Insights Into Entertainment: Episode 46 “Greasing the Lines at Disney”

In this holiday themed episode we take a look at the experimental new ride queuing system Disney is using to manage crowds with the new Rise of the Resistance ride at Galaxy’s Edge in Orlando Florida. We also talk about Bob Iger’s olive branch to Martin Scorsese regarding the on going tumult surrounding the famed directors opinion of Disney’s superhero movies. We’ll then look at a heart warming story of a fan’s gift to Olivia Newton-John and we’ll talk a bit about the much anticipated return of season 4 of The Expanse on Amazon Prime Video before winding down with a few holiday themed Insightful Picks of the Week and a very special holiday project our hosts have been working on for a few weeks as a present to all of our loyal audience.

This week we pay tribute to Disney’s Haunted Mansion and it’s 50th birthday celebration. We’ll talk about some bundling deals with Disney+ and the future of media as Disney see’s it before we talk about the Disney earnings reports. We’ll discuss how the incompetent CEO of Disney Bob Iger is quick to justify is grotesquely generous salary by claiming credit for Disney successes he’s had little involvement with but is equally quick to point the finger at others when success doesn’t come as expected. In entertainment news we’ll talk about yet another copyright case, a new show by some of our favorite British actors and the Boss puts on an impromptu show at a movie premier. We look at some recently released details for Disney’s new streaming media service. Then we’ll talk about the partnership Disney and Spotify are engaged in. We’ll take a moment to give Disney credit for honoring an american armed forces hero before we take a look at the latest teaser trailer for the new live action Mulan.
