Disney decides to drop the Fox name from 20th Century Fox and move forward with their own branded studio name after it’s acquisition of the aged studio giant. Jon Favreau gets schooled by George Lucas in his Joseph Campbell storytelling style while sharing a cute and cuddly picture of the Star Wars creator with Baby Yoda. Early rumors of a new Vader series possibly staring Hayden Christensen. AMC and Regal giving the cold shoulder to Netflix. Insights Into Entertainment: Episode 47 “Nothing But Star Wars”

Returning from the holiday we give you a deep dive into our adventures at Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We look at the overall ambiance, the vendors, the rides and the completely immersive feeling of actually being on the planet Batuu. It’s one of the most unique experiences we’ve ever had in over twenty trips to Walt Disney World in Florida. We’ve got footage of the experience, interactions with cast, building a lightsaber at Savi’s workshop and much of the Rise of the Resistance ride.

In entertainment news we’ll recap what was an incredible season finale of the Mandalorian then give our impressions, though not our rant on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A fitting end to the saga that could have been a little more polished for our liking. All in all another great podcast.

Insights Into Entertainment: Episode 45 “The Faith is Strong with this One”

How do you direct a show like The Mandalorian and somehow convince your children ages 6 and 11 to keep Baby Yoda a secret? We talk about how Bryce Dallas Howard accomplished this very thing. We’ll also take a look at the issues surrounding merchandise for the show and we’ll talk about the opening of the new Rise of the Resistance ride in Walt Disney World.

In Entertainment News we’ll look at how Tiffany Haddish is embracing her Jewish identity. We will grudgingly acknowledge the honor bestowed upon “The Irishman” by the National Board of Review who apparently think there’s an overall shortage of Mafia movies and that we needed yet another Martin Scorsese Mafia movie with the same actors playing all too similar roles as so many others.

Insights Into Entertainment: Episode 43 “Hacks, Honors and Baby Yoda”

Disney+ continues to struggle with service outages and now accounts being hacked while the stars of Frozen get their own stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We find out why we can’t yet buy the adorable “Baby Yoda” from the new Mandalorian series and John Williams is back with his 71st Grammy nomination 58 years after his first.

In Entertainment News we hear from Aquaman’s Willem Dafoe on the state of superhero movies, Michael Jackson’s accusers are back in the news with their appeals and sad news that one of our favorite shows and past Insightful Pick of the Week Mindhunter won’t be coming back anytime soon.
