- Disney has shared a new behind-the-scenes look at creating the new animated scene based on Disney and Pixar’s ‘Coco’ that is coming to Mickey’s PhilharMagic this year at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
- Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald explains some of the process that went into creating the first new scene for the 3D show in almost 20 years.
- The musical number ‘Un Poco Loco’ will anchor the new scene when it opens to guests at Disney California Adventure park and Disneyland Paris on July 17, before being added to Magic Kingdom Park later this year during the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration.
- According to Disney, this will be the first time Disney and Pixar animators have worked on a creative endeavor where characters from both animation studios will be seen together on screen.
- The film’s original composer, Germaine Franco, has produced a unique ‘Coco’ score for the new scene in Mickey’s PhilharMagic.
- No scenes are being removed to make way for Coco, with the new sequence being an addition to the show.

- When it comes to decorating your home with top-notch Disney merchandise, fans go all out when sporting their favorite memorabilia in their homes.
- However, it’s a whole other ballgame when transforming your house into a popular Disney attraction, especially the Haunted Mansion.
- One Airbnb owner has converted his rentable home into the Haunted Mansion like no other fan, and it’s a short drive from Disneyland.
- A massive Disney Parks fan, Jeffery, has converted his Orange County, California, four-bedroom, two-bath home into a perfect recreation of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion.
- In the past, we’ve seen Disney fans materialize the 999 happy haunts in one or two of their rooms, but what Jeff has done is next level.
- The official page of this Haunted Mansion-inspired Airbnb states:
- Leave the world of the living behind and cross over (at least for a few nights) to this ghoulishly delightful Haunted Mansion inspired and frightfully immersive retreat.
- You and your…loved ones, will encounter a plethora of Haunted Mansion replicas, ghostly illusions, and sights and sounds that will make you feel that you are truly spending the night in Disney’s Haunted Mansion.
- Rather than taking inspiration from the Haunted Mansion located at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort, or at Tokyo Disneyland this talented Airbnb host somehow transplanted every detail from the famous Disney attractions into his home.
- Enter into a doom buggy as a foolish mortal and become a hitchhiking ghost as you wander the endless hallway and discover the story of the ghostly residents of the Haunted Mansion ride at this Airbnb.
- Everything from the famous wallpaper draping the hallways to the breathing doors’ impressive craftsmanship being present on some of the bedroom doors really makes this “creepy manor” a Disney Park fan’s dream.
- Jeffery continues:
- While staying at our humble abode you may experience strange and frightening sounds echoing in the halls while you sleep.
- But don’t worry, that is merely a sign that ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight!
- This interactive haunted dwelling does contain light hearted elements of illusion, sights, and sounds that occur throughout your entire stay.
- These elements yet fun and part of the experience are able to be turned off remotely at any time upon request by the homeowner.
- This Haunted Mansion-inspired ghostly retreat features over 50 accommodations, including free WiFi, washer and dryer, free parking, a full kitchen, air conditioning, an outdoor fireplace, pet-graveyard front lawn, and an impressive backyard that’s used for screening movies (the Haunted Mansion movie?) and telling spooky stories after a long day at Disneyland.
- This Ghostly Retreat features four spooky bedrooms:
- Master Gracey Room- One Cal King Bed
- Madame Leota Room – One Queen Bed
- Hatbox Ghost Room – One Queen Bed
- The Raven Room – Two twin beds
- This Ghostly Retreat features four spooky bedrooms:
- Jeff continues, “Enter into the game room chamber with no windows and no doors.” Taking a seat in the middle of the Stretching Room-inspired game room, you and your guests can enjoy the commodities of TV while the stretching portraits spy on your Uno cards!
- On top of that, you and your ghostly guests can enjoy the private hot tub located in the backyard while you watch your favorite Disney movie outside.
- The ghostly retreat can sleep up to eight guests in the Master Gracey Suite, Leota’s Chamber, Hatbox Ghost Quarters, Raven’s Realm located in the portrait hallway. Including in the latter named room is an actual raven animatronic that looks identical to the three ravens you see throughout the Haunted Mansion attraction.
- No need for a FastPass to book this impressive Airbnb. At the moment, nightly rates are $572/night, but splitting these nightly costs among five or six people means you can rest in peace in this happy haunted home for under $100.
- While that might seem a lot, this Airbnb boasts boatloads more of interactive theming and special effects in your resting areas than any Disney hotel or resort. Since you’re the most important guest retreating in this ghostly retreat, you get to be the star of your own spooky show.
- When it comes to decorating your home with top-notch Disney merchandise, fans go all out when sporting their favorite memorabilia in their homes.

[SEGMENT 2: Tales from the Edge of the Galaxy] (8-12 minutes)
- Mark Hamill says he’s secretly been in every Star Wars movie since 2015
- https://www.avclub.com/mark-hamill-says-hes-secretly-been-in-every-star-wars-m-1847343136?fbclid=IwAR29bY_H8h8S3SCgCB-i8KmtwsYJ-iIx_-McBpwtUke-x-uQSk7K3W2ZXfQ

- Everybody knows that Mark Hamill is in Star Wars, unless you only know him from the credits of Batman: The Animated Series and have just had your mind blown, but did you know that he’s also in a lot of Star Wars movies?
- Like, almost all of them?
- Okay, yeah, you probably knew that as well, but we’re not talking about Luke Skywalker.
- We’re talking about an untold number of droids and aliens and other puppets who shared the distinct pleasure of having Mark Hamill’s voice come out of their mouth holes.
- This reveal was prompted by a tweet from venerable Star Wars nerd archive Wookieepedia, which noted last week that Hamill had provided the voice of Mandalorian bartender droid EV-9D9.
- Hamill responded by saying that he actually had “multiple secret voice cameos in every Star Wars movie released since 2015″—which covers all of the Disney movies, even the ones Luke Skywalker is not in.
- Disney and Disney-owned studios have a pattern of selecting voice actors who are a good luck charm and putting them in every movie, be it Alan Tudyk for Disney Animation or John Ratzenberger for Pixar, so it seems like Mark Hamill has become the Lucasfilm version of that (assuming he shows up in other live-action shows or in that new Indiana Jones movie).
- So who are these secret characters?
- Wookieepedia knows about a couple of named aliens in the sequel movies, but those definitely aren’t secret, and the page says nothing about Hamill being in Solo or Rogue One.
- Obviously, then, somebody needs to sit down and watch all of the Disney-era Star Wars movies, even whichever one or ones they don’t like, and listen close to pick out which characters talk like Mark Hamill, or which characters make little guttural noises like Mark Hamill… then again, his Luke Skywalker voice is completely different from his Joker voice, so there’s a good chance you could hear him and not know it.
- Hamill offered a hint of sorts a while back, explaining that any Star Wars character played by Patrick Williams is actually him, but it seems like he’s usually just mentioned in the credits without saying who he plays.
- The actual only solution, then, is to just assume that every voice in Star Wars, unless it’s in the credits as someone else (and not this fake someone else), is secretly Mark Hamill.
- Everybody knows that Mark Hamill is in Star Wars, unless you only know him from the credits of Batman: The Animated Series and have just had your mind blown, but did you know that he’s also in a lot of Star Wars movies?

- Although The Mandalorian season 3 has yet to confirm a release date, a new Comic-Con poster teases what’s in store for Grogu and Luke Skywalker.
- An officially licensed poster based on The Mandalorian has been released that depicts Luke Skywalker and Grogu building a lightsaber.
- The Mandalorian season 2 concluded at the end of last year, bringing an end to a season filled to the brim with cameos and Easter eggs for Star Wars fans.
- While the studio has yet to confirm a concrete release date for the show’s third season, there are reports The Mandalorian season 3 is currently filming.
- In an action-packed finale, the last few minutes of The Mandalorian season 2 see the titular Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) handing off his infant companion Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda) to Luke Skywalker (Max Lloyd-Jones and Mark Hamill) to be trained in the ways of the Force.
- Fans were elated to see a young Luke Skywalker in action once again, excited by the implications that a Skywalker-trained Grogu presents for Star Wars lore.
- While the future of the child’s story is still up in the air, a newly released promotional poster offers an idea of what Grogu may be up to with Master Skywalker.
- Shop Trends recently unveiled a Comic-Con@Home exclusive wall poster that depicts Luke and Grogu constructing what appears to be a lightsaber.
- Grogu levitates a pile of cylindrical mechanical parts while Luke, dressed in a light Jedi robe, presents a glowing kyber crystal.
- The season 2 finale of The Mandalorian caused quite a stir in the Star Wars fandom thanks to its depiction of a young Luke Skywalker in his prime.
- Luke’s cameo was only possible thanks to Disney’s patented de-aging technology, which has now seen use across several of their franchises including Tron, the MCU, and Star Wars.
- Previously, the extent of Mark Hamill’s involvement with the show’s depiction of Luke was unknown; however, an upcoming behind-the-scenes special will finally reveal what specific contributions Hamill made to this iteration of Luke Skywalker – based off of teases from Lucasfilm, Hamill’s role was supposedly more involved than just being a mere consultant.
- It’s exciting to catch a glimpse of what’s in store for little Grogu, even if the medium it’s presented in isn’t exactly canon.
- Fans have been anxious to learn about the infant’s ultimate fate, especially due to the fact that the sequel trilogy revealed that Luke’s academy was razed by Kylo Ren.
- Hopefully, the The Mandalorian season 3 will touch on the sorts of Jedi hijinks that Grogu will get into with his new master.

- After nearly a decade, Frank Darabont’s Walking Dead lawsuit has ended in a $200 million settlement
- https://www.avclub.com/after-nearly-a-decade-frank-darabonts-walking-dead-law-1847315881?fbclid=IwAR25b8hGSs5z9OFbSiwezmUEONBKiEfMM54dwVPj4itXRNbgdbDELaRVPAA
- https://bit.ly/3l6Z9Pq
- It may be difficult to remember at this point, but there was a time when AMC’s The Walking Dead was a really good show—specifically during the majority of its first season.
- It wasn’t surprisingly good, it wasn’t better than it had any right to be, it was just legitimately good.
- It was also, apparently, extremely expensive and difficult to make in that first season, which led to a split between AMC and original showrunner Frank Darabont.
- The network fired Darabont ahead of The Walking Dead’s second season, and then he sued AMC for allegedly forcing him off of the show and for refusing to pay him what he thought was his share of the show’s profits (with the profits growing and growing as the show became a massive hit that was also sometimes stupid and bad).
- One of the core issues of the case was that The Walking Dead was AMC’s first wholly owned original series, as it both produced and distributed the show, and while this is kind of an Industry Insider thing, the results of this suit could’ve had all sorts of huge implications for how profit sharing works in this world where it’s increasingly common for networks/streaming platforms both produce and distribute their own content.
- But what does that mean?
- Well, we’ve got good news: It doesn’t matter.
- As is often the case with Hollywood lawsuits that could’ve had huge implications if they had gone to court (like the Conjuring lawsuit that hinged on whether or not ghosts are real), this one has been settled—which means, unfortunately, we’re not going to find out how this would’ve impacted profit sharing, which means, unfortunately, we’re not going to have to read up on vertical integration in show business.
- We may be smiling, but trust us, we’re disappointed.
