fans have been waiting for a follow-up to Black Panther ever since the film’s immense success in 2018.
- However, that eager anticipation turned into heartbreak in the summer of 2020, when the film’s lead hero, Chadwick Boseman, passed away after a private battle with cancer.
- His loss sent shockwaves among fans, fellow actors, and the entertainment industry as a whole.
- On top of grieving the loss of a real-life and on-screen hero, some also wondered what would become of the groundbreaking role Boseman brought to life?
- The Black Panther sequel was already announced in 2019, and months after Boseman’s passing, Marvel has confirmed that the show will go on in a manner that honors the late actor’s legacy.
- Here’s what we know about the Black Panther sequel so far.
- The role of T ‘Challa won’t be recast or digitally replicated.
- Months after Boseman’s passing, Disney confirmed, “Honoring Chadwick Boseman’s legacy & portrayal of T’Challa, @MarvelStudios will not recast the character, but will explore the world of Wakanda & the rich characters introduced in the first film.”
- Fans have been waiting for a follow-up to Black Panther ever since the film’s immense success in 2018.

- Across the Pacific, no I’m not talking about the 1942 American spy film starring Humphrey Bogart.
- This Across the Pacific is a series about a great aviation milestone: the 1935 crossing of the Pacific Ocean by the Pan Am flying boat China Clipper.
- The documentary series recounts the development of this technological innovation – led by Pan Am’s chief executive Juan Trippe, pilot Charles Lindbergh, airplane engineer Igor Sikorsky and radio engineer Hugo Leuteritz – with dramatic re-enactments, interviews with historians and biographers, and archival photographs, newsreel clips and film.
- This three episode mini-series tells a remarkably detailed story of one of the more glamorous moments in aviation history.
- Episode 1 “Airborne”
- Introduces the film’s four main characters – airline executive Juan Trippe, pilot Charles Lindbergh, airplane builder Igor Sikorsky and radio engineer Hugo Leuteritz – as they separately struggle to find a place in post-World War I aviation.
- Their struggles illuminate the challenges all aviation pioneers face in these early, uncertain days.
- After repeated setbacks, the four men join forces and, capitalizing on the Air Mail Act and the aviation mania triggered by Lindbergh’s 1927 transatlantic flight, set out to build an airline to South America: That airline, Pan Am.
- Episode 2 “Latin Laboratory”
- As they push southward, Trippe, Sikorsky, Lindbergh and Leuteritz build larger flying boats, harness radio to navigate safely over great distances, and, with help from the U.S. government, outwit all competing airlines to dominate service to Latin America and launch the global air tourism industry.
- But all of this is merely preparation for their ultimate goal: flying the oceans.
- Trippe spends six years carefully laying plans for an Atlantic crossing – only to have his hopes dashed when Britain refuses to let Pan Am’s planes land because their own planes can’t make the ocean crossing.
- With $2 million in new planes on order, Trippe is stymied, with no ocean to cross.
- Episode 3 “Another Ocean”
- With his path across the Atlantic blocked, Juan Trippe surprises even his own staff by turning to the Pacific.
- Defying the skeptics, Pan Am builds an airway to Asia, allowing its airplanes to hopscotch across the world’s widest ocean by landing at five stepping stone islands: Hawaii, Midway, Wake Island, Guam and the Philippines.
- Hugo Leuteritz’s radio direction finders point the way, and Igor Sikorsky’s latest flying boat, the S-42, pioneers the route before giving way to the Martin M-130 known as the China Clipper.
- Within two years, Pan Am is offering regular passenger service to Hong Kong, connecting America and the Asian mainland.
- Air service from New York to London begins in 1939, completing a chain of airways encircling the globe.

[Music]
0:04:32.560,0:04:36.680
go for disney detective so our first
0:04:35.120,0:04:38.800
story comes from
0:04:36.680,0:04:40.800
insidethemagic.net and it talks about
0:04:38.800,0:04:43.840
the pirates of the caribbean ride
0:04:40.800,0:04:44.240
and some changes that they’ve updated to
0:04:43.840,0:04:46.320
it
0:04:44.240,0:04:48.560
so of course the worst part about
0:04:46.320,0:04:50.639
visiting walt disney world or disneyland
0:04:48.560,0:04:52.160
or any disney park is that at some point
0:04:50.639,0:04:54.639
you have to leave
0:04:52.160,0:04:55.199
so dealing with the disney blues is
0:04:54.639,0:04:57.520
something
0:04:55.199,0:05:00.080
almost all disney fans have to face but
0:04:57.520,0:05:02.000
there’s a way to kick that sadness out
0:05:00.080,0:05:05.199
and turn it into a magical
0:05:02.000,0:05:07.360
reminder of happiness so from adding
0:05:05.199,0:05:10.320
disney decor to your home
0:05:07.360,0:05:12.880
yeah check done that uh to watching
0:05:10.320,0:05:15.520
disney attraction videos on youtube
0:05:12.880,0:05:17.600
check done that there are many other
0:05:15.520,0:05:18.320
options for fans to be reminded of the
0:05:17.600,0:05:20.479
magic
0:05:18.320,0:05:21.360
so now there is a new video game that
0:05:20.479,0:05:23.680
may not only
0:05:21.360,0:05:25.759
help with the disney blues but also
0:05:23.680,0:05:28.160
allow fans to dive deeper
0:05:25.759,0:05:29.759
into the attraction that walt disney
0:05:28.160,0:05:33.680
himself created
0:05:29.759,0:05:33.680
so the sea of themes
0:05:33.919,0:05:39.759
sea of thieves a pirate’s life just
0:05:37.280,0:05:41.520
released a collaboration with disney
0:05:39.759,0:05:42.800
and the video game follows jack
0:05:41.520,0:05:44.400
sparrow’s adventure
0:05:42.800,0:05:46.240
that we have seen in the pirates of the
0:05:44.400,0:05:47.840
caribbean attraction
0:05:46.240,0:05:49.840
although the video game takes
0:05:47.840,0:05:52.720
inspiration from the films
0:05:49.840,0:05:54.400
it sees seems that some of the
0:05:52.720,0:05:56.880
aesthetics and settings
0:05:54.400,0:05:58.639
are very much based on the disneyland
0:05:56.880,0:06:00.800
version of the attraction
0:05:58.639,0:06:02.319
so players not only feel like they are
0:06:00.800,0:06:04.560
in the ride while playing
0:06:02.319,0:06:05.360
but they’re able to explore rooms and
0:06:04.560,0:06:08.000
scenes
0:06:05.360,0:06:08.800
that typically a guest would not be able
0:06:08.000,0:06:12.080
to get to
0:06:08.800,0:06:12.720
from their boat so on the disney parks
0:06:12.080,0:06:15.360
blog
0:06:12.720,0:06:15.759
they had noted that if you think riding
0:06:15.360,0:06:17.440
the
0:06:15.759,0:06:19.759
pirates of the caribbean attraction
0:06:17.440,0:06:23.280
immerses you into jack sparrows
0:06:19.759,0:06:24.479
world this game brings you to a whole
0:06:23.280,0:06:27.680
new level
0:06:24.479,0:06:30.800
it shows showcases several iconic scenes
0:06:27.680,0:06:33.120
from the original 1967
0:06:30.800,0:06:34.639
pirates of the caribbean attraction like
0:06:33.120,0:06:37.360
the treasure room
0:06:34.639,0:06:40.160
the ship battle and the jail scene
0:06:37.360,0:06:43.199
featuring the dog holding the keys
0:06:40.160,0:06:44.960
pirate fans can adventure and explore
0:06:43.199,0:06:46.560
through these well-known scenes brought
0:06:44.960,0:06:48.479
to life in the game in a beaut
0:06:46.560,0:06:49.599
in beautiful detail and truly an
0:06:48.479,0:06:52.000
authentic
0:06:49.599,0:06:53.120
um that’s authentic to the classic
0:06:52.000,0:06:56.400
attraction
0:06:53.120,0:06:58.479
um and obviously you are the player and
0:06:56.400,0:07:01.680
the main character in this
0:06:58.479,0:07:05.280
um so many disney fans who you know
0:07:01.680,0:07:08.080
love all the details about this um
0:07:05.280,0:07:08.639
have actually you know posted about it
0:07:08.080,0:07:10.960
as well
0:07:08.639,0:07:11.840
so there was actually a tick tock that
