This week we discuss the importance of teens having hobbies and activities to occupy their free time. We’ll look at an interesting study from the Department of Health and Human Services that details how teens spend their time throughout the day. We’ll look at some of the potential pitfalls of misspent free time by teens and we’ll talk about what productive downtime is and how it helps teens. We’ll also detail 10 significant benefits that teens gain through hobbies before finally taking a look at some of the hobbies and activities that Madison tends to enjoy.
In this third “Getting to Know You” episode we learn more about Madison through a series of questions, some of which we’ve never asked before and others are a status check on what’s changed since our last “Getting to Know You” podcast.
This session was inspired by some back to school questions Madison was answering this week. Her answers as with everything in the world today are colored by the current state of the COVID-19 crisis.
Surprising, despite the bleak outlook on the world today Madison is able to maintain a positive perspective on things. We asked a series of questions from habits and hobbies to family and friends and delve deeper into her personality. We learn a few things that even as her dad I wasn’t aware of. It was an eye opening and fun podcast this week. There are some great questions in this episode that I encourage other parents to engage their kids with, you might be pleasantly surprised at the answers you get.
In another of our question and answer series we talk about school, interests and activities. We’ll explore what aspects of school Madison enjoys the most, what classes she’s learning the most in, her favorite part of school and much more.
We’ll also talk about her hobbies, what video games she’s playing, her collecting hobbies, the music she likes to listen to and much more. We were joined this week by a viewer from Estonia who took advantage of the opportunity to pose some of their own questions in a unique two way conversation.
Joe and Madison delve into the subject of hobbies. What are teens into these days between technology, toys, social media, music and movies. They also take a look back at what some of the popular hobbies were thirty years ago and how they relate to teens today.