- Anyway, The Hollywood Reporter says that AMC and Darabont have agreed to a settlement that involves Darabont and his representatives at CAA getting nearly $200 million in exchange for calling off the suit and giving up “most of their rights” to anything related to The Walking Dead.
- That means… basically nothing for those of us who are not Frank Darabont or employees of CAA, but there has always been something grimly fascinating about the lawsuit given Darabont’s insistence that everyone who worked on the show other than him was either lazy or incompetent, as displayed in a series of “f you” emails that Darabont sent to people during his time on The Walking Dead—which backs up any justifications AMC might’ve had for firing him.
- Then again, the show was really good in season one when Darabont was there, so maybe he was right that nobody was pulling their weight like he was?
- On top of all of this we have the fact that AMC original attorney on this was a man named Marc Kasowitz, who (before being fired) complained about Darabont’s expletive-filled emails despite the fact that he famously sent some expletive-filled emails of his own on behalf of his only other client, a terrible politician/terrible real estate mogul/terrible human being who will go unnamed here.
- This has all been a wild journey, and now it has come to an end… except Darabont still has ongoing lawsuits with some other Walking Dead folks, like creator Robert Kirkman, and that won’t be going to trial until later this year (unless it also gets settled).
- So, much like The Walking Dead, Darabont’s lawsuits will just keep shambling on.
- It may be difficult to remember at this point, but there was a time when AMC’s The Walking Dead was a really good show—specifically during the majority of its first season.
- Why Loki Didn’t Use The Mandalorian’s Advanced VFX Technology
- https://screenrant.com/loki-show-mandalorian-special-effects-technology-volume/?fbclid=IwAR02Tmwg9Knts9Wjjmj7GWNVt-DZzsYSk7jNW9m__i4wpg8sVL4YehQYm3Y

- Loki’s production designer Kasra Farahani reveals why the show didn’t use the advanced VFX technology dubbed “The Volume” innovated by another Disney+ series, The Mandalorian .
- The MCU’s third series follows Tom Hiddleston’s mercurial villain after he messes with the Sacred Timeline by stealing the Tesseract during the Avengers’ time heist in 2012.
- After being apprehended by the TVA, Loki’s solo series finds him forging a bond with Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and setting off on a time-traveling adventure in which he encounters multiple variants of himself, including Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino).
- Unlike Marvel Studios’ two previous shows, WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki has jumped around various points in both space and time.
- Episode 3 finds Loki and Sylvie on the doomed moon of Lamentis-1 in the year 2077.
- Last week’s episode, “Journey into Mystery,” finds the duo at the end of time, a purgatory-like place called the Void.
- There, they battle a massive cloud-like creature called Alioth before heading to a citadel that lies beyond.
- Case in point, the show is replete with numerous fantastical and sci-fi elements, which require copious amounts of set design and special effects work.
- Because of its sci-fi setting, many assumed Loki would utilize The Volume just like its Disney+ counterpart The Mandalorian, which actually innovated the technology and uses it to film almost the entirety of the series.
- However, Loki’s production designer Farahani and his team decided not to use the cutting-edge technology for the Marvel series because it didn’t coordinate with their goals.
- According to Comicbook.com, Farahani says it “just wasn’t creatively super-relevant” for Loki.
- The Volume, also referred to as StageCraft LED services, is essentially a 360-degree virtual set within an indoor soundstage popularized by The Mandalorian.
- Created by the VFX company Industrial Light & Magic, the technology’s combination of ultra-high res graphics and massive LED screens allow filmmakers to instantly change backdrops at the press of a button.
- The technology has not only created hyper-realistic scenery on screen but has also allowed actors to become more immersed on set.
- Instead of using The Volume, Loki opted for more traditional practical sets, which require production designers and crew to physically create the sets, oftentimes within a studio.
- To date, ILM has built four of these virtual sets around the world. While Loki opted not to use any of them, one was actually built at the Disney-owned Fox Studios in Australia to be used for another Marvel production, Thor: Love & Thunder.
- Even though Loki didn’t utilize the technology, that’s not to say the special effects in the series are lacking.
- Marvel has clearly spent a lot of time and money on the reality-bending series’ special effects, so while The Volume could have amplified the visuals, it may have not been necessary.
- Loki’s production designer Kasra Farahani reveals why the show didn’t use the advanced VFX technology dubbed “The Volume” innovated by another Disney+ series, The Mandalorian .

- Black Widow – Disney+
- https://www.disneyplus.com/movies/black-widow/3VfTap90rwZC

- In Marvel Studio’s action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
- The first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe it was lackluster at best
- Suffering from the fact that you know the ultimate outcome of the character, which is alluded to at the end of the movie it was difficult to get invested in the movie as anything significant to the MCU
- Other MCU’s were chocked full of cameos of other familiar faces but were severely lacking in this movie
- Most of the backstory we do get is done in flashbacks and references much like all other backstory we’ve seen on this character so it didn’t seem particularly revealing
- All in all it was not the worst MCU movie, but I feel this story could have easily been told better over a 6-8 episode arc on Disney+ like the other MCU’s shows we’ve seen.
- At least then we could have had more time to explore the characters and experience some real backstory.
- In the end the just felt like a final farewell to the character which kind of cheapened the tear jerker farewell she had in End game
- On the plus side we finally get to know what happened in Budapest, which was nice.
- Thankfully I didn’t invest the money to see this in the theater.

0:01:38.720,0:01:43.520
notice we have a couple of
0:01:40.479,0:01:44.960
uh slightly changed camera angles we
0:01:43.520,0:01:46.399
moved our cameras around a bit because
0:01:44.960,0:01:48.960
they were a little low
0:01:46.399,0:01:49.759
uh did a little bit of rewiring i did
0:01:48.960,0:01:54.960
want to do
0:01:49.759,0:01:54.960
some changing some uh re
0:01:58.880,0:02:01.920
uh that’s probably something we’ll do in
0:02:00.799,0:02:04.719
a
0:02:01.920,0:02:06.240
december break or a winter break because
0:02:04.719,0:02:08.000
it was a little too worn to be working
0:02:06.240,0:02:10.000
in here for too long right yeah
0:02:08.000,0:02:11.039
yeah once i got all the wiring done you
0:02:10.000,0:02:14.000
were like nope
0:02:11.039,0:02:15.120
i am done but we did take a couple of
0:02:14.000,0:02:18.160
weeks off we are
0:02:15.120,0:02:21.280
back we have lots of uh
0:02:18.160,0:02:23.520
news to talk about uh in our
0:02:21.280,0:02:26.239
disney detective today we’re going to
0:02:23.520,0:02:29.360
talk about imagineer tom fitzgerald
0:02:26.239,0:02:32.319
going behind the scenes on making the
0:02:29.360,0:02:34.480
new coco scene for mickey’s philharmagic
0:02:32.319,0:02:35.599
and did you ever want to spend the night
0:02:34.480,0:02:39.040
in the haunted mansion
0:02:35.599,0:02:40.560
nope never never no i won’t no
0:02:39.040,0:02:42.879
we’re going to tell you how to make it
0:02:40.560,0:02:46.000
happen just come to our house no
0:02:42.879,0:02:47.280
exactly then in our tales from the edge
0:02:46.000,0:02:50.000
of the galaxy
0:02:47.280,0:02:51.280
mark hamill says he’s secretly been in
0:02:50.000,0:02:54.879
every star wars movie
0:02:51.280,0:02:56.400
since 2015 and grogo and luke build a
0:02:54.879,0:03:00.000
lightsaber
0:02:56.400,0:03:02.959
at disney when they go to
0:03:00.000,0:03:02.959
galaxies
0:03:03.670,0:03:06.879
[Music]
0:03:04.430,0:03:09.920
[Laughter]
0:03:06.879,0:03:12.159
yeah well and in our entertainment news
0:03:09.920,0:03:13.360
a decades-old walking dead lawsuit has
0:03:12.159,0:03:16.319
ended in a settlement
0:03:13.360,0:03:18.159
big shocker there yeah but has it really
0:03:16.319,0:03:21.519
ended though
0:03:18.159,0:03:23.360
plus why didn’t loki use the void
0:03:21.519,0:03:24.640
popularized by the mandalorians
0:03:23.360,0:03:27.599
production crew
0:03:24.640,0:03:28.000
to do their production interesting story
0:03:27.599,0:03:29.840
there
0:03:28.000,0:03:31.280
yep then we’ll finish up with our
0:03:29.840,0:03:34.560
insightful picks of the week
0:03:31.280,0:03:36.400
and some afterthoughts but before we do
0:03:34.560,0:03:38.080
that i would invite our listeners and

0:04:04.879,0:04:06.959

but

0:04:40.560,0:04:45.440
ready to get started sure all right here
0:04:43.040,0:04:45.440
we go
0:04:50.560,0:04:53.840
that’s the wrong camera angle by the way
0:04:52.400,0:04:59.520
oh i’m a little out of practice
0:04:53.840,0:05:02.240
[Laughter]
0:04:59.520,0:05:04.320
it’s okay um so this was an interesting
0:05:02.240,0:05:07.520
little story that was popping up
0:05:04.320,0:05:09.039
um most of most of uh last week was
0:05:07.520,0:05:12.320
talking about how
0:05:09.039,0:05:15.759
um they are adding a new scene
0:05:12.320,0:05:18.639
to the mickey’s philharmagic attraction
0:05:15.759,0:05:20.000
at the disney parks so disney has shared