0:07:10.960,0:07:14.560
was done
0:07:11.840,0:07:16.880
where they showed a side by side
0:07:14.560,0:07:19.599
comparison of the ride
0:07:16.880,0:07:20.080
to the game and it was you know pretty
0:07:19.599,0:07:23.039
spot
0:07:20.080,0:07:23.759
on uh with it um the person that wrote
0:07:23.039,0:07:25.680
this article
0:07:23.759,0:07:26.960
also talked about you know as someone
0:07:25.680,0:07:29.680
who had played
0:07:26.960,0:07:30.000
vmk which was something that i used to
0:07:29.680,0:07:32.960
play
0:07:30.000,0:07:34.560
you used to play a little bit as well
0:07:32.960,0:07:36.319
that in its heyday
0:07:34.560,0:07:38.319
you know disney fans were really
0:07:36.319,0:07:40.960
immersed in that because it was a whole
0:07:38.319,0:07:42.880
theme park but with all these little
0:07:40.960,0:07:44.960
mini games as well
0:07:42.880,0:07:46.240
and now it kind of gives you that chance
0:07:44.960,0:07:48.800
to to
0:07:46.240,0:07:50.000
relive you know at least that part of
0:07:48.800,0:07:52.400
the attraction
0:07:50.000,0:07:54.240
um so sea of thieves a pirate’s life is
0:07:52.400,0:07:58.319
available on mobile
0:07:54.240,0:08:00.479
windows pc uh steam and xbox
0:07:58.319,0:08:02.240
yeah so sea of thieves was an existing
0:08:00.479,0:08:04.080
game that was a power game that was out
0:08:02.240,0:08:06.560
there right so now this is the
0:08:04.080,0:08:07.520
disney version right so so it’s a
0:08:06.560,0:08:08.960
different version
0:08:07.520,0:08:11.520
so it’s a different version of the game
0:08:08.960,0:08:12.479
it’s not an add-on for that oh see that
0:08:11.520,0:08:14.319
wasn’t what i
0:08:12.479,0:08:15.840
okay i thought it was just an add-on for
0:08:14.319,0:08:17.680
me no it’s a
0:08:15.840,0:08:19.840
different because the game itself is
0:08:17.680,0:08:22.240
great it was a very realistic game like
0:08:19.840,0:08:22.879
when you were on your ship like to sail
0:08:22.240,0:08:25.280
your ship
0:08:22.879,0:08:27.759
right you had to you know put the sails
0:08:25.280,0:08:29.919
up and angle the sales and steer it and
0:08:27.759,0:08:32.000
you know it was a very hands-on
0:08:29.919,0:08:33.200
multiplayer experience that sam and i
0:08:32.000,0:08:35.519
would play
0:08:33.200,0:08:37.360
and we would play it over the internet
0:08:35.519,0:08:38.800
so some of the the graphics were always
0:08:37.360,0:08:40.880
kind of cartoony with it
0:08:38.800,0:08:42.640
right right and that’s what this kind of
0:08:40.880,0:08:46.000
looked like too because i watched the
0:08:42.640,0:08:46.640
trailer right for it and so that’s kind
0:08:46.000,0:08:49.760
of cool
0:08:46.640,0:08:50.880
kind of cool and you know i i think we
0:08:49.760,0:08:54.080
both kind of miss
0:08:50.880,0:08:55.839
vmk very much so the uh the pirates of
0:08:54.080,0:08:57.839
the caribbean was my favorite part
0:08:55.839,0:08:58.880
right which was going on it was so cool
0:08:57.839,0:09:00.880
sailing around
0:08:58.880,0:09:01.920
yeah and trying to blow up the other
0:09:00.880,0:09:04.240
ships yeah
0:09:01.920,0:09:06.000
yeah it was it was really fun so it was
0:09:04.240,0:09:07.680
kind of sad to see it go but wanted
0:09:06.000,0:09:08.800
mansion was my favorite but you know
0:09:07.680,0:09:11.600
that’s not really
0:09:08.800,0:09:12.480
surprising well and disney has disney
0:09:11.600,0:09:14.800
has this
0:09:12.480,0:09:16.160
this habit of coming out with this
0:09:14.800,0:09:18.720
popular
0:09:16.160,0:09:20.560
you know interactive game experience and
0:09:18.720,0:09:23.200
then pulling the plug on it they did the
0:09:20.560,0:09:25.600
same thing with the infinities
0:09:23.200,0:09:27.040
right you know we went out and we bought
0:09:25.600,0:09:28.240
all the infinities figures in fact they
0:09:27.040,0:09:29.920
have all the star wars ones sitting
0:09:28.240,0:09:32.480
downstairs on top of the tv
0:09:29.920,0:09:33.760
right and you got so invested in it and
0:09:32.480,0:09:35.519
then all of a sudden they pull the plug
0:09:33.760,0:09:36.480
for no good reason it wasn’t a lack of
0:09:35.519,0:09:39.600
sales or anything
0:09:36.480,0:09:40.720
right right yeah um so
0:09:39.600,0:09:42.640
hopefully they’re not going to do the
0:09:40.720,0:09:43.839
same thing with this yeah well you have
0:09:42.640,0:09:46.800
to buy the game so
0:09:43.839,0:09:48.000
you know well yeah you had to buy the
0:09:46.800,0:09:50.160
other stuff too
0:09:48.000,0:09:51.680
right but the game’s not once you
0:09:50.160,0:09:53.839
physically have the game
0:09:51.680,0:09:54.959
you can still play it well it’s a
0:09:53.839,0:09:56.560
there’s an is there
0:09:54.959,0:09:58.000
there’s an online element to it though
0:09:56.560,0:09:59.680
right uh
0:09:58.000,0:10:01.839
maybe because there’s the sea of thieves
0:09:59.680,0:10:02.240
itself is an online interactive element
0:10:01.839,0:10:05.839
okay
0:10:02.240,0:10:05.839
you can play offline
0:10:10.880,0:10:14.240
you’re not the gamer side of the
0:10:12.399,0:10:15.440
entertainment all the games that i play
0:10:14.240,0:10:18.240
are on my phone
0:10:15.440,0:10:20.079
and where you don’t get motion sick
0:10:18.240,0:10:23.360
that’s exactly why i do
0:10:20.079,0:10:25.920
the screen the better you are i can’t
0:10:23.360,0:10:28.399
handle those
0:10:25.920,0:10:29.040
so so tell us about scarlett johansson’s
0:10:28.399,0:10:32.160
next so
0:10:29.040,0:10:35.200
now it seems that scarlett johansson
0:10:32.160,0:10:38.320
and disney are teaming up to
0:10:35.200,0:10:41.920
redo or come out with a new version of
0:10:38.320,0:10:42.399
a tower of terror ride or a not ride
0:10:41.920,0:10:45.279
movie
0:10:42.399,0:10:45.600
based on the ride so scarlett johansson
0:10:45.279,0:10:48.560
uh
0:10:45.600,0:10:50.240
obviously she is well known in the
0:10:48.560,0:10:54.240
disney marvel
0:10:50.240,0:10:56.399
universe as black widow who actually has
0:10:54.240,0:10:58.160
a movie coming out within the next two
0:10:56.399,0:11:01.600
weeks i believe
0:10:58.160,0:11:04.959
it seems that she is attached to produce
0:11:01.600,0:11:06.560
the tower of terror the holly um uh the
0:11:04.959,0:11:08.800
tower of terror movie
0:11:06.560,0:11:09.600
which the report came from the hollywood
0:11:08.800,0:11:12.720
reporter
0:11:09.600,0:11:16.160
so it seems toy story for director
0:11:12.720,0:11:17.839
uh josh cooley is penning the script for
0:11:16.160,0:11:19.519
the project which is based on the
0:11:17.839,0:11:21.920
classic disney theme park
0:11:19.519,0:11:23.519
ride so plot details are being kept
0:11:21.920,0:11:26.320
under wraps and it’s unclear
0:11:23.519,0:11:27.440
if the oscar nominee would even act in
0:11:26.320,0:11:30.560
the project
0:11:27.440,0:11:33.760
so johansen is producing uh with
0:11:30.560,0:11:38.560
her these pictures banner with jonathan
0:11:33.760,0:11:41.680
jonathan leah um so the tower of terror
0:11:38.560,0:11:43.120
first opened in 1994 at disney’s
0:11:41.680,0:11:45.519
hollywood studios and then
0:11:43.120,0:11:47.200
other tower of terror rides opened in
0:11:45.519,0:11:50.079
disney california
0:11:47.200,0:11:51.279
disney’s california adventure and
0:11:50.079,0:11:53.839
france’s
0:11:51.279,0:11:55.360
uh walt disney studio park and then also
0:11:53.839,0:11:58.160
at tokyo seas
0:11:55.360,0:12:00.000
so the ride is known for its ending with
0:11:58.160,0:12:02.079
a terrifying drop
0:12:00.000,0:12:03.440
now for some of you that might remember
0:12:02.079,0:12:07.040
there was a
0:12:03.440,0:12:09.040
tv movie that actually came out in 1997
0:12:07.040,0:12:11.440
that starred steve guttenberg as a
0:12:09.040,0:12:14.720
reporter investigating the cases
0:12:11.440,0:12:16.800
of a 1930s uh hotel where people
0:12:14.720,0:12:19.600
mysteriously disappeared
0:12:16.800,0:12:21.120
and prince uh kristen dunst was actually
0:12:19.600,0:12:23.360
playing his niece in
0:12:21.120,0:12:24.880
