Situations, emotions and hormones often combine in our teens to make them feel like a burden on those around them. We’ll explore why this happens, some of the things that can cause this and finally we’ll look at ways to help our teens combat this.

We’ll explore how we can turn jealousy into a constructive inspiration and grow from it as an individual. Then we’ll explore the common types of jealousy most teens might face. And finally we’ll talk about tips on how to deal with jealousy.
Insights Into Teens: Episode 67 “Balancing Emotions”
Teens face a deluge of emotions both positive and negative. Balancing those emotions and dealing with them can be a monumental challenge as they tackle all of the other issues associated with being a teenager.
This week we look at five different techniques to help you balance those emotions so you can deal with them, keep them in check and turn them into constructive aspects of your personality. We’ll look at how to ride the wave of emotions, discuss meditation and mindfulness techniques, explore how physical exercise can help, discuss the importance of sleep hygiene and look at how creative and being in the “flow” can improve focus.
All of the techniques we’ll talk about this week not only help to balance your emotions but have both psychological and physical benefits to them. Instead of resorting to medications to combat some of the more common issues in teens learning to balance your emotions can have the same lasting effects.
Insights Into Teens: Episode 61 “Artistic Expression”
This week we highlight the artistic talents of our co-host Madison. We’ll take a look at several outlets for artistic expression that she enjoys from music to writing and illustration to creative construction. We’ve got a few pre-recorded segments that will allow us to showcase Madison’s musical talents on the Trumpet and some spoken word versions of her creative writing exploits.
We also took the time to digitize a selection of her artwork. We’ll get a chance to look at how her artistic styles and skills advance from basic custom comics through her own character generation and the evolution of her own unique art style.
Finally we’ll look at her creative construction expression through her custom lego creations. We’ll take a walk through her unique apartment complex that allowed her to expand beyond just doing instruction based Lego builds to something a bit more complicated and creative.

Insights Into Teens: Episode 24 “Coping with Traumatic Stress”
In a very emotional episode today we discuss the challenges of coping with Traumatic Stress. We look at what Traumatic Stress is, some of the common causes of it and how to cope with the physical and psychological effects that Traumatic Events can have on us. During our discussion we analyze some traumatic events that both Madison and Joe experienced, the long term effects it had on us and how even to this day we are still coping with those effects.
Insights into Teens: Episode 6 “Left Handers”
This week we explore what it’s like to be left handed. What are some of the challenges faced by left handed people. We discuss some interesting studies that delve into common characteristics share by left handed people. We’ll also explore other famous historical people who were left handed.