0:05:18.639,0:05:22.800
a new behind the scenes
0:05:20.000,0:05:25.280
look at creating the new animated scene
0:05:22.800,0:05:27.280
based on disney and pixar’s coco
0:05:25.280,0:05:30.720
that is coming to mickey’s fill her
0:05:27.280,0:05:33.120
magic this year at walt disney world’s
0:05:30.720,0:05:34.160
magic kingdom so imagineer tom
0:05:33.120,0:05:36.240
fitzgerald
0:05:34.160,0:05:39.199
uh explained some of the process that
0:05:36.240,0:05:40.639
went into creating the first new scene
0:05:39.199,0:05:44.160
for the 3d show
0:05:40.639,0:05:47.759
in almost 20 years the musical number
0:05:44.160,0:05:49.199
un poco loco will anchor the new scene
0:05:47.759,0:05:52.320
when it opens to guests
0:05:49.199,0:05:56.160
at disney’s california adventure park
0:05:52.320,0:05:59.600
and disneyland paris on july 17th
0:05:56.160,0:06:01.759
before being added to magic kingdom park
0:05:59.600,0:06:04.720
later this year during walt disney
0:06:01.759,0:06:07.120
world’s 50th anniversary celebration
0:06:04.720,0:06:09.680
so according to disney this is the first
0:06:07.120,0:06:11.440
time that disney and pixar animators
0:06:09.680,0:06:12.720
have actually worked together on a
0:06:11.440,0:06:15.120
creative endeavor
0:06:12.720,0:06:15.919
where characters from both animated
0:06:15.120,0:06:19.360
studios
0:06:15.919,0:06:22.000
will actually be seen together on screen
0:06:19.360,0:06:23.360
the film’s original composer jermaine
0:06:22.000,0:06:26.400
franco
0:06:23.360,0:06:27.360
has produced a unique cocoa score for
0:06:26.400,0:06:30.639
the new scene
0:06:27.360,0:06:32.800
in mickey’s fill her magic now don’t
0:06:30.639,0:06:34.880
don’t get upset no scenes will actually
0:06:32.800,0:06:36.880
be cut to make room
0:06:34.880,0:06:38.560
for the new scene they’re actually just
0:06:36.880,0:06:40.880
adding it on
0:06:38.560,0:06:41.840
in addition to the other scenes from the
0:06:40.880,0:06:43.840
movie
0:06:41.840,0:06:45.600
so this is kind of cool that they’re
0:06:43.840,0:06:47.759
doing this
0:06:45.600,0:06:49.199
and a couple big things one the first
0:06:47.759,0:06:50.240
time you’re seeing disney and pixar
0:06:49.199,0:06:52.400
characters together
0:06:50.240,0:06:53.520
right because donald duck is going to be
0:06:52.400,0:06:55.599
interacting
0:06:53.520,0:06:56.720
right with the characters from other
0:06:55.599,0:06:59.039
obviously
0:06:56.720,0:07:00.560
different animation styles how do you
0:06:59.039,0:07:05.120
think that’s going to blend together
0:07:00.560,0:07:08.800
well well if you remember from watching
0:07:05.120,0:07:11.840
mickey’s philharmagic it’s done in
0:07:08.800,0:07:15.440
the computer generated version so they
0:07:11.840,0:07:16.880
upgrade all of the older disney classics
0:07:15.440,0:07:20.639
that are part of it
0:07:16.880,0:07:24.240
into the more um
0:07:20.639,0:07:27.199
uh computer generated
0:07:24.240,0:07:29.039
version of things so sorry the rain
0:07:27.199,0:07:31.120
comes like
0:07:29.039,0:07:33.360
what is that it’s rain and our
0:07:31.120,0:07:36.800
daughter’s at band camp
0:07:33.360,0:07:40.319
awesome this is going to be fun anyway
0:07:36.800,0:07:41.440
so so that’s what’s nice about it is
0:07:40.319,0:07:45.759
that they don’t
0:07:41.440,0:07:47.919
take um you know like aladdin
0:07:45.759,0:07:49.599
the original aladdin and take this
0:07:47.919,0:07:51.680
computer generated version
0:07:49.599,0:07:52.800
of donald duck and try and put it
0:07:51.680,0:07:55.759
together they
0:07:52.800,0:07:56.560
upgraded when they started making phil
0:07:55.759,0:07:59.680
armand
0:07:56.560,0:08:00.560
right there they redid a lot of it so it
0:07:59.680,0:08:03.599
matches so
0:08:00.560,0:08:06.240
i’m sure it’s probably gonna you know
0:08:03.599,0:08:10.720
look like donald should have been
0:08:06.240,0:08:13.360
in coco right making sure that’s not her
0:08:10.720,0:08:14.800
just making okay we gotta go pick up our
0:08:13.360,0:08:17.120
kid
0:08:14.800,0:08:18.800
um so so they’re adding it on they’re
0:08:17.120,0:08:20.080
not shortening right and that’s what’s
0:08:18.800,0:08:22.319
kind of nice too
0:08:20.080,0:08:24.400
nope that wasn’t her um so that’s what’s
0:08:22.319,0:08:25.840
kind of nice too because there are some
0:08:24.400,0:08:29.440
times
0:08:25.840,0:08:32.880
uh when they do sort of updates um
0:08:29.440,0:08:34.159
like to um not fill her magic to
0:08:32.880,0:08:36.560
because filler magic is what we’re
0:08:34.159,0:08:39.200
talking about to fantasmic
0:08:36.560,0:08:41.200
when they had the original version of
0:08:39.200,0:08:44.240
fantasmic and then they did
0:08:41.200,0:08:47.680
the the newer version
0:08:44.240,0:08:50.320
for florida they changed
0:08:47.680,0:08:52.320
certain scenes so you know so if you
0:08:50.320,0:08:53.600
wanted a completely different venue too
0:08:52.320,0:08:55.360
right it’s done in a completely
0:08:53.600,0:08:57.920
different venue but you have you know
0:08:55.360,0:09:00.800
pocahontas is kind of the main
0:08:57.920,0:09:01.440
theme of one and peter pan is kind of
0:09:00.800,0:09:03.680
the main
0:09:01.440,0:09:05.839
theme of the other so they didn’t add it
0:09:03.680,0:09:06.480
they just changed it so again a lot of
0:09:05.839,0:09:09.040
times
0:09:06.480,0:09:10.160
when they do these modifications they
0:09:09.040,0:09:12.080
sometimes
0:09:10.160,0:09:13.760
take something out to put something in
0:09:12.080,0:09:15.519
same thing with parades that
0:09:13.760,0:09:17.519
you know when they update they don’t
0:09:15.519,0:09:20.480
make it longer they take something out
0:09:17.519,0:09:22.560
so this was kind of nice that they left
0:09:20.480,0:09:24.320
it the same so now if you go
0:09:22.560,0:09:26.160
you’re not looking to see what they took
0:09:24.320,0:09:28.800
away you’re getting that
0:09:26.160,0:09:30.080
added something at the end so no
0:09:28.800,0:09:33.360
mickey’s phil her magic
0:09:30.080,0:09:35.519
is a 4d movie are they incorporating 4d
0:09:33.360,0:09:37.519
elements into this segment do you know i
0:09:35.519,0:09:37.760
didn’t hear anything so that’ll be kind
0:09:37.519,0:09:40.160
of
0:09:37.760,0:09:41.760
a surprise that would be interesting you
0:09:40.160,0:09:42.800
know and now they’re doing this at
0:09:41.760,0:09:45.279
disneyland
0:09:42.800,0:09:46.720
first right so they were doing it at
0:09:45.279,0:09:48.720
disneyland
0:09:46.720,0:09:51.440
uh well actually disney’s california
0:09:48.720,0:09:52.720
adventure park and then disneyland paris
0:09:51.440,0:09:56.560
so it’ll actually
0:09:52.720,0:09:59.440
start there july 17th so it already
0:09:56.560,0:10:00.480
passed i guess because it’s it’s 20th
0:09:59.440,0:10:03.600
july 17th
0:10:00.480,0:10:04.800
i don’t know i don’t know what day it is
0:10:03.600,0:10:06.640
you know that’s what happens when you’re
0:10:04.800,0:10:07.600
on a vacation you kind of lose all sense
0:10:06.640,0:10:10.560
of
0:10:07.600,0:10:11.600
time and space um but that it’ll be
0:10:10.560,0:10:14.240
coming to
0:10:11.600,0:10:14.640
the magic kingdom in florida later on
0:10:14.240,0:10:17.839
for
0:10:14.640,0:10:19.040
the 50th anniversary cool tell us about
0:10:17.839,0:10:21.519
how we can stay
0:10:19.040,0:10:23.200
a night at the haunted mansion so this
0:10:21.519,0:10:26.320
was a cool
0:10:23.200,0:10:28.000
article that again was popping up in in
0:10:26.320,0:10:30.079
various different spots
0:10:28.000,0:10:31.920
so of course when it comes to decorating
0:10:30.079,0:10:32.800
your home with top-notch disney
0:10:31.920,0:10:35.120
merchandise
0:10:32.800,0:10:37.600
fans go all out when sporting their
0:10:35.120,0:10:39.839
favorite memorabilia in their homes
0:10:37.600,0:10:41.680
now however it’s a whole other ball game
0:10:39.839,0:10:43.040
when you want to transform your house
0:10:41.680,0:10:44.720
into
0:10:43.040,0:10:46.399
a popular attraction especially the
0:10:44.720,0:10:49.519
haunted mansion i know
0:10:46.399,0:10:51.839
nothing about that
0:10:49.519,0:10:53.360
oh wait i do because our living room is
0:10:51.839,0:10:56.800
all haunted mansion
0:10:53.360,0:10:58.880
so one airbnb owner has now converted
0:10:56.800,0:11:00.000
his rentable home into the haunted
0:10:58.880,0:11:02.399
mansion like no
0:11:00.000,0:11:04.560
other fan and it happens to be a short
0:11:02.399,0:11:07.680
drive from disneyland so unfortunately
0:11:04.560,0:11:11.200
we’re a little far from it um so
0:11:07.680,0:11:14.160
a massive disney parks fan has converted
0:11:11.200,0:11:15.040
his orange county california four
0:11:14.160,0:11:17.920
bedroom
0:11:15.040,0:11:20.160
two bath home into the a perfect
0:11:17.920,0:11:21.120
recreation of disneyland’s haunted
0:11:20.160,0:11:24.880
mansion
0:11:21.120,0:11:27.200
uh he had said um you know in the past
0:11:24.880,0:11:29.200
um you know most guests kind of do one
0:11:27.200,0:11:30.959
or two bedrooms but he actually took it
0:11:29.200,0:11:33.920
to the next level and did
0:11:30.959,0:11:36.399
every room of the house so the official
0:11:33.920,0:11:39.200
page of this haunted mansion inspired
0:11:36.399,0:11:41.519
airbnb states that leave the world of
0:11:39.200,0:11:43.920
the living behind and cross over
0:11:41.519,0:11:46.160
at least for a few nights to this
0:11:43.920,0:11:48.000
ghoulish delightful haunted mansion
0:11:46.160,0:11:50.800
inspired and frightfully
0:11:48.000,0:11:53.120
immersive treat you and your loved ones
0:11:50.800,0:11:54.880
will encounter a plethora of haunted
0:11:53.120,0:11:57.920
mansion replicas
0:11:54.880,0:11:59.839
ghost ghostly illusions and sights and
0:11:57.920,0:12:01.680
sounds that will make you feel like you
0:11:59.839,0:12:04.880
are truly spending a night
0:12:01.680,0:12:06.959
in disney’s haunted mansion um
0:12:04.880,0:12:08.000