i remember that i remember i actually
0:12:23.360,0:12:25.760
enjoyed that one because that was the
0:12:24.880,0:12:28.800
only way
0:12:25.760,0:12:29.519
i was gonna ever enjoy the ride because
0:12:28.800,0:12:32.560
there was
0:12:29.519,0:12:35.200
no way i was ever gonna go on this
0:12:32.560,0:12:36.079
um so obviously disney has found past
0:12:35.200,0:12:38.079
success
0:12:36.079,0:12:39.519
with films based on rides such as
0:12:38.079,0:12:43.120
pirates of the caribbean
0:12:39.519,0:12:44.800
uh which has spawned five films um
0:12:43.120,0:12:46.639
so the tower of terror development we
0:12:44.800,0:12:47.600
shouldn’t have well some of them were
0:12:46.639,0:12:49.839
better than others
0:12:47.600,0:12:52.000
uh tower of terror development comes as
0:12:49.839,0:12:54.480
disney prepares to unleash another
0:12:52.000,0:12:56.079
ride feature show jungle cruise which
0:12:54.480,0:12:58.399
we’ve talked about before
0:12:56.079,0:12:59.120
that will be opening up the end of this
0:12:58.399,0:13:01.920
month
0:12:59.120,0:13:03.839
starring dwayne johnson and emily blunt
0:13:01.920,0:13:06.800
and we won’t talk about the
0:13:03.839,0:13:07.839
haunted mansion one or the country bears
0:13:06.800,0:13:09.760
one
0:13:07.839,0:13:11.200
we’ll only talk about pirates because
0:13:09.760,0:13:15.680
that was the only one that
0:13:11.200,0:13:17.200
overall 4.5 billion dollars combined so
0:13:15.680,0:13:19.360
i think it’s interesting that she’s
0:13:17.200,0:13:20.560
she’s going to be producing it
0:13:19.360,0:13:22.639
and they haven’t announced whether or
0:13:20.560,0:13:24.800
not she’s going to be thinking in it
0:13:22.639,0:13:26.880
i have a feeling she probably won’t star
0:13:24.800,0:13:28.480
in it i’m curious why she would be
0:13:26.880,0:13:30.560
producing it though
0:13:28.480,0:13:32.560
well it’s her company so i don’t know
0:13:30.560,0:13:35.760
but like what interest does she have
0:13:32.560,0:13:37.360
in that particular you know
0:13:35.760,0:13:38.560
there has to be some time something
0:13:37.360,0:13:40.560
you’re gonna you’re probably gonna see
0:13:38.560,0:13:42.240
some kind of time in the discovery maybe
0:13:40.560,0:13:44.079
black widow went to the park and you
0:13:42.240,0:13:46.000
know got caught on the ride or something
0:13:44.079,0:13:48.510
or maybe this is her way of turning
0:13:46.000,0:13:52.750
tower tara into a black widow ride
0:13:48.510,0:13:52.750
[Music]
0:13:54.160,0:13:58.240
that’s a possibility you never know you
0:13:55.839,0:13:59.920
never know so that was all we had for
0:13:58.240,0:14:02.160
our disney detective
0:13:59.920,0:14:05.680
we’ll be right back with our tales from

go for tails from the edge of the galaxy
0:15:21.440,0:15:26.480
so our first story comes from
0:15:24.120,0:15:30.399
jedinews.com and it seems that
0:15:26.480,0:15:33.680
slave one is no more long live
0:15:30.399,0:15:33.920
boba fett starship so with the release
0:15:33.680,0:15:37.680
of
0:15:33.920,0:15:37.680
boba fett boba fitz
0:15:37.920,0:15:44.320
he’s having a fit over here he’s so mad
0:15:41.440,0:15:45.360
uh iconic ship in the latest lego
0:15:44.320,0:15:47.920
incarnation
0:15:45.360,0:15:50.399
you will notice that the name slave 1
0:15:47.920,0:15:53.519
has been dropped in favor of
0:15:50.399,0:15:56.639
boba fett’s starship as directed uh
0:15:53.519,0:15:59.440
by disney it seems so during lego fan
0:15:56.639,0:16:00.240
media days last month the lego star wars
0:15:59.440,0:16:04.480
team
0:16:00.240,0:16:07.759
of uh jens harvo’d
0:16:04.480,0:16:08.720
uh frederickson and michael lee
0:16:07.759,0:16:10.639
stockwell
0:16:08.720,0:16:12.399
were asked about the name change as they
0:16:10.639,0:16:14.160
showed off the set for the first time
0:16:12.399,0:16:16.639
and this is what they said
0:16:14.160,0:16:18.480
so hey there’s this is the next one it’s
0:16:16.639,0:16:19.440
the mandalorian it’s boba fett’s
0:16:18.480,0:16:21.120
starship
0:16:19.440,0:16:22.639
yeah well i built another but we’re not
0:16:21.120,0:16:25.040
calling it slave one anymore
0:16:22.639,0:16:26.000
this is boba fett starship well why’d we
0:16:25.040,0:16:27.920
drop the name
0:16:26.000,0:16:29.440
well everybody is it’s probably not
0:16:27.920,0:16:30.959
something which has been announced
0:16:29.440,0:16:33.440
publicly but it’s just something that
0:16:30.959,0:16:36.000
disney doesn’t want us to use anymore
0:16:33.440,0:16:37.040
that was basically yeah that was the
0:16:36.000,0:16:39.839
confirmation
0:16:37.040,0:16:42.199
that was the confirmation so hmm so it
0:16:39.839,0:16:44.880
seems that it is a new
0:16:42.199,0:16:47.839
478-piece lego uh
0:16:44.880,0:16:48.160
set which is just called star wars boba
0:16:47.839,0:16:51.120
fett
0:16:48.160,0:16:51.839
starship uh it’ll be available on august
0:16:51.120,0:16:54.079
1st
0:16:51.839,0:16:56.639
uh it’ll come with minifigures of boba
0:16:54.079,0:16:59.440
fett and the mandalorian in it
0:16:56.639,0:17:00.240
so it kind of and there was another
0:16:59.440,0:17:03.759
article
0:17:00.240,0:17:04.000
that came out which we didn’t include
0:17:03.759,0:17:06.480
but
0:17:04.000,0:17:08.319
it was talking about all the different
0:17:06.480,0:17:09.360
star wars sets that were coming out and
0:17:08.319,0:17:12.319
it basically
0:17:09.360,0:17:13.280
just said boba fett’s ship it wasn’t
0:17:12.319,0:17:15.439
saying
0:17:13.280,0:17:16.799
uh anything so there were a couple of
0:17:15.439,0:17:19.839
other little things that
0:17:16.799,0:17:22.000
kind of talked about it like okay so can
0:17:19.839,0:17:25.120
you not call it slave one anymore
0:17:22.000,0:17:28.640
is that the cancel culture right
0:17:25.120,0:17:31.039
thing like yeah and i think this is a
0:17:28.640,0:17:32.559
this is being a victim of political
0:17:31.039,0:17:35.200
correctness
0:17:32.559,0:17:36.080
because there’s an entire story behind
0:17:35.200,0:17:38.640
it
0:17:36.080,0:17:40.640
that explains why it’s called slave one
0:17:38.640,0:17:42.559
okay the fact that it’s been handed down
0:17:40.640,0:17:46.320
from father to son
0:17:42.559,0:17:49.919
if anyone played the bounty hunter
0:17:46.320,0:17:52.240
game for the ps2 i think it was
0:17:49.919,0:17:53.039
uh in the game one of the missions is
0:17:52.240,0:17:56.559
actually
0:17:53.039,0:17:58.080
acquiring the new ship itself
0:17:56.559,0:18:00.320
and how it’s named and everything else
0:17:58.080,0:18:01.120
so there’s there’s a lot of story around
0:18:00.320,0:18:04.880
it
0:18:01.120,0:18:07.600
and it was never something that was
0:18:04.880,0:18:09.360
offensive right or i don’t want to say
0:18:07.600,0:18:10.320
it wasn’t offensive it wasn’t intended
0:18:09.360,0:18:12.160
to be
0:18:10.320,0:18:13.360
offensive because the references that it
0:18:12.160,0:18:17.520
made were all in
0:18:13.360,0:18:19.679
universe so if that’s the case then does
0:18:17.520,0:18:21.840
job of the hut not have slaves anymore
0:18:19.679,0:18:24.559
does slavery not exist anymore was
0:18:21.840,0:18:27.200
anakin not a slave now so it’s like
0:18:24.559,0:18:28.799
slave leia right you can’t go back what
0:18:27.200,0:18:31.120
do you call her now
0:18:28.799,0:18:32.080
right you can’t go back and scrub star
0:18:31.120,0:18:34.320
wars because
0:18:32.080,0:18:35.919
a few people might be offended by it
0:18:34.320,0:18:37.919
anymore that you can go back and scrub
0:18:35.919,0:18:39.280
history and say that slavery doesn’t
0:18:37.919,0:18:41.520
didn’t exist you can’t use the word
0:18:39.280,0:18:42.799
slave anymore right it’s like you can’t
0:18:41.520,0:18:45.200
do that because then you
0:18:42.799,0:18:46.720
you you water down your history and you
0:18:45.200,0:18:49.440
lose
0:18:46.720,0:18:49.840
significance right right if anything you
0:18:49.440,0:18:51.840
you
0:18:49.840,0:18:53.600
take an opportunity like this to maybe
0:18:51.840,0:18:56.000
educate people
0:18:53.600,0:18:58.240
on the right and wrong surrounding the
0:18:56.000,0:19:01.440
term or maybe have boba fett
0:18:58.240,0:19:03.280
rename his ship or you do that in in
0:19:01.440,0:19:05.120
the series the series that you know
0:19:03.280,0:19:06.400
that’s coming up he decides you know
0:19:05.120,0:19:09.600
what i’m no longer
0:19:06.400,0:19:12.320
a slave to whoever right
0:19:09.600,0:19:13.120
i am now slave to the empire anymore
0:19:12.320,0:19:15.840
right
0:19:13.120,0:19:17.200
so i’m gonna it’s liberation one now or
0:19:15.840,0:19:20.559
something you know
0:19:17.200,0:19:22.640
i i don’t know baby yoda won
0:19:20.559,0:19:24.400
you know my point is right there’s a way
0:19:22.640,0:19:27.120
to do it right
0:19:24.400,0:19:29.280
and then there’s a way to make an
0:19:27.120,0:19:30.880
obvious choice but not address the
0:19:29.280,0:19:32.480
elephant in the room right
0:19:30.880,0:19:34.320
and that’s the course disney’s going
0:19:32.480,0:19:35.520
here and that’s the wrong way to do it
0:19:34.320,0:19:37.520
because there’s an educational
0:19:35.520,0:19:38.000
opportunity here that they could take
0:19:37.520,0:19:41.120
advantage
0:19:38.000,0:19:43.600
of anyway just by two cents
0:19:41.120,0:19:44.559
okay not gonna ran on that one okay i’ll
0:19:43.600,0:19:46.480
ran on the next one
0:19:44.559,0:19:49.360
no i’m just kidding i was gonna say the
0:19:46.480,0:19:51.280
next one wasn’t a bad one
0:19:49.360,0:19:54.320
tell us about the next one so our next
0:19:51.280,0:19:54.320
story comes from
0:19:54.600,0:19:58.320
starwarsnewsnet.com and it seems that
0:19:56.799,0:20:00.559
the national academy
0:19:58.320,0:20:02.880
of television arts and sciences
0:20:00.559,0:20:06.320
announced the nominees for the 48th
0:20:02.880,0:20:10.000
annual daytime emmy awards children’s
0:20:06.320,0:20:11.919
and animation and lifestyle categories
0:20:10.000,0:20:14.080
who say that five times fast which will
0:20:11.919,0:20:17.039
be celebrated in two
0:20:14.080,0:20:18.080
live streamed events on july 17th and
0:20:17.039,0:20:21.679
18th
0:20:18.080,0:20:24.320
and it seems that the clone wars
0:20:21.679,0:20:25.600
was nominated for three different
0:20:24.320,0:20:27.600
categories
0:20:25.600,0:20:28.640
um so the categories hit on three
0:20:27.600,0:20:31.039
different targets
0:20:28.640,0:20:32.640
outstanding writing team for a daytime
0:20:31.039,0:20:34.640
animated program
0:20:32.640,0:20:36.240
outstanding music direction and
0:20:34.640,0:20:38.640
composition for
0:20:36.240,0:20:39.760
a preschool children’s or animated
0:20:38.640,0:20:42.720
program
0:20:39.760,0:20:44.159
and outstanding sound mixing and sound
0:20:42.720,0:20:48.320
editing for a daytime
0:20:44.159,0:20:49.919
animated program that was a whole lot
0:20:48.320,0:20:52.240
um how do you know why they do this
0:20:49.919,0:20:55.679
offline right exactly
0:20:52.240,0:20:58.559
uh so obviously i
0:20:55.679,0:20:59.760
didn’t watch this last season of clone
0:20:58.559,0:21:02.880
wars but you did
0:20:59.760,0:21:03.760
and you seem to be a fan of it you
0:21:02.880,0:21:06.960
thought it was
0:21:03.760,0:21:10.080
well done for um
0:21:06.960,0:21:13.200
you know coming back into the the story
0:21:10.080,0:21:16.320
um what was nice about uh this as well
0:21:13.200,0:21:18.640
was that star wars official social media
0:21:16.320,0:21:22.000
accounts also celebrated the news
0:21:18.640,0:21:23.880
with tweaked versions of the main
0:21:22.000,0:21:25.280
season six poster basically
0:21:23.880,0:21:28.000
congratulating
0:21:25.280,0:21:30.240
uh the different nominations that they
0:21:28.000,0:21:32.000
um had received
0:21:30.240,0:21:34.000
yeah i mean the series itself was
0:21:32.000,0:21:34.960
actually very well done i get a kick out
0:21:34.000,0:21:37.760
of the fact that the
0:21:34.960,0:21:39.200
uh they associate the awards with
0:21:37.760,0:21:43.039
preschool shows but yes
0:21:39.200,0:21:45.520
clone wars is not a preschool show
0:21:43.039,0:21:47.840
um the only criticism i think i had
0:21:45.520,0:21:50.000
about some of it was they had they had
0:21:47.840,0:21:52.159
they had introduced some fluff episodes
0:21:50.000,0:21:55.520
in there that did nothing for
0:21:52.159,0:21:58.880
the overarching storyline okay
0:21:55.520,0:22:00.880
um and they they mercilessly
0:21:58.880,0:22:02.720
used the plot line on a couple of the
0:22:00.880,0:22:05.840
episodes to launch
0:22:02.720,0:22:07.520
bad badge like like literally there was
0:22:05.840,0:22:09.360
it was completely disjointed from the
0:22:07.520,0:22:11.200
rest of the seasonal park just so they
0:22:09.360,0:22:13.760
could introduce these guys
0:22:11.200,0:22:15.120
and give them their own show okay um but
0:22:13.760,0:22:16.480
you know as with anything that dave
0:22:15.120,0:22:18.799
filoni does it was
0:22:16.480,0:22:20.960
fantastically written the animation has
0:22:18.799,0:22:23.200
gotten progressively better
0:22:20.960,0:22:25.039
and it was a perfect cap for the the
0:22:23.200,0:22:27.520
other season for the entire series
0:22:25.039,0:22:29.840
right right definitely deserving i hope
0:22:27.520,0:22:33.120
they they pick up a couple of these
0:22:29.840,0:22:35.760
so that was all we had for our uh
0:22:33.120,0:22:37.039
tales from the edge of the galaxy we’re
0:22:35.760,0:22:38.840
going to take our last break
0:22:37.039,0:22:41.840
and we’ll be back with our entertainment

0:23:53.039,0:23:57.279
go for entertainment news sir our first
0:23:55.919,0:24:00.640
story actually comes from
0:23:57.279,0:24:03.840
tmz i’m so surprised at you sometimes
0:24:00.640,0:24:06.880
you can go with the rag it’s
0:24:03.840,0:24:10.000
so this has been all
0:24:06.880,0:24:12.880
over the place um you know
0:24:10.000,0:24:15.039
all of the different news outlets have
0:24:12.880,0:24:17.279
been talking about poor britney spears
0:24:15.039,0:24:19.919
and and the conservatorship and
0:24:17.279,0:24:22.080
and everything and and the the legal
0:24:19.919,0:24:23.120
battle that that’s basically going on
0:24:22.080,0:24:25.919
between
0:24:23.120,0:24:26.480
uh her her family you know her dad
0:24:25.919,0:24:28.799
really
0:24:26.480,0:24:29.919
uh who’s the primary of this
0:24:28.799,0:24:33.279
conservatorship
0:24:29.919,0:24:36.159
and uh do they even need it anymore and
0:24:33.279,0:24:38.159
and you know various different uh
0:24:36.159,0:24:40.640
celebrities are coming out
0:24:38.159,0:24:41.760
um it actually i think started what last
0:24:40.640,0:24:44.880
month the month before
0:24:41.760,0:24:48.080
where it was the hashtag free brittany
0:24:44.880,0:24:49.840
when i guess news of the conservatorship
0:24:48.080,0:24:52.240
was kind of coming to light and there
0:24:49.840,0:24:55.279
were all these court cases
0:24:52.240,0:24:57.279
um you know where she’s basically trying
0:24:55.279,0:25:00.559
to get the court to overturn
0:24:57.279,0:25:03.600
everything um you know so now
0:25:00.559,0:25:04.080
her dad has basically fired back at her
0:25:03.600,0:25:07.120
uh
0:25:04.080,0:25:09.600
at uh brittany’s allegations
0:25:07.120,0:25:11.279
uh that he’s taken away her freedom even
0:25:09.600,0:25:13.440
the right to marry
0:25:11.279,0:25:14.960
and he says that that actually falls on
0:25:13.440,0:25:17.600
his successor
0:25:14.960,0:25:19.440
uh that he you know isn’t really in
0:25:17.600,0:25:22.799
charge anymore i guess it’s kind of
0:25:19.440,0:25:24.640
more in name only or hey not really a
0:25:22.799,0:25:26.640
name only but hey you’re giving me all
0:25:24.640,0:25:29.919
the money
0:25:26.640,0:25:32.240
really um and it seems that uh
0:25:29.919,0:25:34.159
her dad had filed legal documents
0:25:32.240,0:25:34.960
claiming that he has not had any
0:25:34.159,0:25:37.440
involvement
0:25:34.960,0:25:38.720
in her personal conser uh
0:25:37.440,0:25:41.679
conservatorship
0:25:38.720,0:25:42.640
um meaning making decisions on behalf of