so just looking at at some of these
0:12:06.959,0:12:11.920
pictures
0:12:08.000,0:12:12.880
um from it it looks amazing it looks
0:12:11.920,0:12:16.160
like
0:12:12.880,0:12:19.120
a disney uh and you know
0:12:16.160,0:12:20.000
version hotel you know that disney would
0:12:19.120,0:12:23.600
have done
0:12:20.000,0:12:26.800
um so they have various different suites
0:12:23.600,0:12:29.040
there’s um the master gracie room which
0:12:26.800,0:12:30.560
has a california king bed the madame
0:12:29.040,0:12:34.480
leota room
0:12:30.560,0:12:37.440
which has a queen bed hatbox ghost room
0:12:34.480,0:12:38.000
two queen beds and then the ravens room
0:12:37.440,0:12:41.440
which has
0:12:38.000,0:12:44.000
two twin beds um so
0:12:41.440,0:12:45.279
you know it offers a free wi-fi and a
0:12:44.000,0:12:47.040
washer and dryer
0:12:45.279,0:12:49.120
and you know all the amenities that you
0:12:47.040,0:12:51.120
would expect um
0:12:49.120,0:12:52.720
the the other thing is you know like the
0:12:51.120,0:12:55.920
the stretching
0:12:52.720,0:12:58.320
uh portrait room is a game room so they
0:12:55.920,0:12:59.200
have that they have a pet cemetery out
0:12:58.320,0:13:02.399
back
0:12:59.200,0:13:03.440
um they do have various sights and
0:13:02.399,0:13:05.279
sounds
0:13:03.440,0:13:07.279
that if you’re having trouble sleeping
0:13:05.279,0:13:08.720
at night they can turn off so i thought
0:13:07.279,0:13:11.760
that was kind of
0:13:08.720,0:13:13.600
interesting you know to to put as
0:13:11.760,0:13:15.839
a different plug you know we can you
0:13:13.600,0:13:18.880
know we can turn it off
0:13:15.839,0:13:22.240
so looks really cool um at the moment
0:13:18.880,0:13:23.279
the nightly rates are going for 572
0:13:22.240,0:13:26.079
dollars per
0:13:23.279,0:13:27.040
night but if you’re splitting the cost
0:13:26.079,0:13:29.680
amongst
0:13:27.040,0:13:30.240
five or six people then you’re staying
0:13:29.680,0:13:32.800
for
0:13:30.240,0:13:33.760
about a hundred dollars a night and it
0:13:32.800,0:13:36.639
and it sleeps
0:13:33.760,0:13:37.200
you know obviously if you you take up
0:13:36.639,0:13:40.000
the whole
0:13:37.200,0:13:40.720
area you know you can sleep at least you
0:13:40.000,0:13:43.760
know
0:13:40.720,0:13:46.800
at least six people maybe even more so
0:13:43.760,0:13:48.399
very cool looking very cool i mean i can
0:13:46.800,0:13:49.360
only imagine how much something like
0:13:48.399,0:13:52.000
this cost to
0:13:49.360,0:13:53.360
oh just to decorate it i’d like to reach
0:13:52.000,0:13:55.279
out to him and find out like where he
0:13:53.360,0:13:56.560
got his wallpaper from because
0:13:55.279,0:13:58.320
that’s one of the things we’ve been
0:13:56.560,0:14:01.279
trying to find right that we can
0:13:58.320,0:14:03.040
affordably do here right and that’s one
0:14:01.279,0:14:06.399
of the things whenever you
0:14:03.040,0:14:08.399
you know because i’m part of
0:14:06.399,0:14:10.079
a bunch of different haunted mansion
0:14:08.399,0:14:11.600
facebook fan groups
0:14:10.079,0:14:13.600
and everybody always you know whenever
0:14:11.600,0:14:16.160
they wallpaper anything it’s always like
0:14:13.600,0:14:17.680
the bathroom right or some small corner
0:14:16.160,0:14:20.959
because nobody ever
0:14:17.680,0:14:24.399
because to buy the wallpaper um
0:14:20.959,0:14:26.240
you know is just so it’s so expensive so
0:14:24.399,0:14:28.639
but like even even this room here
0:14:26.240,0:14:29.600
oh yeah portrait room you know where you
0:14:28.639,0:14:31.839
have the digital
0:14:29.600,0:14:33.600
versions of the the changing portraits
0:14:31.839,0:14:34.560
that’s still cool you know yeah you’ve
0:14:33.600,0:14:36.240
got the bus
0:14:34.560,0:14:38.160
built into the wall yeah it’s just the
0:14:36.240,0:14:39.120
level of detail that they went to oh
0:14:38.160,0:14:40.800
yeah
0:14:39.120,0:14:42.560
yeah on some of the things that they had
0:14:40.800,0:14:46.560
here was just incredible yeah
0:14:42.560,0:14:49.680
so if anybody you know that’s listening
0:14:46.560,0:14:52.160
you know goes to it or you know
0:14:49.680,0:14:53.040
please reach out to us and let us know
0:14:52.160,0:14:55.360
because
0:14:53.040,0:14:56.639
i’d love to you know see some more uh
0:14:55.360,0:15:00.240
behind the scenes
0:14:56.639,0:15:02.880
uh photos and and experiences um
0:15:00.240,0:15:04.560
you know from it and honestly for 5 42
0:15:02.880,0:15:06.880
or whatever it was a night
0:15:04.560,0:15:08.560
to spend a night there yeah it’s worth
0:15:06.880,0:15:08.880
it oh absolutely because you know you’d
0:15:08.560,0:15:12.240
be
0:15:08.880,0:15:14.480
like roaming the halls and and you know
0:15:12.240,0:15:16.639
speaking of the halls we even have the
0:15:14.480,0:15:17.120
breathing doors with spirits trying to
0:15:16.639,0:15:19.920
get out
0:15:17.120,0:15:20.240
yeah yeah so that that that’s just you
0:15:19.920,0:15:22.480
know
0:15:20.240,0:15:23.920
again that’s for anybody that’s a
0:15:22.480,0:15:27.040
haunted mansion
0:15:23.920,0:15:29.600
fan and would love to just spend a night
0:15:27.040,0:15:32.399
in the haunted mansion this is obviously
0:15:29.600,0:15:32.720
the next best thing yeah very cool very
0:15:32.399,0:15:35.120
cool
0:15:32.720,0:15:36.639
cool article we’re gonna take a quick
0:15:35.120,0:15:41.839
break and we’ll be right back with our
0:15:36.639,0:15:41.839

[Music]
0:16:55.440,0:17:02.000
that’s a little loud huh pew pew pew pew
0:16:59.040,0:17:05.839
sorry like holy moly where’s that coming
0:17:02.000,0:17:05.839
from we’ll fix that
0:17:07.120,0:17:12.000
so it seems that mark hamill says that
0:17:10.480,0:17:16.240
he’s secretly been
0:17:12.000,0:17:18.400
in every star wars movie since 2015.
0:17:16.240,0:17:19.919
so everybody knows that mark hamill is
0:17:18.400,0:17:22.319
in star wars unless you only
0:17:19.919,0:17:23.280
yes yeah unless you’ve been living under
0:17:22.319,0:17:25.199
a rock
0:17:23.280,0:17:26.959
um and then what’s funny is in the
0:17:25.199,0:17:29.360
article it says or you know him from the
0:17:26.959,0:17:30.880
batman animated series
0:17:29.360,0:17:32.640
your mind just might have been blown
0:17:30.880,0:17:35.200
because now you found out
0:17:32.640,0:17:36.080
that you know the joker is also luke
0:17:35.200,0:17:38.400
skywalker
0:17:36.080,0:17:39.760
so again unless you didn’t already know
0:17:38.400,0:17:43.120
he’s such a good joker
0:17:39.760,0:17:44.559
oh he does he really does um so now did
0:17:43.120,0:17:47.760
you also know that he
0:17:44.559,0:17:50.240
was in a lot of other star wars movies
0:17:47.760,0:17:52.000
so yeah obviously we know that he’s
0:17:50.240,0:17:54.960
played luke skywalker in
0:17:52.000,0:17:55.760
a majority of the films but what you
0:17:54.960,0:17:58.880
know kind of
0:17:55.760,0:18:01.200
came out um you know
0:17:58.880,0:18:03.600
that was uh kind of revealed was
0:18:01.200,0:18:07.360
actually prompted by a tweet
0:18:03.600,0:18:09.520
from some other star wars um
0:18:07.360,0:18:10.480
it says in the article a star wars nerd
0:18:09.520,0:18:12.840
who was
0:18:10.480,0:18:14.960
doing some archiving work in the
0:18:12.840,0:18:17.360
wikipedia and noted
0:18:14.960,0:18:18.559
that mark hamill had provided the voice
0:18:17.360,0:18:21.600
of the
0:18:18.559,0:18:24.720
bartender from the mandalorian the
0:18:21.600,0:18:27.039
bartender droid ev9
0:18:24.720,0:18:28.000
well then mark hamill actually responded
0:18:27.039,0:18:30.400
by saying that he’s
0:18:28.000,0:18:31.360
actually had multiple secret voice
0:18:30.400,0:18:34.240
cameos
0:18:31.360,0:18:36.799
in every star wars movie that’s been
0:18:34.240,0:18:39.360
released since 2015
0:18:36.799,0:18:40.400
which covers all of the disney movies
0:18:39.360,0:18:43.840
even the ones
0:18:40.400,0:18:45.840
that luke skywalker is not in so disney
0:18:43.840,0:18:47.840
and disney owned studios have a pattern
0:18:45.840,0:18:49.120
of selecting voice actors who are kind
0:18:47.840,0:18:51.280
of good luck charms
0:18:49.120,0:18:53.360
and putting them in every movie just
0:18:51.280,0:18:56.240
like alan tudyk
0:18:53.360,0:18:57.120
does for disney animation he’s basically
0:18:56.240,0:19:00.080
in
0:18:57.120,0:19:01.200
uh every disney animated movie since i
0:19:00.080,0:19:03.760
don’t even remember
0:19:01.200,0:19:05.679
you know how far back and obviously john
0:19:03.760,0:19:08.160
ratzenberg
0:19:05.679,0:19:09.120
john ratzenberger is in every pixar
0:19:08.160,0:19:11.280
movie that
0:19:09.120,0:19:13.520
comes out and that’s been since every
0:19:11.280,0:19:14.880
pixar movie has come out so now it seems
0:19:13.520,0:19:18.799
that mark hamill
0:19:14.880,0:19:22.160
is kind of the uh lucasfilms version of
0:19:18.799,0:19:24.160
the voice actor who’s in every every
0:19:22.160,0:19:26.640
movie um
0:19:24.160,0:19:27.520
so who are these you know other secret
0:19:26.640,0:19:30.080
characters
0:19:27.520,0:19:31.760
uh so wikipedia knows about a couple of
0:19:30.080,0:19:33.840
the named aliens
0:19:31.760,0:19:35.760
in the sequel movies but those
0:19:33.840,0:19:38.000
definitely aren’t the secret ones
0:19:35.760,0:19:40.400
and the page actually says nothing about
0:19:38.000,0:19:43.120
him being in solo
0:19:40.400,0:19:45.120
or rogue one but obviously someone needs
0:19:43.120,0:19:45.760
to sit down and kind of watch all of
0:19:45.120,0:19:47.919
them
0:19:45.760,0:19:49.039
and try and figure out as painful as
0:19:47.919,0:19:51.280
that might be
0:19:49.039,0:19:52.559
yeah that’s the whole thing is who’s
0:19:51.280,0:19:54.720
there might be a few people that would
0:19:52.559,0:19:57.919
want to use a glutton for punishment
0:19:54.720,0:20:00.880
too um but then again you know
0:19:57.919,0:20:02.880
which character is it you know is it are