0:25:41.679,0:25:45.520
her for nearly
0:25:42.640,0:25:47.120
two years he says that he hasn’t even
0:25:45.520,0:25:48.640
spoken to her
0:25:47.120,0:25:51.440
that he’s been cut off from
0:25:48.640,0:25:55.120
communicating with her
0:25:51.440,0:25:57.200
he then also blames uh lays blame with
0:25:55.120,0:25:58.559
these restrictive rules that are in
0:25:57.200,0:26:01.200
place by the
0:25:58.559,0:26:02.799
current personal conservator who is
0:26:01.200,0:26:05.279
jamie montgomery
0:26:02.799,0:26:06.799
uh he says that britney’s lawyer also
0:26:05.279,0:26:10.400
filed documents
0:26:06.799,0:26:12.320
uh to appoint montgomery he claimed that
0:26:10.400,0:26:12.880
at the time britney did not have the
0:26:12.320,0:26:15.279
mental
0:26:12.880,0:26:16.480
capacity to make decisions about her
0:26:15.279,0:26:18.159
medical treatment
0:26:16.480,0:26:20.080
and therefore it was left to the
0:26:18.159,0:26:23.679
conservator
0:26:20.080,0:26:25.919
of her person who is now jody montgomery
0:26:23.679,0:26:27.919
so basically he’s saying yeah that the
0:26:25.919,0:26:28.799
net the court never found that she was
0:26:27.919,0:26:31.360
unable
0:26:28.799,0:26:33.679
uh to consent to medical treatment and
0:26:31.360,0:26:36.960
the court never made such an order
0:26:33.679,0:26:38.080
and it’s just like this whole back and
0:26:36.960,0:26:40.559
forth really like
0:26:38.080,0:26:41.840
i kind of feel bad for you know
0:26:40.559,0:26:43.600
everybody
0:26:41.840,0:26:45.200
involved you know she’s basically saying
0:26:43.600,0:26:49.039
that she has uh
0:26:45.200,0:26:51.840
you know no reproductive rights
0:26:49.039,0:26:54.000
that you know that’s basically being
0:26:51.840,0:26:54.720
handled by this she can’t get married
0:26:54.000,0:26:59.039
she can’t have
0:26:54.720,0:27:01.520
kids you know and it’s just
0:26:59.039,0:27:03.840
like we were talking you know before
0:27:01.520,0:27:04.799
this like yeah she went through a phase
0:27:03.840,0:27:07.679
where she was
0:27:04.799,0:27:09.679
a little out there and this was kind of
0:27:07.679,0:27:13.120
put into place to
0:27:09.679,0:27:16.640
to help with things but you know
0:27:13.120,0:27:18.960
at this point let her live her life you
0:27:16.640,0:27:22.080
know it’s not like she’s a little kid
0:27:18.960,0:27:25.360
um you know her children are older
0:27:22.080,0:27:29.120
uh you know she’s been doing well
0:27:25.360,0:27:31.520
for the most part uh you know obviously
0:27:29.120,0:27:32.320
she even posted you know on social media
0:27:31.520,0:27:35.840
that
0:27:32.320,0:27:38.399
um i might seem like things are okay but
0:27:35.840,0:27:41.600
sometimes things aren’t everybody has
0:27:38.399,0:27:42.080
bad days but i don’t want to keep lying
0:27:41.600,0:27:43.440
and
0:27:42.080,0:27:45.200
you know everybody thinking oh
0:27:43.440,0:27:46.720
everything’s all hunky-dory when it’s
0:27:45.200,0:27:49.200
not because she just doesn’t feel like
0:27:46.720,0:27:50.000
she has control of her own life at this
0:27:49.200,0:27:52.880
point so
0:27:50.000,0:27:54.399
yeah yeah it’s one of those things where
0:27:52.880,0:27:57.120
the conservatorship
0:27:54.399,0:27:58.720
when it came in at the point in her life
0:27:57.120,0:28:02.080
that she was at
0:27:58.720,0:28:04.000
probably saved her life um i agree yeah
0:28:02.080,0:28:06.399
probably a few times i mean i think she
0:28:04.000,0:28:08.399
was going down a path where
0:28:06.399,0:28:09.679
she would have been the next celebrity
0:28:08.399,0:28:13.360
that od’d
0:28:09.679,0:28:15.200
or you know whatever it was um
0:28:13.360,0:28:17.360
but there comes a point where you have
0:28:15.200,0:28:18.399
to assume personal responsibility and i
0:28:17.360,0:28:19.919
think the courts are kind of
0:28:18.399,0:28:23.440
overstepping their bounds here
0:28:19.919,0:28:25.600
right by allowing this to continue
0:28:23.440,0:28:27.039
and in the process you’ve got her father
0:28:25.600,0:28:28.559
for instance is drawing a hundred
0:28:27.039,0:28:29.600
thousand dollar salary off of his
0:28:28.559,0:28:31.440
daughter
0:28:29.600,0:28:33.600
to handle what he’s handling for her
0:28:31.440,0:28:35.360
right at that point in time
0:28:33.600,0:28:36.799
does he really have her best interest or
0:28:35.360,0:28:39.279
his best interest
0:28:36.799,0:28:40.159
at heart yeah you know the courts need
0:28:39.279,0:28:44.399
to kind of step
0:28:40.159,0:28:45.840
in here and be the the mature adult
0:28:44.399,0:28:47.520
you know they need to be the ones that
0:28:45.840,0:28:49.440
go in and say look this is her life at
0:28:47.520,0:28:51.760
this point in time
0:28:49.440,0:28:52.799
you’ve dug her out of this pit right she
0:28:51.760,0:28:56.399
has to be able to
0:28:52.799,0:28:58.240
live her own life yeah and she needs to
0:28:56.399,0:29:00.480
be able to surround herself with people
0:28:58.240,0:29:02.960
that are out for her best interests
0:29:00.480,0:29:04.559
yeah and i think clearly right now
0:29:02.960,0:29:08.399
that’s questionable
0:29:04.559,0:29:10.880
so it’s unfortunate but uh
0:29:08.399,0:29:12.399
first world problems i guess right yeah
0:29:10.880,0:29:14.880
yeah so
0:29:12.399,0:29:15.440
so what else do we have so our last
0:29:14.880,0:29:19.679
story
0:29:15.440,0:29:21.679
came from msnbc or msn.com
0:29:19.679,0:29:22.799
and it seems that the black panther
0:29:21.679,0:29:26.159
sequel has now
0:29:22.799,0:29:28.000
officially begun filming so fans have
0:29:26.159,0:29:30.320
been waiting for a follow-up to black
0:29:28.000,0:29:34.640
panther ever since the firm
0:29:30.320,0:29:37.440
the film came out in 2018 obviously
0:29:34.640,0:29:38.799
anticipation turned to heartbreak when
0:29:37.440,0:29:41.200
last summer
0:29:38.799,0:29:41.840
chadwick boseman had passed away after
0:29:41.200,0:29:45.360
battling
0:29:41.840,0:29:48.399
uh cancer his loss obviously sent
0:29:45.360,0:29:51.039
shockwaves to fans uh fellow actors and
0:29:48.399,0:29:54.559
the entertainment industry as a whole
0:29:51.039,0:29:56.880
so on top of that it was um
0:29:54.559,0:29:58.159
you know what were they going to do with
0:29:56.880,0:30:00.799
the film there was
0:29:58.159,0:30:02.080
so much speculation going back and forth
0:30:00.799,0:30:04.720
uh would they
0:30:02.080,0:30:05.840
uh recast the role would they digitally
0:30:04.720,0:30:09.600
replicate him
0:30:05.840,0:30:11.919
um you know where were they gonna go
0:30:09.600,0:30:12.960
with the storyline so obviously not a
0:30:11.919,0:30:16.399
whole lot
0:30:12.960,0:30:19.039
has been uh released about it yet
0:30:16.399,0:30:20.960
um so what we do know is that the role
0:30:19.039,0:30:24.640
has not been recast
0:30:20.960,0:30:27.120
there won’t be any digital replication
0:30:24.640,0:30:28.880
they basically had said that disney
0:30:27.120,0:30:29.760
confirmed that they would be honoring
0:30:28.880,0:30:32.880
his legacy
0:30:29.760,0:30:36.159
and portrayal of t’challa
0:30:32.880,0:30:38.399
and that they will explore the world of
0:30:36.159,0:30:41.600
wakanda and the rich characters
0:30:38.399,0:30:43.679
introduced in the first film so not too
0:30:41.600,0:30:47.039
much of a teaser yet
0:30:43.679,0:30:47.840
as to what they’re doing but at least we
0:30:47.039,0:30:50.799
know
0:30:47.840,0:30:51.679
he won’t be replaced in it yeah and
0:30:50.799,0:30:54.480
there’s a certain
0:30:51.679,0:30:55.520
amount of comfort i think we can take in
0:30:54.480,0:30:58.320
in the fact that
0:30:55.520,0:31:00.240
that role was his roads no one’s going
0:30:58.320,0:31:02.720
to come in and take it over right
0:31:00.240,0:31:03.679
they’re not going to cheapen it by doing
0:31:02.720,0:31:07.279
cgi
0:31:03.679,0:31:10.000
right and i would be willing to bet that
0:31:07.279,0:31:11.919
they’re probably going to have a tribute
0:31:10.000,0:31:13.519
in the film i can totally see that
0:31:11.919,0:31:14.640