0:20:00.880,0:20:04.720
you listening for a luke skywalker voice
0:20:02.880,0:20:05.280
or are you listening for a joker voice
0:20:04.720,0:20:07.120
so
0:20:05.280,0:20:09.120
you know there’s a good chance that you
0:20:07.120,0:20:12.159
heard him and you didn’t even know
0:20:09.120,0:20:13.840
that it was him um so he so mark hamill
0:20:12.159,0:20:14.480
actually offered a couple of hints a
0:20:13.840,0:20:17.200
while back
0:20:14.480,0:20:19.200
explaining that any star wars character
0:20:17.200,0:20:22.480
played by patrick williams
0:20:19.200,0:20:24.640
is actually him but it seems like he’s
0:20:22.480,0:20:26.640
actually just mentioning mentioned in
0:20:24.640,0:20:27.760
the credits without saying who he
0:20:26.640,0:20:31.440
actually
0:20:27.760,0:20:34.799
plays um so the only solution is to
0:20:31.440,0:20:37.120
just watch everything and try and listen
0:20:34.799,0:20:38.960
and figure out if it’s him or not so
0:20:37.120,0:20:40.240
well this doesn’t really surprise me all
0:20:38.960,0:20:41.919
that much given the number of
0:20:40.240,0:20:43.520
cameos that have been happening in the
0:20:41.919,0:20:45.440
star wars movies themselves
0:20:43.520,0:20:46.559
right everyone in the brother is getting
0:20:45.440,0:20:49.919
the cameo even the
0:20:46.559,0:20:53.280
the the um heir to the
0:20:49.919,0:20:55.200
yeah prince harry or was it both of us
0:20:53.280,0:20:56.720
both of the brothers were right and they
0:20:55.200,0:20:58.799
were all uncredited right
0:20:56.720,0:21:00.720
cameos for the most part so this doesn’t
0:20:58.799,0:21:02.480
surprise me because of the number of
0:21:00.720,0:21:04.159
cameos that are being done
0:21:02.480,0:21:06.240
and it doesn’t surprise you because of
0:21:04.159,0:21:06.720
all the different voices he’s capable of
0:21:06.240,0:21:09.360
doing
0:21:06.720,0:21:09.840
absolutely and he does it uncredited
0:21:09.360,0:21:11.919
just as
0:21:09.840,0:21:13.679
you know just right and just to be like
0:21:11.919,0:21:15.520
hey i’m an easter egg in it you know
0:21:13.679,0:21:17.039
the fact that you know kathleen kennedy
0:21:15.520,0:21:19.039
keeps him involved in all these things i
0:21:17.039,0:21:21.600
think is a great tribute to him
0:21:19.039,0:21:22.799
you know as the legacy that he’s brought
0:21:21.600,0:21:25.760
to the franchise
0:21:22.799,0:21:26.880
yeah kind of a cool yeah cool reward you
0:21:25.760,0:21:30.480
get there
0:21:26.880,0:21:31.520
so to keep on with the luke theme um so
0:21:30.480,0:21:34.960
it seems that
0:21:31.520,0:21:38.320
grogu and luke are part of
0:21:34.960,0:21:40.559
an official uh comic con at home
0:21:38.320,0:21:42.559
exclusive poster so although the
0:21:40.559,0:21:44.880
mandalorian season three has
0:21:42.559,0:21:46.240
yet to confirm a release date a new
0:21:44.880,0:21:49.360
comic con poster
0:21:46.240,0:21:52.320
teasing what’s in store for grogu and
0:21:49.360,0:21:54.159
uh and luke an official licensed poster
0:21:52.320,0:21:54.960
based on the mandalorian has been
0:21:54.159,0:21:57.520
released
0:21:54.960,0:21:58.000
that depletes luke skywalker and grogu
0:21:57.520,0:22:00.240
building
0:21:58.000,0:22:01.360
a lightsaber and no they didn’t go down
0:22:00.240,0:22:02.880
to disney to
0:22:01.360,0:22:05.200
to to do it but it would have been so
0:22:02.880,0:22:07.200
much easier that would have been cool
0:22:05.200,0:22:09.360
um so the mandalorian season two
0:22:07.200,0:22:10.080
obviously concluded at the end of last
0:22:09.360,0:22:12.799
year
0:22:10.080,0:22:15.600
bringing an end to the season filled to
0:22:12.799,0:22:18.240
the brim with cameos easter eggs
0:22:15.600,0:22:21.200
uh for all the star wars fans and while
0:22:18.240,0:22:22.320
the studio has yet to confirm a concrete
0:22:21.200,0:22:24.320
release date
0:22:22.320,0:22:26.080
for the show’s third season there are
0:22:24.320,0:22:29.120
reports that season 3 is
0:22:26.080,0:22:32.240
actually currently filming right now
0:22:29.120,0:22:35.919
so obviously if you watched
0:22:32.240,0:22:38.640
the mandalorian and you saw the season 3
0:22:35.919,0:22:40.559
i’m sorry the season 2 finale very
0:22:38.640,0:22:42.159
action-packed the last few minutes you
0:22:40.559,0:22:45.679
had the mandalorian
0:22:42.159,0:22:48.480
with you know him handing off baby yoda
0:22:45.679,0:22:49.200
to luke skywalker to basically be
0:22:48.480,0:22:52.799
trained in the
0:22:49.200,0:22:56.159
force um you know obviously fans were
0:22:52.799,0:22:59.280
very excited to see a young skywalker
0:22:56.159,0:23:02.559
in action once again um you know so
0:22:59.280,0:23:04.080
where does this all go from here is what
0:23:02.559,0:23:06.640
everybody wants to know
0:23:04.080,0:23:09.039
but shop trends had unveiled the comic
0:23:06.640,0:23:12.480
con at home exclusive wall poster
0:23:09.039,0:23:14.880
that shows um you know the two of them
0:23:12.480,0:23:15.600
uh working on a lightsaber so does that
0:23:14.880,0:23:17.200
mean that
0:23:15.600,0:23:19.120
we’re gonna see a little bit more of
0:23:17.200,0:23:20.880
that that would be kind of
0:23:19.120,0:23:22.480
cool if that’s like some sort of
0:23:20.880,0:23:24.320
christmas you know
0:23:22.480,0:23:25.679
toy that comes out that’d be kind of
0:23:24.320,0:23:29.200
cool that would be good
0:23:25.679,0:23:29.919
you know so obviously luke’s cameo was
0:23:29.200,0:23:32.559
possible
0:23:29.919,0:23:34.799
you know thanks to disney’s patented
0:23:32.559,0:23:36.960
de-aging technology which
0:23:34.799,0:23:38.400
now has been used across several of
0:23:36.960,0:23:41.440
their franchises
0:23:38.400,0:23:42.640
including tron the mcu and obviously
0:23:41.440,0:23:46.080
star wars
0:23:42.640,0:23:48.240
um so while everybody was kind of
0:23:46.080,0:23:50.400
you know happy to see him now people are
0:23:48.240,0:23:54.159
wondering is he going to be part
0:23:50.400,0:23:56.640
of more right in the future so
0:23:54.159,0:23:58.400
well on a side note with that there was
0:23:56.640,0:24:00.080
a story in the verge that
0:23:58.400,0:24:02.000
i i stuck in here and it’ll be in our
0:24:00.080,0:24:05.520
show notes when we publish them
0:24:02.000,0:24:09.279
uh about a deep fake that was created
0:24:05.520,0:24:12.559
based on the de-aging scene of luke
0:24:09.279,0:24:13.679
by youtuber shamrock and he went through
0:24:12.559,0:24:16.880
and de-aged
0:24:13.679,0:24:20.080
uh luke again with a deep fake that made
0:24:16.880,0:24:23.760
him look even more realistic and
0:24:20.080,0:24:25.360
um more lifelike and apparently disney
0:24:23.760,0:24:27.279
got a hold of this
0:24:25.360,0:24:29.200
and liked it so much that they actually
0:24:27.279,0:24:31.200
gave him a job
0:24:29.200,0:24:32.480
produced as i forget i didn’t write down
0:24:31.200,0:24:34.720
what his title was but
0:24:32.480,0:24:36.320
like his job is like facial
0:24:34.720,0:24:38.559
reconstruction or something like that
0:24:36.320,0:24:40.080
that’s cool that’s cool in their in
0:24:38.559,0:24:43.600
their studio now so
0:24:40.080,0:24:45.919
kind of a cool little offshoot to this
0:24:43.600,0:24:47.120
that that turned into a career for
0:24:45.919,0:24:50.400
someone which was really cool
0:24:47.120,0:24:51.520
yeah very cool so uh that was all we had
0:24:50.400,0:24:53.520
for our
0:24:51.520,0:24:54.880
tales from the edge of the galaxy yep
0:24:53.520,0:25:01.840
we’ll be right back with our

0:26:10.960,0:26:15.600
go for entertainment news i was
0:26:13.600,0:26:18.080
impressed that it wasn’t so loud and
0:26:15.600,0:26:19.919
you know i have a slider over here to
0:26:18.080,0:26:22.000
adjust the volume so
0:26:19.919,0:26:24.240
thanks i can do it on the fly everything
0:26:22.000,0:26:25.279
doesn’t have to be fixed in post that’s
0:26:24.240,0:26:28.320
awesome
0:26:25.279,0:26:31.360
so after nearly a decade
0:26:28.320,0:26:32.559
frank uh darabont’s a walking dead
0:26:31.360,0:26:35.279
lawsuit has now
0:26:32.559,0:26:36.400
ended with a 200 million dollar
0:26:35.279,0:26:39.360
settlement
0:26:36.400,0:26:40.240
phew thank goodness i feel so much
0:26:39.360,0:26:42.960
better now
0:26:40.240,0:26:44.960
yeah it had a real effect on my life too
0:26:42.960,0:26:46.880
well and what’s really kind of funny is
0:26:44.960,0:26:48.440
the person that wrote this article which
0:26:46.880,0:26:52.320
came from uh
0:26:48.440,0:26:55.360
avclub.com he obviously had like no
0:26:52.320,0:26:57.120
love for the guy at all um
0:26:55.360,0:26:58.960
so he goes on to talk about you know it
0:26:57.120,0:26:59.520
may be difficult to remember at this
0:26:58.960,0:27:01.679
point
0:26:59.520,0:27:02.720
but there was a time when amc’s the
0:27:01.679,0:27:05.120
walking dead
0:27:02.720,0:27:06.080
was a really good show specifically
0:27:05.120,0:27:09.360
during the majority
0:27:06.080,0:27:11.200
of his first season um and it wasn’t
0:27:09.360,0:27:11.760
that it was surprisingly good it was
0:27:11.200,0:27:13.919
better
0:27:11.760,0:27:15.919
that it had the right to be it was
0:27:13.919,0:27:18.159
legitimately good so obviously this
0:27:15.919,0:27:21.760
person is not a fan of the current
0:27:18.159,0:27:23.200
version of the walking dead um but it
0:27:21.760,0:27:26.399
seemed that apparently
0:27:23.200,0:27:29.440
the extremely expensive and difficult to
0:27:26.399,0:27:33.039
make first season um
0:27:29.440,0:27:35.440
after the the first season had ended amc
0:27:33.039,0:27:36.399
and the original show runner frank
0:27:35.440,0:27:39.840
darabont
0:27:36.399,0:27:41.840
had split uh they’d gone their separate
0:27:39.840,0:27:44.799
ways he was actually fired
0:27:41.840,0:27:45.279
um so they had fired him ahead of the
0:27:44.799,0:27:47.919
second
0:27:45.279,0:27:48.480
season of the walking dead and then he
0:27:47.919,0:27:51.600
in turn
0:27:48.480,0:27:52.559
sued amc for allegedly forcing him off
0:27:51.600,0:27:54.880
of the show
0:27:52.559,0:27:57.279
and for refusing to pay him for what he
0:27:54.880,0:27:59.520
thought was his share of the show’s
0:27:57.279,0:28:01.679
profits with the profits growing and
0:27:59.520,0:28:02.880
growing as the show obviously became
0:28:01.679,0:28:06.159
more and more
0:28:02.880,0:28:07.279
of a hit um one of the core issues in
0:28:06.159,0:28:10.320
the case was that
0:28:07.279,0:28:12.559
the walking dead was amc’s first wholly
0:28:10.320,0:28:15.279
owned original series
0:28:12.559,0:28:16.000
and it both produced and distributed the
0:28:15.279,0:28:18.720
show
0:28:16.000,0:28:21.600
and while this was kind of an industry
0:28:18.720,0:28:23.679
insider thing the results of the lawsuit
0:28:21.600,0:28:25.679
uh could have had all sorts of huge
0:28:23.679,0:28:26.480
implications for how profit sharing
0:28:25.679,0:28:29.039
works
0:28:26.480,0:28:30.240
in the world where it’s increasingly
0:28:29.039,0:28:32.960
common for show
0:28:30.240,0:28:34.640
networks and streaming platforms to both
0:28:32.960,0:28:38.320
produce and distribute
0:28:34.640,0:28:41.279
their own content so you know for the
0:28:38.320,0:28:43.039
the average person watching the show
0:28:41.279,0:28:46.159
this had no effect on
0:28:43.039,0:28:48.399
on you know anything it was basically
0:28:46.159,0:28:49.520
he you know kept going back and forth
0:28:48.399,0:28:51.760
with amc
0:28:49.520,0:28:52.640
with this lawsuit for the last again 10
0:28:51.760,0:28:55.200
years
0:28:52.640,0:28:56.080
and they finally basically settled out
0:28:55.200,0:28:58.399
of court for
0:28:56.080,0:28:59.120
200 million dollars and now you know
0:28:58.399,0:29:02.000
that’s it
0:28:59.120,0:29:03.919
and as we know the walking dead the
0:29:02.000,0:29:05.279
final season is coming up the final
0:29:03.919,0:29:07.679
season is going to be
0:29:05.279,0:29:08.640
broken up into a couple different
0:29:07.679,0:29:11.039
versions
0:29:08.640,0:29:13.200
or or segments so it’s going to be over
0:29:11.039,0:29:17.200
like the next two years
0:29:13.200,0:29:19.520
um so again no change for for the show
0:29:17.200,0:29:21.520
but he’s finally you know getting paid
0:29:19.520,0:29:23.679
back for for being fired
0:29:21.520,0:29:26.720
well and i think it’s kind of odd to
0:29:23.679,0:29:29.039
expect you to continue to get
0:29:26.720,0:29:30.720
profit sharing from a show that you’re
0:29:29.039,0:29:33.679
no longer involved with
0:29:30.720,0:29:34.960
yeah um i you know had it gone to court
0:29:33.679,0:29:36.799
they would have looked at
0:29:34.960,0:29:38.559
at the profitability of that first
0:29:36.799,0:29:40.399
season and
0:29:38.559,0:29:42.000
based on all accounts it wasn’t
0:29:40.399,0:29:43.600
profitable because of how high the
0:29:42.000,0:29:45.360
production costs were
0:29:43.600,0:29:47.120
and the production costs were that high
0:29:45.360,0:29:49.840
because of him right
0:29:47.120,0:29:50.559
so if anything he should have had to pay
0:29:49.840,0:29:52.880
them back
0:29:50.559,0:29:54.799
right for all the money right for many
0:29:52.880,0:29:58.080
residuals he was getting from it
0:29:54.799,0:29:59.760
yeah and then not having a creative hand
0:29:58.080,0:30:01.679
in the rest of the show should have
0:29:59.760,0:30:04.080
entitled him to absolutely nothing
0:30:01.679,0:30:05.840
right so you know it’s it’s one of these
0:30:04.080,0:30:07.600
things where it’s funny how legal things
0:30:05.840,0:30:08.080
tend to work themselves out like this
0:30:07.600,0:30:12.399
yeah
0:30:08.080,0:30:14.159
yeah um and i can’t really get upset or
0:30:12.399,0:30:15.200
overly interested right millionaires
0:30:14.159,0:30:16.960
arguing over how many
0:30:15.200,0:30:18.640
millions they should have right and that
0:30:16.960,0:30:20.559
was what was kind of funny because again
0:30:18.640,0:30:22.720
the person that wrote the article
0:30:20.559,0:30:24.399
had no love for the guy was like good
0:30:22.720,0:30:26.480
for him right yeah he got the money but
0:30:24.399,0:30:28.640
i wrote a story on it and
0:30:26.480,0:30:30.799
okay right like that was a couple bucks
0:30:28.640,0:30:33.840
for writing a story
0:30:30.799,0:30:35.600
not 200 million dollars so yeah so
0:30:33.840,0:30:37.279
so if you need to borrow any money he’s
0:30:35.600,0:30:40.480
the guy you go to now so
0:30:37.279,0:30:44.000
right so moving right along
0:30:40.480,0:30:46.000
why didn’t loki use the void
0:30:44.000,0:30:47.440
yeah so this was kind of an interesting
0:30:46.000,0:30:51.279
story because again
0:30:47.440,0:30:53.919
if you have watched the various
0:30:51.279,0:30:54.640
disney plush shows and the behind the
0:30:53.919,0:30:57.120
scene
0:30:54.640,0:30:57.760
shows that they’ve done showing how they
0:30:57.120,0:31:00.799
film it
0:30:57.760,0:31:01.840
you would kind of think oh loki probably
0:31:00.799,0:31:03.840
used it too
0:31:01.840,0:31:05.120
and it seems that the production
0:31:03.840,0:31:08.640
designer uh
0:31:05.120,0:31:11.840
revealed why they didn’t use um the
0:31:08.640,0:31:13.200
technology called the volume of the
0:31:11.840,0:31:16.480
volume i’m sorry i said the void
0:31:13.200,0:31:17.200
right um so in the amc’s third series
0:31:16.480,0:31:20.000
which
0:31:17.200,0:31:22.480
which follows loki uh after he messes
0:31:20.000,0:31:24.559
with the sacred timeline by ceiling
0:31:22.480,0:31:26.399
stealing the tesseract during the
0:31:24.559,0:31:31.279
avengers time heist
0:31:26.399,0:31:34.559
in 2012 he gets apprehended by the tva
0:31:31.279,0:31:38.080
and he you know forms a
0:31:34.559,0:31:40.880
friendship and a bond with agent mobius
0:31:38.080,0:31:42.399
um and then they set off on some time
0:31:40.880,0:31:43.919
traveling adventures where they
0:31:42.399,0:31:47.120
encounter
0:31:43.919,0:31:50.240
multiple variants including uh him
0:31:47.120,0:31:54.480
variants of himself including sylvie
0:31:50.240,0:31:54.880
but unlike um marvel’s two previous
0:31:54.480,0:31:56.960
shows
0:31:54.880,0:31:59.440
juan division and falcon in the winter
0:31:56.960,0:32:02.880
soldier loki actually jumped around
0:31:59.440,0:32:06.240
different points in in time and space
0:32:02.880,0:32:08.320
and what they you know people presumed
0:32:06.240,0:32:11.279
was that they had used the volume
0:32:08.320,0:32:12.320
just like in the mandalorian but however
0:32:11.279,0:32:15.039
the production
0:32:12.320,0:32:16.559
designer and his team decided not to use
0:32:15.039,0:32:19.760
the cutting edge tech
0:32:16.559,0:32:20.880
cutting edge technology for the marvel
0:32:19.760,0:32:22.960
series because
0:32:20.880,0:32:23.919
because it didn’t coordinate with their
0:32:22.960,0:32:27.279
goals
0:32:23.919,0:32:29.679
so according to comicbook.com he had
0:32:27.279,0:32:32.320
said it just wasn’t creatively
0:32:29.679,0:32:33.760
super relevant for loki so now the
0:32:32.320,0:32:36.799
volume which is also
0:32:33.760,0:32:40.240
referred to as stagecraft led
0:32:36.799,0:32:43.760
services uh is
0:32:40.240,0:32:46.559
is essentially a 360 degree virtual
0:32:43.760,0:32:48.640
set within an indoor sound stage which
0:32:46.559,0:32:49.840
was popularized obviously by the
0:32:48.640,0:32:52.960
mandalorian
0:32:49.840,0:32:56.559
um so the created
0:32:52.960,0:32:58.240
v fx company industrial light and magic
0:32:56.559,0:33:00.880
and the technologies
0:32:58.240,0:33:02.159
um with combination of the high-res
0:33:00.880,0:33:04.960
graphics
0:33:02.159,0:33:06.320
basically you know allow the the
0:33:04.960,0:33:08.399
background to move
0:33:06.320,0:33:10.240
at as the actors are moving so it’s not
0:33:08.399,0:33:12.320
like a stagnant
0:33:10.240,0:33:13.279
set so you can have them you know
0:33:12.320,0:33:16.000
walking
0:33:13.279,0:33:17.440
across the desert and have it as a
0:33:16.000,0:33:20.559
continuous scene
0:33:17.440,0:33:23.440
but it seems that um you know for
0:33:20.559,0:33:24.880
what they were looking for in loki they
0:33:23.440,0:33:26.080
didn’t want to use that that they
0:33:24.880,0:33:29.039
actually wanted more
0:33:26.080,0:33:30.640
traditional practical sets for it now
0:33:29.039,0:33:31.919
this was something that we actually did
0:33:30.640,0:33:35.200
get to see
0:33:31.919,0:33:36.880
when we watched um the making of special
0:33:35.200,0:33:38.320
which is one of the nice things with the
0:33:36.880,0:33:41.679
disney plush shows
0:33:38.320,0:33:45.760
is after the season’s end they do this
0:33:41.679,0:33:48.960
behind the scenes um episode where they
0:33:45.760,0:33:52.080
they show you various different things
0:33:48.960,0:33:54.720
and the one scene they showed was this
0:33:52.080,0:33:57.519
big giant set that they built because
0:33:54.720,0:34:00.080
they wanted it to have that 360
0:33:57.519,0:34:00.720
look and it was something that they
0:34:00.080,0:34:03.360
probably
0:34:00.720,0:34:04.640
wouldn’t have been able to capture if
0:34:03.360,0:34:06.960
they had done it in
0:34:04.640,0:34:08.079
the void so you could definitely see you
0:34:06.960,0:34:10.960
know some of the difference
0:34:08.079,0:34:12.800
but also what’s kind of neat is until we
0:34:10.960,0:34:14.960
saw the stuff about
0:34:12.800,0:34:16.639
um not the void the volume see you got
0:34:14.960,0:34:18.960
me saying that so until we
0:34:16.639,0:34:21.919
saw the behind the scenes stuff of the
0:34:18.960,0:34:24.960
mandalorian we didn’t even know
0:34:21.919,0:34:26.480
what scenes were done in the volume and
0:34:24.960,0:34:28.720
and what weren’t because that’s how
0:34:26.480,0:34:30.879
seamless it looked so
0:34:28.720,0:34:32.079
obviously they didn’t use it but there
0:34:30.879,0:34:34.159