they’re going to end the character in
0:31:13.519,0:31:16.159
the film itself
0:31:14.640,0:31:18.080
so that they can move the story forward
0:31:16.159,0:31:19.519
and it’s going to be a tear jerker oh
0:31:18.080,0:31:21.360
absolutely no you’re gonna be balling
0:31:19.519,0:31:23.919
your eyes absolutely
0:31:21.360,0:31:24.559
and you know justifiably so it was a
0:31:23.919,0:31:27.279
very sad
0:31:24.559,0:31:28.799
chapter and oh in marvel cinematic
0:31:27.279,0:31:30.159
universe
0:31:28.799,0:31:32.720
so that was all we had for our
0:31:30.159,0:31:35.120
entertainment news of the week
0:31:32.720,0:31:37.750
we’ll be right back with our insightful
0:31:35.120,0:31:41.440
picks of the week
0:31:37.750,0:31:43.919
[Applause]
0:31:41.440,0:31:44.960
go for your insightful pick so my
0:31:43.919,0:31:48.880
insightful pick
0:31:44.960,0:31:52.240
of the week is um a documentary
0:31:48.880,0:31:54.640
that is on netflix called this is pop
0:31:52.240,0:31:56.720
so you get to uncover the real stories
0:31:54.640,0:32:00.080
behind your favorite pop songs
0:31:56.720,0:32:01.519
as this docu-series charts the impact of
0:32:00.080,0:32:04.720
the festival scene
0:32:01.519,0:32:08.799
auto tune boy bands and more
0:32:04.720,0:32:12.880
this was a really interesting variety
0:32:08.799,0:32:15.120
of a show it wasn’t really you know one
0:32:12.880,0:32:17.440
genre and you know it was basically all
0:32:15.120,0:32:20.720
pop and what made pop music
0:32:17.440,0:32:23.519
um and each episode
0:32:20.720,0:32:24.960
is done a little differently so it’s not
0:32:23.519,0:32:27.200
like the same
0:32:24.960,0:32:29.200
formula so it’s a little bit different
0:32:27.200,0:32:31.919
format it’s a different host
0:32:29.200,0:32:33.200
that they have that narrates it and does
0:32:31.919,0:32:35.840
it
0:32:33.200,0:32:37.360
but again it’s a wide variety so if it’s
0:32:35.840,0:32:38.720
something where hey i’m not really
0:32:37.360,0:32:39.760
interested in watching the country
0:32:38.720,0:32:41.600
episode
0:32:39.760,0:32:43.760
you can pass on the country episode and
0:32:41.600,0:32:45.679
you’re not going to miss anything
0:32:43.760,0:32:47.279
you know so each episode is kind of a
0:32:45.679,0:32:50.000
standalone in it
0:32:47.279,0:32:52.159
so the first one was the boys to men
0:32:50.000,0:32:52.880
effect and it talks about how the philly
0:32:52.159,0:32:56.640
sound
0:32:52.880,0:32:59.760
meets classic motown in the crossover
0:32:56.640,0:33:00.480
um that became boys to men and then the
0:32:59.760,0:33:03.679
string
0:33:00.480,0:33:05.519
of inspired boy bands that kind of came
0:33:03.679,0:33:07.760
in after that and it was interesting
0:33:05.519,0:33:10.000
because i remember when boyz
0:33:07.760,0:33:11.679
men came out and all the other bands
0:33:10.000,0:33:14.960
that came out after
0:33:11.679,0:33:17.760
but never realized how it all
0:33:14.960,0:33:19.600
kind of fit together um and then how
0:33:17.760,0:33:20.640
kind of boys to men got lost in the
0:33:19.600,0:33:23.440
shuffle
0:33:20.640,0:33:24.640
when all these other groups kind of came
0:33:23.440,0:33:27.200
to light
0:33:24.640,0:33:27.679
never really had the same success but
0:33:27.200,0:33:30.640
kind of
0:33:27.679,0:33:31.039
pushed boys to men you know out of the
0:33:30.640,0:33:33.919
way
0:33:31.039,0:33:35.760
and now all of those groups are all
0:33:33.919,0:33:38.880
having success
0:33:35.760,0:33:41.039
again as they come together
0:33:38.880,0:33:42.480
all in like the same concert they you
0:33:41.039,0:33:43.279
know they’re doing the these concerts
0:33:42.480,0:33:44.880
all together
0:33:43.279,0:33:46.960
uh then you know one of the other
0:33:44.880,0:33:47.519
episodes was talking about auto tune and
0:33:46.960,0:33:50.840
how
0:33:47.519,0:33:52.000
you know auto tune was uh trying to
0:33:50.840,0:33:54.640
enhance
0:33:52.000,0:33:55.519
the uh the music industry and how it
0:33:54.640,0:33:58.399
kind of actually
0:33:55.519,0:33:59.279
helped destroy some of the music
0:33:58.399,0:34:01.679
industry
0:33:59.279,0:34:02.480
um with you know some groups that i
0:34:01.679,0:34:04.240
didn’t even
0:34:02.480,0:34:05.919
you know know of because it was more of
0:34:04.240,0:34:07.679
like the rappers and things like that
0:34:05.919,0:34:11.280
but it was interesting again
0:34:07.679,0:34:13.200
to hear these backstories um the one
0:34:11.280,0:34:15.040
really interesting episode was the
0:34:13.200,0:34:16.399
stockholm syndrome and it talked about
0:34:15.040,0:34:20.560
how sweden
0:34:16.399,0:34:22.879
had become music’s stealth super power
0:34:20.560,0:34:25.440
and basically you know not only was it
0:34:22.879,0:34:29.280
with abba but ace of base
0:34:25.440,0:34:30.079
and um music and songwriter max martin
0:34:29.280,0:34:33.280
who
0:34:30.079,0:34:34.000
you might not know the name but you
0:34:33.280,0:34:36.000
definitely
0:34:34.000,0:34:37.280
you know anybody that listens to any
0:34:36.000,0:34:40.159
music from the 80s
0:34:37.280,0:34:41.040
90s or even now has heard a song that
0:34:40.159,0:34:43.679
he’s
0:34:41.040,0:34:44.960
you know written or produced um you know
0:34:43.679,0:34:48.079
and then of course they had
0:34:44.960,0:34:49.839
the country episode which
0:34:48.079,0:34:51.440
country’s not my cup of tea but it was
0:34:49.839,0:34:54.879
still an interesting
0:34:51.440,0:34:57.520
you know episode to to watch um
0:34:54.879,0:35:00.160
they also went across the pond and did
0:34:57.520,0:35:02.880
an episode about brick pop and how
0:35:00.160,0:35:04.720
um you know there was this rivalry with
0:35:02.880,0:35:06.400
these two bands that
0:35:04.720,0:35:08.160
you know i just kind of knew the songs i
0:35:06.400,0:35:09.040
didn’t know all this backstory because
0:35:08.160,0:35:11.760
all of it was
0:35:09.040,0:35:13.040
was happening over um in britain then
0:35:11.760,0:35:15.040
they talk about all the different
0:35:13.040,0:35:16.800
festivals you know so like woodstock was
0:35:15.040,0:35:19.200
kind of like the first
0:35:16.800,0:35:20.160
big one that happened and then how all
0:35:19.200,0:35:24.000
these you know
0:35:20.160,0:35:26.160
um lollapalooza and all these other uh
0:35:24.000,0:35:27.760
festivals kind of changed you know the
0:35:26.160,0:35:31.359
music scene as well
0:35:27.760,0:35:34.000
um then they kind of went a little
0:35:31.359,0:35:35.599
heavy hitting with the what a song can
0:35:34.000,0:35:38.800
do talking about the
0:35:35.599,0:35:40.720
the songs that help with protests and
0:35:38.800,0:35:42.880
and and different things like that and
0:35:40.720,0:35:44.720
even you know modern day
0:35:42.880,0:35:47.119
you know things that just happened in
0:35:44.720,0:35:50.480
you know the last couple of years
0:35:47.119,0:35:52.079
and the power of certain songs um
0:35:50.480,0:35:54.000
and then the final episode which was
0:35:52.079,0:35:55.040
kind of interesting was the brill
0:35:54.000,0:35:58.160
building
0:35:55.040,0:36:01.520
which this famous building in new york
0:35:58.160,0:36:04.720
that was kind of like the powerhouse of
0:36:01.520,0:36:07.920
all the songs from you know the late 50s
0:36:04.720,0:36:10.160
60s you know and 70s um
0:36:07.920,0:36:11.200
where it was just basically almost like
0:36:10.160,0:36:15.200
um
0:36:11.200,0:36:17.359
uh a a warehouse of writers
0:36:15.200,0:36:18.240
coming out with all these you know pop
0:36:17.359,0:36:21.440
songs
0:36:18.240,0:36:23.599
um and kind of you know the the history
0:36:21.440,0:36:25.680
behind that and where it came from so
0:36:23.599,0:36:27.200
really a very cool you know if you’re
0:36:25.680,0:36:30.480
into music at all
0:36:27.200,0:36:31.520
and again any genre just fascinating and
0:36:30.480,0:36:34.800
and they have
0:36:31.520,0:36:37.200
you know interviews with performers and
0:36:34.800,0:36:38.400
and writers and you know people from
0:36:37.200,0:36:40.880