were obviously
0:34:32.079,0:34:35.599
you know other special effects that they
0:34:34.159,0:34:37.839
used in the show
0:34:35.599,0:34:38.960
um so marvel has clearly spent a lot of
0:34:37.839,0:34:41.839
time and money
0:34:38.960,0:34:43.839
on the reality bending series uh special
0:34:41.839,0:34:46.320
effects so while the volume
0:34:43.839,0:34:49.440
wasn’t used for this obviously it’ll be
0:34:46.320,0:34:50.879
used for other things in the future
0:34:49.440,0:34:52.639
and that’s cool i like the fact that
0:34:50.879,0:34:55.760
they already have it they’re being
0:34:52.639,0:34:57.680
used on uh thor love and thunder yes
0:34:55.760,0:35:00.000
you know they’ve built forum around the
0:34:57.680,0:35:01.200
world right uh so clearly they’re in
0:35:00.000,0:35:03.200
high demand
0:35:01.200,0:35:04.240
before we get off of this story though i
0:35:03.200,0:35:06.079
did want to
0:35:04.240,0:35:07.680
this this wasn’t the meme that i was
0:35:06.079,0:35:11.359
looking for okay
0:35:07.680,0:35:14.480
um but it it kind of gets the gist of it
0:35:11.359,0:35:17.920
okay hang on a second so
0:35:14.480,0:35:18.640
in loki you have all these variants
0:35:17.920,0:35:20.960
right
0:35:18.640,0:35:22.240
so one of the variants happens to be a
0:35:20.960,0:35:25.599
crocodile loki
0:35:22.240,0:35:28.160
right alligator loki alligator crocodile
0:35:25.599,0:35:28.960
right right yeah he winds up biting off
0:35:28.160,0:35:31.920
one of the
0:35:28.960,0:35:33.520
other variant loki’s hands right so i
0:35:31.920,0:35:36.800
happened to come across this man
0:35:33.520,0:35:40.000
today about a thanos crossover okay
0:35:36.800,0:35:42.000
where you know thor went for the
0:35:40.000,0:35:44.880
chest he should have gone for the head
0:35:42.000,0:35:45.520
right croc loki would have gone for the
0:35:44.880,0:35:47.520
hand
0:35:45.520,0:35:50.800
right i am inevitable you would have
0:35:47.520,0:35:52.880
gotten croaky now
0:35:50.800,0:35:55.359
you would have gone okay biting the hand
0:35:52.880,0:35:56.800
off with the infinity gauntlet on it
0:35:55.359,0:35:58.800
and that would solve the problem right
0:35:56.800,0:36:00.880
there there you go okay so that’s a
0:35:58.800,0:36:03.280
that’s an alternate universe one we all
0:36:00.880,0:36:04.720
we’re all looking forward to seeing okay
0:36:03.280,0:36:07.440
all right that’s kind of cool
0:36:04.720,0:36:08.320
i like that so but that was all we had
0:36:07.440,0:36:10.800
for our
0:36:08.320,0:36:12.880
entertainment news this week we will be
0:36:10.800,0:36:16.000
right back with our
0:36:12.880,0:36:17.200
uh what do we got next oh our inside
0:36:16.000,0:36:19.200
this week yeah i’m a little out of
0:36:17.200,0:36:26.000
practice you got to work with me here
0:36:19.200,0:36:28.400
we’ll be right back
0:36:26.000,0:36:30.240
go for your insightful pick so my
0:36:28.400,0:36:33.599
insightful pick this week is a
0:36:30.240,0:36:34.560
new documentary uh that just aired on
0:36:33.599,0:36:36.960
disney plus
0:36:34.560,0:36:38.320
and i was very excited to hear that they
0:36:36.960,0:36:41.760
were doing this
0:36:38.320,0:36:44.079
um and now it is available and it is
0:36:41.760,0:36:46.640
called behind the attraction
0:36:44.079,0:36:48.800
so you get to get a peek beyond the
0:36:46.640,0:36:51.040
magic of disney parks to discover
0:36:48.800,0:36:52.160
what’s beyond the attraction behind the
0:36:51.040,0:36:55.119
attraction
0:36:52.160,0:36:55.440
from executive producers dwayne johnson
0:36:55.119,0:36:58.720
uh
0:36:55.440,0:37:01.040
danny garcia and brian vokes-weiss
0:36:58.720,0:37:04.400
explore how imagineers filled the
0:37:01.040,0:37:06.480
haunted mansion with 999 happy haunts
0:37:04.400,0:37:08.960
how the twilight zone’s tower of terror
0:37:06.480,0:37:10.160
transformed into guardians of the galaxy
0:37:08.960,0:37:12.880
mission breakout
0:37:10.160,0:37:13.200
while defying gravity in the process and
0:37:12.880,0:37:15.920
why
0:37:13.200,0:37:18.240
space mountain took so long to launch
0:37:15.920,0:37:20.880
from the 1950s to today
0:37:18.240,0:37:23.200
from jungle cruise to it’s a small world
0:37:20.880,0:37:25.520
to star wars galaxy’s edge
0:37:23.200,0:37:26.320
disney parks attractions have amazed
0:37:25.520,0:37:28.960
millions
0:37:26.320,0:37:31.200
and this is the story of how they did it
0:37:28.960,0:37:34.480
so it’s a very
0:37:31.200,0:37:36.240
cool documentary it’s not one of those
0:37:34.480,0:37:36.880
boring put you to sleep it’s it’s
0:37:36.240,0:37:39.760
definitely
0:37:36.880,0:37:40.720
meant for the ones i recommend no no i’m
0:37:39.760,0:37:42.480
not saying that
0:37:40.720,0:37:44.160
some of the ones you watch are funny too
0:37:42.480,0:37:47.119
well not funny but
0:37:44.160,0:37:47.599
entertaining um but it’s definitely
0:37:47.119,0:37:50.880
meant
0:37:47.599,0:37:52.560
for the family to watch uh so there are
0:37:50.880,0:37:54.000
little things to kind of keep the kids
0:37:52.560,0:37:56.560
entertained but then there’s a you know
0:37:54.000,0:37:58.800
some inside jokes and different things
0:37:56.560,0:38:00.640
for you know the adults to kind of laugh
0:37:58.800,0:38:04.800
at it was kind of done
0:38:00.640,0:38:08.400
in the style of um the netflix
0:38:04.800,0:38:10.960
uh documentaries uh um
0:38:08.400,0:38:12.320
the the movies that made us or the toys
0:38:10.960,0:38:13.760
that made us so that you know
0:38:12.320,0:38:18.000
tongue-in-cheek
0:38:13.760,0:38:20.480
um uh aspect again to kind of keep it
0:38:18.000,0:38:22.480
keep it going we’ve watched four of the
0:38:20.480,0:38:25.119
six episodes so far
0:38:22.480,0:38:26.000
um and it’s neat because they don’t just
0:38:25.119,0:38:29.680
talk about
0:38:26.000,0:38:31.040
the one attraction they kind of give you
0:38:29.680,0:38:33.040
a little background because
0:38:31.040,0:38:34.960
when they talk about the jungle cruise
0:38:33.040,0:38:38.400
they talk about how the whole
0:38:34.960,0:38:41.200
idea of the park came to be and how
0:38:38.400,0:38:41.599
they created the jungle cruise and then
0:38:41.200,0:38:44.480
how
0:38:41.599,0:38:46.320
they did the jungle cruise in other
0:38:44.480,0:38:48.560
versions of the park and
0:38:46.320,0:38:50.320
and how they modified it same thing with
0:38:48.560,0:38:52.000
the haunted mansion it was
0:38:50.320,0:38:53.359
okay we’re we know we’re gonna do a
0:38:52.000,0:38:55.599
haunted mansion and
0:38:53.359,0:38:56.880
if again if you’re a fan of certain
0:38:55.599,0:38:59.200
things you already know
0:38:56.880,0:39:00.640
a lot of the back story you know because
0:38:59.200,0:39:01.920
the haunted mansion was supposed to
0:39:00.640,0:39:04.160
originally kind of go
0:39:01.920,0:39:05.760
in this direction and then it went in
0:39:04.160,0:39:08.000
that direction
0:39:05.760,0:39:08.960
and then the idea of okay how do we
0:39:08.000,0:39:11.760
bring it
0:39:08.960,0:39:14.480
to each park and how do we modify it do
0:39:11.760,0:39:15.760
we keep it the same do we change it
0:39:14.480,0:39:17.520
you know and that was the other thing
0:39:15.760,0:39:20.880
that was kind of interesting with
0:39:17.520,0:39:24.320
tower of terror was once they created
0:39:20.880,0:39:26.880
the ride technology they enhanced it
0:39:24.320,0:39:27.760
for other parks but then when they
0:39:26.880,0:39:30.640
brought it to
0:39:27.760,0:39:31.920
tokyo they had to completely change the
0:39:30.640,0:39:34.480
story around
0:39:31.920,0:39:35.599
because nobody in tokyo knew about
0:39:34.480,0:39:37.920
twilight zone
0:39:35.599,0:39:39.839
so it’s interesting to see how they you
0:39:37.920,0:39:41.280
know take the one idea and it kind of
0:39:39.839,0:39:43.119
gets morphed into
0:39:41.280,0:39:44.960
all these other ideas where they’re able
0:39:43.119,0:39:47.680
to use them
0:39:44.960,0:39:48.320
you know uh and bring them to life in
0:39:47.680,0:39:51.280
all of the
0:39:48.320,0:39:52.720
the parks in various ways so very cool
0:39:51.280,0:39:54.400
looking forward to seeing the rest of
0:39:52.720,0:39:57.680
the series and i think there’s
0:39:54.400,0:40:00.000
possibly going to be a second set of
0:39:57.680,0:40:01.280
uh shows that come out because i
0:40:00.000,0:40:01.599
remember that there were supposed to be
0:40:01.280,0:40:04.960
some
0:40:01.599,0:40:05.359
other um episodes so i don’t know if
0:40:04.960,0:40:07.599
it’s
0:40:05.359,0:40:09.040
that because they dropped all six at
0:40:07.599,0:40:10.880
once so i don’t know
0:40:09.040,0:40:12.400
if maybe in a year from now they’re
0:40:10.880,0:40:14.400
doing more i’ll have to
0:40:12.400,0:40:15.760
you know look it up and find out more
0:40:14.400,0:40:16.880
but as of right now there are six
0:40:15.760,0:40:24.560
episodes available
0:40:16.880,0:40:27.280
all on disney plus cool pick thank you
0:40:24.560,0:40:27.680
so my pick this week lo and behold is
0:40:27.280,0:40:30.800
not
0:40:27.680,0:40:31.440
a documentary my pick is actually black
0:40:30.800,0:40:34.400
widow
0:40:31.440,0:40:37.119
on disney plus in marvel studios
0:40:34.400,0:40:40.000
action-packed spy thriller black widow
0:40:37.119,0:40:42.880
natasha romanov aka black widow
0:40:40.000,0:40:45.359
confronts the darker parts of her ledger
0:40:42.880,0:40:46.079
when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to
0:40:45.359,0:40:49.680
her past
0:40:46.079,0:40:51.760
arises pursued by a force that will stop
0:40:49.680,0:40:53.680
at nothing to bring her down
0:40:51.760,0:40:55.119
although clearly they were stopped but
0:40:53.680,0:40:57.599
no spoilers
0:40:55.119,0:40:58.160
natasha must deal with her history as a
0:40:57.599,0:41:00.560
spy
0:40:58.160,0:41:01.440
in the broken relationships left in her
0:41:00.560,0:41:04.480
wake
0:41:01.440,0:41:06.560