behind the scenes that
0:36:38.400,0:36:41.440
you know never get in front of the
0:36:40.880,0:36:43.200
camera
0:36:41.440,0:36:45.839
to hear you know their story of how they
0:36:43.200,0:36:48.800
came to be so really really interesting
0:36:45.839,0:36:48.800
cool pick thank you
0:36:50.000,0:36:54.640
[Applause]
0:36:52.240,0:36:56.560
so my pick this week to no one’s
0:36:54.640,0:36:58.240
surprise is a documentary
0:36:56.560,0:36:59.920
it’s actually kind of a drama
0:36:58.240,0:37:02.560
documentary
0:36:59.920,0:37:04.800
it’s called across the pacific and no no
0:37:02.560,0:37:07.119
i’m not talking about the 1942 american
0:37:04.800,0:37:08.800
spy film starring humphrey bogart
0:37:07.119,0:37:11.119
although that is actually worth a watch
0:37:08.800,0:37:14.240
though oh okay we’ll add that
0:37:11.119,0:37:15.119
so uh this across the pacific is a
0:37:14.240,0:37:19.280
series about
0:37:15.119,0:37:21.359
the great aviation milestones uh in 1935
0:37:19.280,0:37:22.000
about crossing the pacific ocean by the
0:37:21.359,0:37:24.400
pan am
0:37:22.000,0:37:26.079
flying boat the china clipper the
0:37:24.400,0:37:26.960
documentary series recounts the
0:37:26.079,0:37:29.760
development
0:37:26.960,0:37:32.480
of this technological innovation led by
0:37:29.760,0:37:34.960
pan ams chief executive juan tripp
0:37:32.480,0:37:36.160
pilot charles lindbergh airplane
0:37:34.960,0:37:38.880
engineers
0:37:36.160,0:37:40.320
igor sikorsky and radio engineer hugo
0:37:38.880,0:37:44.079
luder
0:37:40.320,0:37:47.599
i’m i’m blanking on the name here let’s
0:37:44.079,0:37:49.680
not not ludacris that was part of the
0:37:47.599,0:37:52.240
music well yeah that’s that’s what i
0:37:49.680,0:37:54.880
keep seeing whenever i see that name
0:37:52.240,0:37:57.359
with dramatic reenactments interviews uh
0:37:54.880,0:37:59.920
with historians and biographers
0:37:57.359,0:38:01.119
and archival photographs news real clips
0:37:59.920,0:38:04.079
and film
0:38:01.119,0:38:04.960
it puts together this uh complete
0:38:04.079,0:38:08.480
package
0:38:04.960,0:38:11.200
uh with with the actor reenactments and
0:38:08.480,0:38:12.880
there was one uh show one documentary
0:38:11.200,0:38:15.359
that we used to watch
0:38:12.880,0:38:17.359
who uh when they would do actor
0:38:15.359,0:38:18.079
reenactments they would get actors that
0:38:17.359,0:38:20.720
looked
0:38:18.079,0:38:22.320
literally the least like the character
0:38:20.720,0:38:23.680
that they were playing
0:38:22.320,0:38:25.359
and they do the same thing in this one
0:38:23.680,0:38:26.560
so the character that plays lindbergh
0:38:25.359,0:38:29.119
for instance
0:38:26.560,0:38:31.119
looks nothing like lindbergh that is
0:38:29.119,0:38:33.119
like your biggest thing
0:38:31.119,0:38:34.640
when it comes to these shows is like get
0:38:33.119,0:38:37.760
somebody that looks like
0:38:34.640,0:38:38.320
him at least yeah like you know with cgi
0:38:37.760,0:38:40.720
and everything
0:38:38.320,0:38:42.800
they can probably do better so this
0:38:40.720,0:38:45.040
three episode mini series tells a
0:38:42.800,0:38:46.480
remarkably detailed story of one of the
0:38:45.040,0:38:49.920
more glamorous moments in
0:38:46.480,0:38:50.640
aviation history episode one titled
0:38:49.920,0:38:52.720
airborne
0:38:50.640,0:38:53.920
introduces the film’s four main
0:38:52.720,0:38:56.240
characters
0:38:53.920,0:38:57.040
you have as i said airline executive
0:38:56.240,0:39:00.160
juan tripp
0:38:57.040,0:39:02.480
charles lindbergh igor sikorski and
0:39:00.160,0:39:04.400
hugo ludacris i’m just gonna go with
0:39:02.480,0:39:06.640
that at this point sure why not
0:39:04.400,0:39:09.040
uh as they stru as they separately
0:39:06.640,0:39:09.839
struggle to find a place in post-world
0:39:09.040,0:39:12.560
war one
0:39:09.839,0:39:13.359
aviation their struggles illuminate the
0:39:12.560,0:39:15.520
challenges
0:39:13.359,0:39:16.720
all aviation pioneers face in these
0:39:15.520,0:39:20.079
early days
0:39:16.720,0:39:22.240
uncertainty after a repeated setbacks
0:39:20.079,0:39:24.880
the four men joined forces
0:39:22.240,0:39:27.400
and capitalizing on the air mail act and
0:39:24.880,0:39:30.960
the aviation mania triggered by
0:39:27.400,0:39:33.280
1927 trans transatlantic flight
0:39:30.960,0:39:34.400
set out to build an airline to south
0:39:33.280,0:39:38.079
america
0:39:34.400,0:39:41.520
that airline turns out to be pan am
0:39:38.079,0:39:44.000
episode 2 the latin laboratory
0:39:41.520,0:39:45.680
as they push southward trip sigorsky
0:39:44.000,0:39:48.560
lindberg and ludacris
0:39:45.680,0:39:50.400
build larger flying boats harness radios
0:39:48.560,0:39:51.680
and navigate safely across greater
0:39:50.400,0:39:53.839
distances
0:39:51.680,0:39:56.079
and with the help from the us government
0:39:53.839,0:39:59.280
outwit all competing airlines
0:39:56.079,0:40:01.760
to dominate service in latin america
0:39:59.280,0:40:03.040
and launch the global air tourism
0:40:01.760,0:40:05.200
industry
0:40:03.040,0:40:06.560
but all of this is merely preparation
0:40:05.200,0:40:10.079
for their ultimate goal
0:40:06.560,0:40:12.480
flying the oceans trips spends six years
0:40:10.079,0:40:14.079
carefully laying planes for atlantic and
0:40:12.480,0:40:16.480
atlantic crossing
0:40:14.079,0:40:18.240
only to have his hopes dashed when
0:40:16.480,0:40:21.280
britain refuses to let
0:40:18.240,0:40:21.839
pan am’s planes land because their own
0:40:21.280,0:40:25.040
plan
0:40:21.839,0:40:26.880
planes can’t make the ocean crossing
0:40:25.040,0:40:28.160
with two million dollars in new planes
0:40:26.880,0:40:31.599
on order trip
0:40:28.160,0:40:33.760
is stymied with no ocean to cross
0:40:31.599,0:40:35.280
and then finally in episode three
0:40:33.760,0:40:37.119
another ocean
0:40:35.280,0:40:39.359
with his path across the atlantic
0:40:37.119,0:40:42.240
blocked juan tripp surprises
0:40:39.359,0:40:43.760
even his own staff by turning to the
0:40:42.240,0:40:45.440
pacific
0:40:43.760,0:40:46.960
now you have to understand that
0:40:45.440,0:40:48.319
traveling across the atlantic and the
0:40:46.960,0:40:49.920
pacific are two
0:40:48.319,0:40:52.720
very different things because of the
0:40:49.920,0:40:53.680
distances involved so defying the
0:40:52.720,0:40:57.280
skeptics pan
0:40:53.680,0:40:59.359
am builds an airway to asia allowing its
0:40:57.280,0:41:00.480
airplanes to hopscotch across the
0:40:59.359,0:41:04.160
world’s widest
0:41:00.480,0:41:07.440
ocean by landing at five stepping stone
0:41:04.160,0:41:10.640
islands midway hawaii
0:41:07.440,0:41:13.760
wake island guam and the philippines
0:41:10.640,0:41:14.880
all of which become key points of
0:41:13.760,0:41:18.800
contention
0:41:14.880,0:41:19.440
during world war ii so hugo luderitz’s
0:41:18.800,0:41:22.000
radio
0:41:19.440,0:41:22.960
direction finders point the way igor
0:41:22.000,0:41:26.079
sikorski’s
0:41:22.960,0:41:26.960
latest flying boat the s42 pioneers the
0:41:26.079,0:41:28.640
route
0:41:26.960,0:41:30.560
before eventually giving way to the
0:41:28.640,0:41:33.599
martin m130 known
0:41:30.560,0:41:34.960
as the china clipper within two years
0:41:33.599,0:41:38.000
pan am is offering
0:41:34.960,0:41:39.359
regular passenger service to hong kong
0:41:38.000,0:41:42.800
connecting america
0:41:39.359,0:41:46.240
and the asian mainland air service from
0:41:42.800,0:41:48.319
new york to london begins in 1939
0:41:46.240,0:41:50.079
completing a chain of airways and
0:41:48.319,0:41:51.760
circling the globe
0:41:50.079,0:41:53.839
and what’s interesting is looking at
0:41:51.760,0:41:56.560
where air travel is today
0:41:53.839,0:41:58.319
and seeing the consolidation that we’ve
0:41:56.560,0:41:59.599
recently started going through with our
0:41:58.319,0:42:03.359
airlines
0:41:59.599,0:42:05.440
you know pan am doesn’t exist anymore um
0:42:03.359,0:42:07.359
you know air tran doesn’t exist so are