long before she became an avenger
0:41:04.480,0:41:08.720
the first film in a phase four of the
0:41:06.560,0:41:11.920
marvel cinematic universe
0:41:08.720,0:41:12.800
is a bit lackluster in my opinion good
0:41:11.920,0:41:14.960
movie
0:41:12.800,0:41:16.560
i probably not delivered the best way
0:41:14.960,0:41:19.839
that it could have been
0:41:16.560,0:41:21.440
um suffering from the fact that you know
0:41:19.839,0:41:23.040
the ultimate outcome of the character
0:41:21.440,0:41:24.240
which is kind of alluded to at the end
0:41:23.040,0:41:26.079
of the movie
0:41:24.240,0:41:29.760
it was difficult to get invested in the
0:41:26.079,0:41:31.599
movie as anything significant to the mcu
0:41:29.760,0:41:33.520
there is some tie-ins that will carry on
0:41:31.599,0:41:37.119
later on but you have to watch the
0:41:33.520,0:41:40.240
the movie for that other mcus
0:41:37.119,0:41:42.960
are usually chocked full of cameos uh
0:41:40.240,0:41:44.640
of other familiar faces but they were
0:41:42.960,0:41:46.319
severely lacking in this movie you
0:41:44.640,0:41:48.400
didn’t get any avenger crossovers or
0:41:46.319,0:41:49.920
anything that you were expecting
0:41:48.400,0:41:51.200
there were a couple of really great
0:41:49.920,0:41:52.880
points in the movie that would have
0:41:51.200,0:41:54.640
worked and enhanced the movie
0:41:52.880,0:41:56.640
and you didn’t get anything from it so i
0:41:54.640,0:41:59.119
was kind of disappointing
0:41:56.640,0:42:01.040
most of the backstory that we do get is
0:41:59.119,0:42:02.960
done in flashbacks and references
0:42:01.040,0:42:04.880
much like all the other backstory we’ve
0:42:02.960,0:42:08.079
ever seen on this character
0:42:04.880,0:42:11.119
so it didn’t seem particularly revealing
0:42:08.079,0:42:14.160
all in all it wasn’t the worst mcu movie
0:42:11.119,0:42:15.200
thor i think still holds that title but
0:42:14.160,0:42:17.359
i feel the story
0:42:15.200,0:42:19.280
could have easily been better and it
0:42:17.359,0:42:21.119
could have been told over a six to eight
0:42:19.280,0:42:23.440
episode arc on disney plus like the
0:42:21.119,0:42:25.040
other mcu shows we’ve seen
0:42:23.440,0:42:27.440
at least then we would have had some
0:42:25.040,0:42:30.319
more time to explore the characters and
0:42:27.440,0:42:32.319
experience some real backstory in the
0:42:30.319,0:42:33.760
end it just felt like a final farewell
0:42:32.319,0:42:35.599
to a character which
0:42:33.760,0:42:37.359
cheapened the tear-jerker farewell she
0:42:35.599,0:42:39.200
had an end game
0:42:37.359,0:42:40.960
one plus sight as we finally get to know
0:42:39.200,0:42:42.400
what happened in budapest or is it
0:42:40.960,0:42:43.520
budapesh
0:42:42.400,0:42:46.560
they couldn’t figure out how they wanted
0:42:43.520,0:42:49.040
to pronounce it um but that was nice
0:42:46.560,0:42:50.880
um i am thankful we didn’t invest the
0:42:49.040,0:42:52.880
money to go see this at the theater
0:42:50.880,0:42:54.400
it’s definitely worth a watch just like
0:42:52.880,0:42:55.520
everything that’s come out so far on
0:42:54.400,0:42:57.520
disney plus but
0:42:55.520,0:42:59.760
it’s not worth the investment to go to
0:42:57.520,0:43:02.480
the theater to see it i don’t think
0:42:59.760,0:43:03.200
but it’s you know check it out it’s it’s
0:43:02.480,0:43:05.839
worth seeing
0:43:03.200,0:43:07.119
black widow on disney plus we’ll be
0:43:05.839,0:43:13.440
right back with our
0:43:07.119,0:43:14.960
after thoughts
0:43:13.440,0:43:17.680
so what do we got on the on the dock
0:43:14.960,0:43:20.480
again uh so we have coming up
0:43:17.680,0:43:21.760
uh in a couple of weeks um monster
0:43:20.480,0:43:25.200
maniacon
0:43:21.760,0:43:26.560
so in monster mania 46 will be august
0:43:25.200,0:43:29.760
13th through the 15th
0:43:26.560,0:43:30.640
in cherry hill new jersey uh then a few
0:43:29.760,0:43:33.599
weeks later
0:43:30.640,0:43:35.359
you have monster mania 47 which is in
0:43:33.599,0:43:37.280
hunt valley maryland
0:43:35.359,0:43:38.400
and then the end of october you have
0:43:37.280,0:43:42.000
monster mania
0:43:38.400,0:43:45.200
48 which will be in oaks pennsylvania
0:43:42.000,0:43:48.160
uh then we have a bunch of different uh
0:43:45.200,0:43:49.040
toy shows that are coming up um the
0:43:48.160,0:43:52.079
first one
0:43:49.040,0:43:54.960
which will actually be a free toy show
0:43:52.079,0:43:57.440
which is at and very interesting
0:43:54.960,0:43:58.800
shopping experience called uh carnival
0:43:57.440,0:44:01.440
of collectibles
0:43:58.800,0:44:02.800
uh they’ll be doing a small version of a
0:44:01.440,0:44:06.400
free toy show
0:44:02.800,0:44:09.119
on saturday september 11th and that’s in
0:44:06.400,0:44:10.720
cross keys on cross keys road in
0:44:09.119,0:44:13.119
sicklerville new jersey
0:44:10.720,0:44:14.400
the same organization that does that
0:44:13.119,0:44:17.280
also does
0:44:14.400,0:44:18.640
the delaware train show which will be
0:44:17.280,0:44:21.680
october 9th
0:44:18.640,0:44:23.440
and the oktoberfest toy show which is
0:44:21.680,0:44:25.920
sunday october 10th
0:44:23.440,0:44:28.319
and that’s at the near shrine center in
0:44:25.920,0:44:30.960
newcastle delaware that’s one of our
0:44:28.319,0:44:32.240
uh favorite locations to to go to we
0:44:30.960,0:44:34.240
we’ve never been to the
0:44:32.240,0:44:35.599
train show but we have been to the
0:44:34.240,0:44:37.920
oktoberfest
0:44:35.599,0:44:39.839
uh toy show many years and obviously
0:44:37.920,0:44:43.359
this is the first time they’re back in
0:44:39.839,0:44:47.119
in two years um and then uh we have
0:44:43.359,0:44:49.920
retrocon which will be
0:44:47.119,0:44:51.680
september 25th and 26th again another
0:44:49.920,0:44:54.000
one that we enjoy going to
0:44:51.680,0:44:54.880
and that is also held at the greater
0:44:54.000,0:44:57.200
philadelphia
0:44:54.880,0:44:59.760
expo center in oaks and why is it
0:44:57.200,0:45:02.720
greater because they said so
0:44:59.760,0:45:03.280
and finally uh the last one that we
0:45:02.720,0:45:06.560
added
0:45:03.280,0:45:08.480
which will be um also at the greater
0:45:06.560,0:45:09.520
philadelphia expo center so put that in
0:45:08.480,0:45:12.560
your gps and
0:45:09.520,0:45:16.079
and save it um is brick fest
0:45:12.560,0:45:18.480
so if you are a fan of legos of
0:45:16.079,0:45:19.760
any shape and size this is a an
0:45:18.480,0:45:22.240
interesting
0:45:19.760,0:45:23.440
one to go to we went to it a few years
0:45:22.240,0:45:25.920
ago
0:45:23.440,0:45:27.359
and it was it was really fascinating to
0:45:25.920,0:45:31.599
see because you have
0:45:27.359,0:45:33.599
you know beginner level uh builders
0:45:31.599,0:45:35.359
putting you know they’re putting on
0:45:33.599,0:45:36.079
display their little creations and then
0:45:35.359,0:45:39.119
you have these
0:45:36.079,0:45:41.280
big elaborate moving parts or
0:45:39.119,0:45:42.400
and i’ll also say that if you’re a star
0:45:41.280,0:45:45.760
wars fan
0:45:42.400,0:45:48.960
oh yeah the displays that they have
0:45:45.760,0:45:51.040
are ridiculous the detail they have
0:45:48.960,0:45:52.319
like you know on the on the image itself
0:45:51.040,0:45:52.800
you see a darth vader well that darth
0:45:52.319,0:45:55.359
vader
0:45:52.800,0:45:56.000
is life size yeah yeah he was like seven
0:45:55.359,0:45:58.400
foot tall
0:45:56.000,0:45:59.119
they had star destroyers that were that
0:45:58.400,0:46:01.599
were 12
0:45:59.119,0:46:03.359
feet long you know almost to the point
0:46:01.599,0:46:03.839
that they were set design pieces for a
0:46:03.359,0:46:05.520
movie
0:46:03.839,0:46:07.920
yeah yeah they had an attack of the
0:46:05.520,0:46:11.040
clone scene that was an entire
0:46:07.920,0:46:13.520
like 20 by 20 table so
0:46:11.040,0:46:14.319
just to go and appreciate the artwork of
0:46:13.520,0:46:16.240
what these people
0:46:14.319,0:46:17.440
are absolutely worth it plus all the
0:46:16.240,0:46:18.720
other things that you can do there
0:46:17.440,0:46:20.960
right so they have different things
0:46:18.720,0:46:21.760
where you can you know help build things
0:46:20.960,0:46:24.800
and they
0:46:21.760,0:46:25.599
they did a couple of different panels of
0:46:24.800,0:46:28.720
different things
0:46:25.599,0:46:31.440
and they have various vendors selling
0:46:28.720,0:46:32.079
um you know older legos hard to find
0:46:31.440,0:46:34.560
legos
0:46:32.079,0:46:36.400
loose pieces of legos some of them they
0:46:34.560,0:46:38.160
got minifigs this is the place to go
0:46:36.400,0:46:40.319
because you can get anything yeah
0:46:38.160,0:46:41.920
basically there’s tons of different
0:46:40.319,0:46:44.960
vendors selling them
0:46:41.920,0:46:48.560
i know when we went they were offering
0:46:44.960,0:46:51.040
uh time tickets so if you um
0:46:48.560,0:46:52.640
went after like 12 o’clock or something
0:46:51.040,0:46:54.720
it was like half price or something
0:46:52.640,0:46:56.079
this was before the pandemic right so i
0:46:54.720,0:46:58.319
have no idea
0:46:56.079,0:46:59.680
how they’re doing uh the tickets for
0:46:58.319,0:47:01.359
that but that was kind of cool because
0:46:59.680,0:47:03.040
we didn’t know what to expect
0:47:01.359,0:47:05.359
we didn’t want to get there first thing
0:47:03.040,0:47:08.319
we kind of did like the half day thing
0:47:05.359,0:47:09.520
and that gave us plenty of time uh you
0:47:08.319,0:47:12.720
know to do everything
0:47:09.520,0:47:16.000
uh that we wanted to see so again
0:47:12.720,0:47:19.760
you know if you’re into legos of
0:47:16.000,0:47:22.960
any kind very cool and again just to see
0:47:19.760,0:47:26.240
the magnitude of some of these creations
0:47:22.960,0:47:28.160
is fantastic very cool that was it
0:47:26.240,0:47:30.480
before we go i do want to once again
0:47:28.160,0:47:31.440