0:42:05.440,0:42:09.599
these all these
0:42:07.359,0:42:12.160
all these uh airlines that started out
0:42:09.599,0:42:15.920
can all trace their roots back to this
0:42:12.160,0:42:17.119
um you watch indiana jones indiana jones
0:42:15.920,0:42:19.040
flies on the clippers
0:42:17.119,0:42:20.160
right right so you see that in the films
0:42:19.040,0:42:23.760
they’re so they’re it’s so
0:42:20.160,0:42:25.920
iconic there’s so much history about it
0:42:23.760,0:42:27.680
and there’s so much technology that was
0:42:25.920,0:42:29.920
pioneered for this
0:42:27.680,0:42:31.440
and they depicted so well how they
0:42:29.920,0:42:35.200
advanced technology so
0:42:31.440,0:42:37.200
quickly to to accomplish really what
0:42:35.200,0:42:39.119
seemed impossible i mean you went from a
0:42:37.200,0:42:40.880
short period of time
0:42:39.119,0:42:43.200
where you’ve got lindbergh who can
0:42:40.880,0:42:44.880
barely limp one man a one-man plane
0:42:43.200,0:42:47.440
across the ocean
0:42:44.880,0:42:48.480
to now you’ve got an entire industry of
0:42:47.440,0:42:50.480
air travel
0:42:48.480,0:42:52.640
flying around the world it’s really it’s
0:42:50.480,0:42:55.760
it’s a very interesting
0:42:52.640,0:42:57.200
uh show to watch um it’s only three
0:42:55.760,0:43:00.160
episodes it’s available
0:42:57.200,0:43:01.359
on amazon prime and that’s across the
0:43:00.160,0:43:04.160
pacific
0:43:01.359,0:43:04.160
we’ll be right back
0:43:05.900,0:43:09.760
[Applause]
0:43:07.520,0:43:11.200
so we did have some afterthoughts sure
0:43:09.760,0:43:12.000
we got a lot of them so we got to get
0:43:11.200,0:43:15.280
through them real quick
0:43:12.000,0:43:17.520
right sure so first coming up uh july
0:43:15.280,0:43:21.580
17th and 18 at one of our
0:43:17.520,0:43:24.160
favorite locations is zolokon
0:43:21.580,0:43:26.960
[Laughter]
0:43:24.160,0:43:27.839
i know you do uh this one is in
0:43:26.960,0:43:31.280
warmenster
0:43:27.839,0:43:33.920
pennsylvania um zolocon.com
0:43:31.280,0:43:34.800
is their website for ticket information
0:43:33.920,0:43:38.079
and and
0:43:34.800,0:43:41.200
whatnot uh then we have monster mania
0:43:38.079,0:43:44.800
which will have three different events
0:43:41.200,0:43:47.839
uh this monster mania there we go
0:43:44.800,0:43:49.200
so uh august 13th through 15th will be
0:43:47.839,0:43:52.400
in cherry hill
0:43:49.200,0:43:56.599
september 24th through the 26th will be
0:43:52.400,0:43:58.160
hunt valley maryland and october 23rd in
0:43:56.599,0:44:01.000
2020
0:43:58.160,0:44:02.800
second to the 24th will be in oaks
0:44:01.000,0:44:06.880
pennsylvania
0:44:02.800,0:44:11.040
then coming in september will be
0:44:06.880,0:44:13.200
retro that is also going to be
0:44:11.040,0:44:14.160
in oaks pennsylvania and the dates for
0:44:13.200,0:44:16.720
that one
0:44:14.160,0:44:18.480
um we actually had them wrong last week
0:44:16.720,0:44:22.000
it’s actually the 25th
0:44:18.480,0:44:24.319
and the 26th of september
0:44:22.000,0:44:25.040
so close yet so far oh it was just a day
0:44:24.319,0:44:28.319
off
0:44:25.040,0:44:32.160
then in november is
0:44:28.319,0:44:33.920
wizard well uh pennsylvania which
0:44:32.160,0:44:35.200
this is the first year and i don’t know
0:44:33.920,0:44:38.160
how long that
0:44:35.200,0:44:39.440
it will not be at the pennsylvania
0:44:38.160,0:44:42.480
convention center
0:44:39.440,0:44:44.880
but the greater pennsylvania
0:44:42.480,0:44:45.839
greater philadelphia convention center
0:44:44.880,0:44:49.119
which is an even
0:44:45.839,0:44:52.160
greater its convention in
0:44:49.119,0:44:54.000
oaks pennsylvania so set that in your
0:44:52.160,0:44:55.280
gps and just don’t delete it because
0:44:54.000,0:44:57.520
you’re going to be going there a whole
0:44:55.280,0:45:00.720
lot if you’re from the area obviously
0:44:57.520,0:45:03.920
uh and then our final convention of
0:45:00.720,0:45:04.800
the year as of right now will be in
0:45:03.920,0:45:10.319
december
0:45:04.800,0:45:10.319
and is ocean city comic con
0:45:11.520,0:45:18.960
and that’s going to be december 11th um
0:45:15.440,0:45:22.319
in the uh roland e powell convention
0:45:18.960,0:45:23.280
center in ocean city maryland that’s it
0:45:22.319,0:45:26.800
right because i think
0:45:23.280,0:45:28.400
my voice is gone i think that’s it
0:45:26.800,0:45:30.400
i don’t think i can do anymore yeah i
0:45:28.400,0:45:32.319
don’t think you can either so yeah it’s
0:45:30.400,0:45:34.240
it’s nice to see
0:45:32.319,0:45:35.440
that the conventions are starting back
0:45:34.240,0:45:38.079
up again
0:45:35.440,0:45:39.599
that they’re kind of spaced out you know
0:45:38.079,0:45:42.640
normally convention
0:45:39.599,0:45:45.520
season is usually just
0:45:42.640,0:45:47.200
the summer usually well zolokon was
0:45:45.520,0:45:49.040
usually always in february
0:45:47.200,0:45:51.680
yeah because there was usually always
0:45:49.040,0:45:54.720
snow on the ground whenever we would go
0:45:51.680,0:45:56.319
and then you kind of have a dry spell of
0:45:54.720,0:45:59.359
a couple of months and then
0:45:56.319,0:46:02.400
you know uh wizards used to be in
0:45:59.359,0:46:03.839
june um you know and then you had a
0:46:02.400,0:46:06.240
couple and then it would kind of die off
0:46:03.839,0:46:08.560
so it’s kind of nice that it’s
0:46:06.240,0:46:10.160
kind of spread out a little bit gives
0:46:08.560,0:46:11.760
you something to look at i like this
0:46:10.160,0:46:12.960
because we always had like convention
0:46:11.760,0:46:15.119
season
0:46:12.960,0:46:16.079
and like after convention season there
0:46:15.119,0:46:18.960
was nothing
0:46:16.079,0:46:19.599
right right which it’s good and it’s bad
0:46:18.960,0:46:21.520
because
0:46:19.599,0:46:22.800
it’s good because the summer was very
0:46:21.520,0:46:24.720
expensive right
0:46:22.800,0:46:26.160
and now i can spread that cost out over
0:46:24.720,0:46:28.240
the course of you know
0:46:26.160,0:46:30.560
10 months right exactly makes it more
0:46:28.240,0:46:32.720
for i can finance convention season now
0:46:30.560,0:46:34.560
finance convention season that that
0:46:32.720,0:46:36.319
works out well yeah so we’ll you know
0:46:34.560,0:46:36.720
obviously we’ll we’ll keep an eye out
0:46:36.319,0:46:39.359
for
0:46:36.720,0:46:41.040
some of the other ones uh to see you
0:46:39.359,0:46:43.119
know because some of the dates
0:46:41.040,0:46:44.640
the other one you’re talking about what
0:46:43.119,0:46:48.720
other one the toy show
0:46:44.640,0:46:52.160
you just oh uh that one’s the
0:46:48.720,0:46:54.400
july what 25th i believe and that was
0:46:52.160,0:46:56.000
tom’s river okay so we have time to get
0:46:54.400,0:46:58.079
that in today right so we’ll be able
0:46:56.000,0:47:00.079
to get that one because that one one was
0:46:58.079,0:47:02.640
one that popped up because originally
0:47:00.079,0:47:03.520
the location was someplace further north
0:47:02.640,0:47:07.200
in jersey
0:47:03.520,0:47:09.440
right uh now it’s not as far north so
0:47:07.200,0:47:11.200
we might hit that one and a programming
0:47:09.440,0:47:14.800
note we will be taking a week
0:47:11.200,0:47:19.040
off uh what are we taking off not
0:47:14.800,0:47:23.040
next week the week week of the
0:47:19.040,0:47:26.160
14th 15th i believe so so 14th 15th we
0:47:23.040,0:47:27.920
won’t be doing a podcast that week we’re
0:47:26.160,0:47:29.200
slowing down that week and taking some
0:47:27.920,0:47:31.280
time to ourselves and
0:47:29.200,0:47:33.599
relaxing a bit right so that’s our
0:47:31.280,0:47:36.079
summer summer break there
0:47:33.599,0:47:37.359
um hopefully i’ll i’ll get to redo some
0:47:36.079,0:47:40.160
of the things in the
0:47:37.359,0:47:40.880
studio i gotta i gotta re-tile and
0:47:40.160,0:47:44.559
rewire
0:47:40.880,0:47:47.680
and rework my desk and
0:47:44.559,0:47:52.000
so your confidence in me is remarkable i
0:47:47.680,0:47:56.319
